The latest on tensions at the Ukraine-Russia border
CNN ^

The Russian foreign ministry reiterated its security demand to the US and NATO, asking for a complete withdrawal of foreign forces from NATO member states Bulgaria and Romania, the Russian foreign ministry said on Friday.

Both Bulgaria and Romania are on the Black Sea — close to Russia’s area of influence. Romania also borders Ukraine.

The ministry said Moscow’s position was very clear and didn’t leave room for “ambiguous interpretations.”

“We are talking about the withdrawal of foreign forces, hardware, and weapons as well as other steps that will ensure that the setup in the countries that were not NATO members back in 1997 would be reverted to what it was back then,” the ministry said. “These include Bulgaria and Romania.”

On Thursday, the Dutch defense minister told parliament that the Netherlands would deploy two F-35 jets, along with support staff, to Bulgaria to increase NATO’s defense and deterrence capabilities in the region, in light of Russian troop build-up around Ukraine.

The deployment is expected to take place in April-May. The country also made available to NATO an amphibious transport ship.

The Spanish minister of defense also offered to send fighter jets to Bulgaria and a warship to the Black Sea in light of the rising tensions.

Sorry Putin - you don’t get to roll the clock back to ‘97. He’s reverting to the same old Soviet he used to be, just like Xi is trying to be Mao.

Communism never dies, it just changes its name - often. Here they call themselves “progressives”.

Basically human shields.

2 planes is not a credible fighting force. It doesn't truly contribute to a credible fighting force. But they work well as sacrificial lambs so that if things get ugly, a European country can say, "Russia shot at one of our planes!!!!!! We will go to war!"

I think the West is asking for trouble and eager for war. Good distraction from the mess they have all made of their own homelands.

Lol - I support Putin’s ability to look out for his own nation’s interests, but now he’s being foolish at best. His alliance with China is nearly identical to the WWII agreement with Hitler, and will result in Russia losing the eastern half of their nation to the Chinese who desire the resources.

Biden fancies himself as FDR. God help us.

Welcome to 1939.

Ok so Russia is demanding we abandon CURRENT NATO members? Or they invade Ukraine,I guess. Sorry Freepers Russia is exploiting Biden’s weakness and abandoning treaty allies would be insanity.

We’re in trouble in the world and we better focus on national defense.

It’s time to stop accepting Russian lies and threats. No one is threatening Russia and they know it.

Where are those NATO members?

And why didn’t Biden line our NATO friends up BEFORE he sent “winken Blinken” out to face down Russians?

This is more stupid drams queen crap put out by the idiots in the Biden administration. Hopefully since Bernie knows the commies well, he can help ‘change the subject’ and make Biden’s handlers look strong. What a barf. Yeah, let’s all die to protect for borders of some corrupt third world hellhole.. while our borders are open.

Dude Russian demands to withdraw from NATO countries is not made up by CNN.

Russia China and Iran are allied against us and Russia isn’t going to stop at Ukraine, or China with Taiwan.

American weakness and Russian aggressiveis about to lead to war in Europe, and that war won’t be in Ukraine. Poland and a lot of other countries are never, and that is what set off WWIII.

This doesn’t have to happen. Putin knows damn well that he doesn’t “deserve” to invade Ukraine, and that it isn’t worth WWIII. He expects to be given Eastern Europe on a silver platter.

The moment Russia engages Ukraine is the moment Iran will start action against Israel is the moment US muzzies will start some sh*t at home.
