Black Lives Matter is backing Jussie Smollett — who’s on trial for allegedly staging a hate crime attack — because “we can never believe the police,” a founder of the movement said in a statement. “As abolitionists, we approach situations of injustice with love and align ourselves with our community,” Dr. Melina Abdullah, director of BLM Grassroots and co-founder of BLM Los Angeles, said in a Tuesday statement. “In an abolitionist society, this trial would not be taking place, and our communities would not have to fight and suffer to prove our worth,” Abdullah said.

The COVID-Cult dogma is rich in exaggeration and weighted down by deception. Nothing they have claimed is clinically or statistically accurate, and COVID-Galielo’s are quickly put before the inquisition to be examined by its Holy Officers. Galileo was found guilty of “vehement suspicion of heresy” and forced to repent his sins before God and the masters of his time by reading remarks prepared for him by The Church. These days, the blasphemers are nurses, doctors, clinicians, oncologists, epidemiologists, numerous professionals in scientific disciplines, all of whom have found themselves put before the inquisition – much like the climate scientists who...

Dark Brightness is aghast at the snowballing tyranny that has taken over his beloved New Zealand. The resentment to the Ardern is increasing. She is starting to tell us that we can have our lives back — coffee, cake, movies, concerts. She does not understand that the pain of the lockdowns and loss of freedom is not dealt with by that. She’s lost her fangirls. She can’t read the room. She’s going Marie Antionette. Unless she changes tack quickly, this will end really badly. I completely disagree with his exhortation for Adhern and her ilk to change tack. I am...

On Wednesday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Kudlow,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) pushed for sanctions on Russia’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline regardless of whether or not Russia invades Ukraine Graham said sanctioning Nord Stream 2 regardless of whether or not Russia invades “would be a great thing to do. It would bolster the case in the eyes of Russia that there will be a price to be paid. … Why would you give Putin a reward when he’s done nothing but be the most destructive force in central Europe? So, the Biden approach is to coddle and reward people...

As the Supreme Court determines whether to preserve the Court-created "right to abortion" under Roe v. Wade, those on the feminist Left have gone into full-blown panic mode. Women's rights, they insist, will implode without granting women the ability to abort their children; only that ability can equalize the natural inequalities of biology, by which women are saddled with the burden of childbearing and child rearing. This war with biology is central to the Left's definition of autonomy itself. In the pages of The New York Times, Democratic activist Elizabeth Spiers made this perfectly clear in arguing that abortion ought...

More than 40 camels have been disqualified from Saudi Arabia's beauty pageant for receiving Botox injections and other cosmetic enhancements. The contest is a highlight of the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival, where $66m (£45m) in prize money is at stake. Key attributes include long, droopy lips, a big nose and a shapely hump. Judges used "advanced" technology to uncover tampering with camels on a scale not seen before, the state-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. All contestants were first led into a hall where their external appearance and movements were examined by specialists, it said. Their heads, necks and torsos...

Some Ring customers said that they spent time rebooting or reinstalling their apps and devices before finding out about the outage on social media. Many rely on a phone app to enter their homes, rather than a code that can also be used, with those that had forgotten the latter stuck outside their own homes as Ring doorbells went down. A source told DailyMail.com that the cause of the outbreak was a power failure in Virginia and not a malicious hacking. The nearly eight-hour outage also disrupted the company's shipping operations on Tuesday, threatening to create lasting logjams during the...

The large-scale drug trafficking operation of an infamous cartel just got busted in a mountain state some 1,400 miles from its Mexican headquarters and only one U.S. official, a local prosecutor, has dared to acknowledge the obvious; “This poison is coming over from our southern border unchecked,” said the elected prosecutor of Colorado’s largest district. “It will not stop coming over the border from Mexico into our communities until the federal government takes that porous border seriously.” His name is John Kellner, district attorney in the state’s 18th Judicial District which serves a population of about 1.3 million and covers...

China has warned countries who have announced a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Winter Olympics that they "will pay the price for their mistaken acts". The US, UK, Australia and Canada will not send government representatives to the Games because of concerns over China's human rights record. Chinese state media claimed on Wednesday that Beijing "never planned to invite US and Western politicians who hype the 'boycott' topic".

NYCHA — the New York City Housing Authority to local cognoscenti — has been one of my favorite topics over the years. For a sampling of prior posts see here, here, here and here. Multiple factors make NYCHA a core subject matter for this blog. First, it is one of the most prominent and largest examples in the U.S. of a major enterprise that operates on a very pure socialist model, with full public ownership of the assets and distribution of the “benefits” (deeply discounted housing units) on the basis of perceived “need.” Second, NYCHA has failed catastrophically, and for...

Education touches nearly every household in America either as taxpayers or parents, but few politicians have championed this issue accordingly. Following the results of the Virginia Gubernatorial race of 2021, however, any politician paying attention will see the value in making education a priority - like it is for their constituents, particularly women. Glenn Youngkin, now Governor-Elect of Virginia, understood the frustration of parents across the state and ran on a promise to return parents to authority and protect parental rights. This all came after his opponent, former governor of Virginia Terry McAuliffe, said on the debate stage that parents...

Hillary Clinton is a wife, mother, lawyer, senator, secretary of state, and perhaps the first front-runner to lose two presidential races. On December 9, she will share her experiences, teaching a MasterClass course on “the power of resilience”: Yet there are so many potentially useful and educational classes she could offer but won’t, such as: -How to Turn a $1,000 Investment into $100,000 in Less Than a Year. -Vast Right Wing Conspiracy: Mass Communication as Deflection. -A colloquium on the history of carpetbagging. -Quid Pro $: Charitable “Foundation” as Cash Cow. -How to Do a Southern Accent. -“What Difference, at...

The War on Christmas is taking no prisoners in 2021. What was once a handful of angry extremists on the fringes wailing about the lack of celebrations for those who don’t follow Christianity has now morphed into a group of woke warriors wreaking havoc during the holiday, hoping to frighten those who commemorate the Son of God or even simply love shiny objects. As if we don’t have enough anxiety already with Omicron, a nationwide Santa shortage, looting, and defunding police, we can now add burning Christmas trees.

The effort to recall Seattle City Councilmember Kshama Sawant lost significant ground in Wednesday’s ballot count, with 50.3% of voters agreeing to remove her from office, compared to 53% of the votes counted on Tuesday. With Wednesday’s count, Sawant has narrowed the difference to only 246 votes, out of the 39,274 counted so far. She received 62% of the votes counted on Wednesday. King County Elections Chief of Staff Kendall Hodson said Wednesday the county estimates there are about 1,200 ballots left to be counted on Thursday and an additional 656 ballots with signature challenges that could be resolved and...

A secularist non-profit organization that strongly urges separation of church and state in America is taking issue with Wreaths Across America's nearly 30-year tradition of placing wreaths on thousands of military graves. The Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) is calling out Wreaths Across America, telling the Colorado Springs Gazette that the organization's actions in placing wreaths on military gravesites around the country are "unconstitutional, an atrocity and a disgrace." "We have no problem if people reach out and want a wreath on their deceased veterans’ graves, but to put them everywhere, to blanket them without permission of the surviving families...
