The Biden administration is secretly planning to impose an executive order directing all federal agencies to focus on voter registration and partner with private organizations to boost election turnout, according to members of Congress and a watchdog group. Last March, President Joe Biden signed an executive order stating that federal agencies “shall consider ways to expand citizens’ opportunities to register to vote and to obtain information about, and participate in, the electoral process.” The president’s order says that each agency must submit its plan to Susan Rice, director of the White House Domestic Policy Council, to “promote voter registration and...

“Appeasement,” “Munich,” and the years of 1938-9 retain immense rhetorical power when invoked by political and media actors in the English-speaking world. In the media landscape, foreign policy pundits often insinuate that to negotiate with rivals is to risk repeating the mistakes of Neville Chamberlain, the pre-World War II British Prime Minister who is said to have “given away” a part of Czechoslovakia in exchange for “peace in our time.” Subsequent events cast the phrase into infamy.

BOSTON (AP) — Lawyers representing the family of a 4-year-old boy with autism said Wednesday that they have received a temporary court order from a federal judge exempting him from having to wear a mask when flying from Florida to Boston for treatment. U.S. District Court Chief Judge Patti Saris in Boston scheduled an emergency hearing Wednesday after the lawyers said two airlines and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention declined to grant a mask exception for the boy. Just days before it was found, Wallace - NASCAR's only full-time black driver - had successfully lobbied for the auto racing company to permanently ban the Confederate Flag from being displayed at any of its events. The request was made at the height of racial injustice protests across the country following the police killing of George Floyd in Minnesota. Wallace received an onslaught of backlash over the motion, with some fans of the sport claiming the flag was a crucial part of their southern heritage and therefore an integral part of NASCAR, a sport with deep Southern roots. On June...

The liberal conceit is that no man labors under any natural ontological requirement that he should submit to some authority, and so nor therefore can there be any legitimate authority; ergo, it is wrong, as unjust, to exert or submit to any authority, and eo ipso good to transgress against authority of every sort, and to undermine it. The propositions in the foregoing can be rearranged ad libitum, without undermining their joint agreement or their moral effect – or their morbid consequences in human lives. Reality being what it is, that liberal conceit tends in action always to the centralization...

For months now we’ve been hearing Washington ring alarm bells regarding what they have cited as an “imminent Russian invasion of Ukraine.” According to the latest so-called US “intelligence,” a full-scale invasion would take place this week. Yet, as some of us have for months insisted would be the case, no invasion has transpired, nor, I believe, is one likely. Moscow, which has announced that its troops are pulling back from Russia’s border with Ukraine, has consistently denied that it has any intention of invading. But Washington, with its repeated accusations regarding an imminent false-flag incident, to its stationing of...

So I checked my phone yesterday and saw that a got two missed calls from a number that looked like a business. I googled the number and it came up as the Philadelphia FBI. I prefer to deal with such people in the written form whenever possible, so nothing gets twisted around. Possibly, it's about a fraud complaint I left online last year that I also spoke to the state police about. However, with all of the suppression of MAGA, I am wondering if the FIB is getting more interested in FReepers online comments. Has anyone else gotten a phone...

Russian aircraft came close to three US navy planes in the Mediterranean Sea over the weekend, the Pentagon said on Wednesday, at a time of heightened tensions between the two countries over Russia’s military buildup along its border with Ukraine. While such interactions are not rare between the United States and Russia, it comes at a particularly delicate time and a heightened concern about any accidents or miscalculations. Russian aircraft came close to three US navy P-8A aircraft while they were flying in international airspace over the Mediterranean. “While no one was hurt, interactions such as these could result in...

Fox News personality Geraldo Rivera said Wednesday on “The Five” that conservative media went from “support to incitement” of truckers protesting COVID restrictions in Canada. Rivera said, “You know what is not popular in Canada is this trucker, this ‘Freedom Convoy.’ What about the freedom of the homeowners to live in peace? What about the freedom of the shopkeepers to do business? What about the freedom of the autoworkers to get parts so they can put their cars together?”
