HEADQUARTERS OF THE ARMY OF THE POTOMAC, FAIRFAX COURT-HOUSE, Va., March 14, 1862. Soldiers of the Army of the Potomac: For a long time I have kept you inactive; but not without a purpose. You were to be disciplined, armed and instructed. The formidable artillery you now have had to be created. Other armies were to move and accomplish certain results. I have held you back, that you might give the death-blow to the rebellion that has distracted our once happy country. The patience you have shown, and your confidence in your General, are worth a dozen victories. These preliminary...

Russia has lost another of its generals in the war in Ukraine, Kyiv has said, along with seven members of an elite force under Vladimir Putin's direct command as Ukraine inflicts punishing losses on Moscow's war machine. Major-General Oleg Mityaev, 47, commander of the army's 150th motorised rifle division, died fighting around the besieged city of Mariupol, Ukraine's interior ministry said late Tuesday as officials released a photo of what they claimed was his corpse on the battlefield. It marks the fourth Russian general that Ukraine claims to have taken out and the 13th officer overall, as Putin's invading forces...

Three recent left-wing tracts demonstrate how the Woke Occupation Army, and its pagan gods, are at war with traditional America and how they are determined to pin the blame on us. “The United States is coming to an end. The question is how.” Those are the opening lines of The Next Civil War: Dispatches from the American Future, by Canadian journalist Stephen Marche. It is one of several new books examining the possibility of our current political differences escalating into open conflict. Marche’s book purports to be a fair-minded analysis of our partisan divide, but isn’t. His effort is interesting...

Russia said on Wednesday that some parts of a possible peace deal with Ukraine were close to being agreed after Kyiv agreed to discuss neutrality, raising hopes of an end to the biggest war in Europe since World War Two. "Neutral status is now being seriously discussed along, of course, with security guarantees," Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said told RBC news. "Now this very thing is being discussed in negotiations - there are absolutely specific formulations which in my view are close to agreement," Lavrov said. He said that President Vladimir Putin had spoken about neutrality, along with security guarantees...

For years, world leaders have accused Russia of funding environmental groups in Europe to steer nations away from energy independence and strengthen Russia’s iron grip over the continent. As nations across the globe begin shunning Russian oil in response to the country’s invasion of Ukraine, U.S. leaders are also questioning how deep Russia’s ties go in the environmental community. "The Russians actually fund some of the most rabid environmental groups in Europe because they sic them on the energy projects that aren’t Russian," James Carafano, vice president of the Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign...

Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe released video footage from last November, showing armed FBI agents raiding and ransacking an employee’s home. The Feds raided two of O’Keefe’s employees’ homes on November 4, on the orders of federal prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. They raided O’Keefe’s apartment in Mamaroneck, N.Y., a couple of days later in connection with Ashley Biden’s allegedly stolen diary. O’Keefe contends that he and his journalists were targeted because of their investigative journalism. The footage begins with the FBI banging loudly on the door, and with the startled journalist...

Pray For The Peace of JerusalemJames 4Submit Yourselves to God 4 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? 2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. 4 You adulterous people,[a] don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity...

Am I the only person who sees a pattern of airhead virtue-signaling progressives getting fleeced by hustlers cashing in on the moral panic that followed the George Floyd riots? New England’s most prominent exponent of the Black Lives Matter movement is facing charges of bilking donors and using charity funds for personal gain. The highest-profile race activist in Boston, Monica Cannon-Grant, has been indicted by the US Attorney in Boston on 18 counts: ...with two counts of wire fraud conspiracy; one count of conspiracy; 13 counts of wire fraud; and one count of making false statements to a mortgage lending...

The autopsy findings indicated that "the amount of force necessary to cause the fracture, coupled with the fact that the skin on the back of the head was still intact, led (Stephany) to believe that the injury was most likely caused by "something hard, covered by something soft"...The medical examiner suggested "a fall onto a carpeted floor" as an example of the type of accident that could have fatally injured Saget.

A BLM activist has been charged over a huge fraud which is said to have included blowing a grant intended for young men at risk of violence on trips to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Shake Shack and a nail salon. She is accused of using much of the $1 million raised by her nonprofit Violence in Boston Inc for good causes. Her salary jumped from $25,000 in 2020 to $170,000 in 2021. Cannon-Grant - once named a Bostonian of the Year by the prestigious Boston Globe newspaper - was arrested at her spacious home last week. She appeared in a...

People in both parties will tell you that their own side is made up of feckless wimps who cower at the first sign of resistance, while the other side is populated by ruthless Machiavellians who will go to any lengths to win. But they can’t all be right. A look at Washington, and more vividly, at the states, tells us which side is mercilessly advancing its goals and which isn’t. And there are few better illustrations of this vast imbalance than how the parties have responded to the extraordinary Texas abortion law passed last year. A recap: The Texas law...

The problem with being a normie right now, that wants to drive a truck without a boatload of mandates, or buy gas to go shopping, or live in peace with your neighbors, is that the global educated elite has other plans for you, and you are not allowed to object. Indeed, if you do object, as Little Justin made clear up in Canada, you will be obliterated. Oh, you won't be sent to a camp, at least not yet. But you will lose your bank account, your job, and anything else that the government can get its hands on. And...

Despite shooting down nearly 70 Russian airplanes and another 80 helicopters, the Ukrainian air force has suffered its own losses that have given the Russians an even more decisive 10-to-1 advantage in the air, threatening a “catastrophe” for his country, a top Ukrainian general said on Tuesday. The loss of its own fighter jets and other aircraft has made it all the more urgent that Ukraine receive Soviet-era MiG-29 fighter jets from Poland and that NATO impose a no-fly zone over at least some regions of the country, said Col. Gen. Serhii Drozdov, the former chief of the Ukrainian air...

Invaluable lessons have emerged from the Ukraine crisis — one is the validation of India’s age-old apprehension of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Promoted with the supposed objectives of preventing the misuse of nuclear weapons and fostering complete nuclear disarmament...[snip]Not only have the NPT ‘nuclear weapon States’ not destroyed their stockpile, their belligerence and intimidatory expansionism on the ‘have-not’ nations has been disconcerting. From unsubstantiated case of the WMDs (Weapons of Mass Destruction) in Iraq, reneging of Iran N-treaty despite IAEA’s confirmation of full compliances, China’s blatant territorial expansionism, to now Russia’s free run in Ukraine — the privileged five...

Two years ago, I discovered the subversive diversity, equity, and inclusion movement secretly deployed to indoctrinate children -- my children. Propaganda-based children’s books were read in class to my first grader. The private Montessori school offered no warning to parents; I merely heard my child mentioning rainbows and parades in the car-ride home from school. A trip into the classroom revealed the books This Day in June and Pride: The Story of Harvey Milk and the Rainbow Flag, complete with images of gay pride parades and "God Says No" signs. I was dumbfounded and felt betrayed. Why would these books...

Never have so few so devastatingly impacted the well-being and future of this country. The American left uses their dominant position in social media to manipulate the legacy media, set the agenda, browbeat the elected members of the Democrat party, and intimidate corporate America. In order to protect their political or social status, many of the self-serving politicians in both parties, as well as corporate executives and editors and journalists, are easily intimidated by the volume and vociferousness of social media trolling. Others are willingly convinced that they are on the right side of various issues based on same criteria....

Former CNN correspondent Charles Jaco mocked a Fox News reporter who was injured in Ukraine on Monday, using the opportunity to score political points and push the liberal narrative that Fox News is a mouthpiece for the Kremlin. What is the background? Fox News announced Monday that correspondent Benjamin Hall was hospitalized after being injured "outside of Kyiv in Ukraine." News of Hall's injury came one day after American journalist Brent Renaud — who formally worked for the New York Times, HBO, and NBC, among other outlets — was killed when Russian forces reportedly opened fire on a car he...

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Imagine a forest the size of Raleigh and Durham. Now imagine a forest that size dying every single year. It’s an unfortunate reality that’s happening right now across the North American Coastal Plain, including part of our backyard here in North Carolina. Our North Carolina beaches are a popular vacation spot or weekend getaway where we soak up the sun and relax to the sound of waves. But just a few miles inland, our coastal wetlands are facing a crisis. Vulnerable ecosystems are changing, and trees are dying, leaving nothing but ghosts. “A ghost forest I...
