"The House Select Committee established to probe the Capitol riot is not interested in probing the Capitol riot. According to a Federalist analysis of the 84 subpoenas publicly issued by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Select Committee on Jan. 6, only 8 have targeted individuals or groups with any connection to the Capitol riot. The rest have taken aim at former government officials and private citizens in a smear campaign for exercising their constitutional right to protest. The 84 subpoenas do not include the more than 100 seeking the telephone records of individuals whose identities remain under seal, both from the...

The deadly Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol is reportedly poised to get the Hollywood treatment as the subject of a “harrowing and terrifying” feature film. Billy Ray, who directed Showtime’s 2020 miniseries “The Comey Rule,” is spearheading “J6,” Deadline reported Thursday. The screenwriter — who said in a tweet last year that he planned on telling the story of some of the Capitol Police officers who responded to the riot — touched down in Washington days after the attack by a mob of Trump supporters, and interviewed some of the lawmakers and law enforcement officials who lived through it,...

Deterring Chinese aggression against Taiwan is realistic and must be the commitment of any U.S. leader who refuses to accept American decline. Americans agree. that China poses a serious threat to the United States, but there is disagreement about the ways China poses a problem and to what degree we can and should do something about it. China’s economic coercion, censorship, theft, and pernicious efforts to make America more like China, or at least make Americans of the view that there is nothing wrong with the Chinese Communist way, are meant to help China exert greater influence over U.S. business,...

Federal prosecutors moved to deny bond for Stewart Rhodes, the leader of the right-wing Oath Keepers who was charged last week with seditious conspiracy for his alleged involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol, telling a judge that he poses a flight risk and is a danger to the community. In a brief filed in Texas federal district court Thursday night, prosecutors asked a judge to order Rhodes be kept in jail while he awaits trial. "There is overwhelming evidence that Rhodes organized a plot to oppose by force the execution of the laws of the United...

"The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is continuing its U.S. agricultural takeover, buying hundreds of thousands of arable acres across the nation. The purchase of U.S. land is part of the CCP’s food security initiative, posing a significant threat to food and national security for the American public. Republicans appear willing to confront the risk by introducing amendments to H.R. 4356 and 2022 Agricultural Appropriations bill to limit land ownership and tax incentives for foreign investors. At the beginning of 2020, Chinese investors had purchased upwards of 192,000 acres of American agricultural land. The value of the land is roughly $1.9...

WASHINGTON -- A U.S. judge in Texas issued a nationwide injunction on Friday barring the federal government from enforcing President Joe Biden's requirement that federal workers without qualifying medical or religious exemptions be vaccinated for COVID-19. Judge Jeffrey Brown, who was appointed to the District Court for the Southern District of Texas by then-President Donald Trump, ruled that opponents of Biden's vaccination mandate for federal employees were likely to succeed at trial and blocked the government from enforcing the requirement.

Iran, China and Russia have launched a joint naval exercise in the Indian Ocean, with the aim of boosting marine security, state media reported. Iran's Revolutionary Guard will also participate with smaller ships and helicopters. The military exercise comes at a time of heightened tensions between Russia and the West over Moscow's build-up of some 100,000 troops on their border with Ukraine. Russia is also being joined by China and Iran - two nations which are at loggerheads with...

Why is the Biden "administration" running advertisements for itself on prime time TV? This is a two minute commercial they made and are running with Tom Hanks and UPS talking about how America is great, best economy ever, more jobs created etc...with Dear Leader front and center. It is a campaign ad in his first year. No campaign going on. It is scary 1984 big brother level propaganda, unprecedented as far as I know. The totalitarianism that is happening is real and chilling.

The Russian foreign ministry reiterated its security demand to the US and NATO, asking for a complete withdrawal of foreign forces from NATO member states Bulgaria and Romania, the Russian foreign ministry said on Friday. Both Bulgaria and Romania are on the Black Sea — close to Russia’s area of influence. Romania also borders Ukraine. The ministry said Moscow’s position was very clear and didn’t leave room for “ambiguous interpretations.” “We are talking about the withdrawal of foreign forces, hardware, and weapons as well as other steps that will ensure that the setup in the countries that were not NATO...

Joe Biden has been called a pathological liar, Pinocchio on steroids, delusional and totally detached from reality. That’s unfair. Instead, let’s just say the president has a flair for fiction. Think of him as a master storyteller to put Hans Christian Andersen and the Brothers Grimm to shame. Here are a few of my favorite Biden bedtime stories:The Democrats Freedom to Vote Act will secure the right to vote for millions of Americans the GOP is trying to disenfranchise – Biden said Republicans working for election reform (secure ballots) are on the side of George Wallace not Martin Luther...

Kyle Rittenhouse, the Illinois man acquitted of fatally shooting two men and wounding a third during street protests in Kenosha in 2020, is seeking the return of the gun and other property that police seized after his arrest. Rittenhouse's attorney Mark Richards filed paperwork with the Kenosha County Circuit Court on Wednesday seeking the return of the items, explaining that Rittenhouse wants the AR-15 style rifle back so that it can be destroyed, the Kenosha News reported. Law enforcement has had the gun since the day after Rittenhouse shot three men, two of them fatally, on Aug. 25, 2020, during...

The past and current master of the GOP sees a future threat arising. [cut] “It was a mistake to ever embrace Donald Trump, and now we want to be the party of Adam Kinzinger.” [cut] Would DeSantis be audacious enough to run against Trump in 2024? The case against waiting is that it’s extremely unlikely that the governor can maintain his exalted status in the party until 2028. On the other hand, the case against running in 2024 is that it involves the enormous risk of encountering the business end of the Trump buzz saw, which could change DeSantis’s image...

MEMORIAL OF SAINT AGNES, VIRGIN AND MARTYRTIME MARK 3:13-19 Friends, today’s Gospel recounts Jesus selecting and appointing the Apostles. Bible scholar and theologian N.T. Wright has explained why Jesus commissioned twelve disciples as Apostles. Wright tells us that when a first-century Jew spoke of the arrival of God’s kingdom, he was taken to mean something very specific. He was announcing that the temple was going to be restored, that the proper worship of Yahweh would obtain, that the enemies of Israel would be dealt with, and that, above all, the tribes of the Lord would be gathered, and through them,...

A federal court in Texas has issued an injunction against President Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for the federal workforce, pausing implementation of a requirement for more than 2 million civilian servants. … Judge Jeffrey Brown, appointed by President Trump to the U.S. Court for the Southern District of Texas, said the case was not about whether individuals should be vaccinated or even about federal power generally. “It is instead about whether the president can, with the stroke of a pen and without the input of Congress, require millions of federal employees to undergo a medical procedure as a condition of...
