The largest utility company in Southern California cut power to thousands of customers across higher elevations of Los Angeles, leaving many households without electricity for Thanksgiving. Edison International’s Southern California utility cut power to 32,036 residential and commercial building structures in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties to prevent wind storms from toppling power lines that would stoke fires in the drought-stricken region. The utility projects up to a quarter-million customers could lose service around Los Angeles and San Diego. ... Edison warned more customers are likely to lose power, and San Diego Gas & Electric, another...

While most of us are celebrating a day intended to remind us to be thankful for the various blessings in our lives, there will always be some people so consumed with politics that they will play a role equivalent to the Grinch at Christmas. That seems to be the point being made this week by Matt Lewis in his latest column at the Daily Beast. The holiday is a target for some on the left who equate it to the genocide of indigenous Americans, colonialism and slavery. Matt further argues that there are some on the conservative side of the...

MSNBC took five minutes out of its race baiting coverage of the Rittenhouse case to remind its extremist viewers (there can’t be many left) that Thanksgiving is coming up and that it is a celebration of… you guessed it, white supremacy. Tiffany Cross, who earlier had called Kyle Rittenhouse a “murderous white supremacist,” handed over a segment of her show to Gyasi Ross who declared that the holiday is part of the “pathology of white America” believing that they have improved the country. “But I’m still trying to find out what indigenous people received of value,” Ross proclaimed, adding “Instead...

Soaring demand for guns and ammunition comes from a range of demographic groups Just two companies, Vista Outdoor and Olin Corp, meet the bulk of America’s demand for ammunition, and chiefly through two long-established brands. Remington, part of Vista, was founded in 1816, and Winchester Ammunition, owned by Olin Corp, started in 1866. Because of soaring demand for bullets, both firms are enjoying the sort of heady growth that only new businesses usually enjoy. Three times a day, queues of pick-up trucks appear outside Remington’s ammunition plant on the outskirts of Little Rock, Arkansas, to bear away the fruits of...

It’s turkey time and I’ve asked Walter, Peanut, Achmed, Bubba J, Url (the new guy), and even President Joe Biden to start this holiday season by being thankful… in hindsight, this could be a recipe for disaster. Watch

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has a podcast now, called Firebrand. He was joined by fellow pro-Trump stalwart Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who weighed in on the growing battle within the Republican Party — suggesting that House Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) “doesn’t have the votes” to become speaker if the GOP flips the House in 2022. Greene’s comments come on the heels of a recent report claiming that former President Donald Trump is keeping McCarthy on a short leash, leveraging his support for McCarthy’s speakership bid to keep him in line.

President Biden phoned Al Roker on Thursday to land a cameo in NBC’s coverage of the 2021 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade — repeating his “America is Back” mantra to the weatherman even as inflation and sky-high gas prices have made this the most expensive turkey day ever. Roker acted as though he was surprised, though the performance was unconvincing, as presidential aides typically notify journalists in advance of such calls and TV news anchors rarely answer their phones mid-broadcast.

It occurred to me I haven’t ever seen any “live threads” for the Macy’s Parade on Thanksgiving! In all these years. Meanwhile sport events will get them regularly, etc. It’s late now but make comments!

“We gather together to ask the Lord’s blessings…” So opens a great hymn of thanksgiving that is often sung at Thanksgiving, the 400th anniversary of which is this year. The Pilgrims celebrated the first Thanksgiving in 1621. We have had 400 years of Thanksgiving in America, and thanks to Presidents Washington (who declared the first national day of Thanksgiving) and Lincoln (who made it a yearly event), we even celebrate it as an annual holiday. But some on the left think we need to change Thanksgiving to a time of mourning. Fox News (11/21/21) writes: “Several American universities are participating...

Beloved, Greetings in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ! Who is the TRUE source for ALL Heavenly blessings here on earth and in Heaven above (Eph. 1:3)! I would like to ask us all this very serious question in light of Thanksgiving 2021 here in America; Can we be truly thankful in our hearts as we celebrate this time of Thanksgiving in light of our EXPONENTIAL national implosion and deterioration? Are we thankful in rightness for our loved ones, a measure of health, and a sound mind? Are we are thankful for the earthly blessings and liberties that we...

Three retail pharmacy chains recklessly distributed vast amounts of pain pills in two Ohio counties, a federal jury said on Tuesday, in a verdict that could set the tone for US city and county governments that want to hold pharmacies accountable for their roles in the opioid crisis. Lake and Trumbull counties blamed pharmacies operated by CVS, Walgreens and Walmart for not stopping the flood of pills that caused hundreds of overdose deaths and cost each of the two counties about $1bn, their attorney said.

NVIDIA might be viewed as a company that makes GPUs for computers, but they are much more than that. They also work on AI and the company’s latest demonstration is actually very fascinating and also very impressive. This comes in the form of GauGAN2, an updated version of NVIDIA’s AI system that debuted on the Canvas app earlier this year. For those unfamiliar, Canvas is an app that can generate photorealistic scenes through simple brush strokes, meaning that users don’t need to have painting skills to create beautiful works of art, just let the AI handle the rest. With GauGAN2,...

A new COVID-19 variant of "serious concern" has been detected in South Africa, scientists said at a press conference on Thursday. “Here is a mutation variant of serious concern,” South African Health Minister Joe Phaahla said at the media briefing, Bloomberg reported. “We were hopeful that we might have a longer break in between waves — possibly that it would hold off to late December or even next year January.”
