The largest utility company in Southern California cut power to thousands of customers across higher elevations of Los Angeles, leaving many households without electricity for Thanksgiving.
Edison International’s Southern California utility cut power to 32,036 residential and commercial building structures in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties to prevent wind storms from toppling power lines that would stoke fires in the drought-stricken region. The utility projects up to a quarter-million customers could lose service around Los Angeles and San Diego.

I have my generator lit off. It runs everything but the electric range. We are going to break out the MREs.
My Generac is ready.
They did not stop delivering power out of fear of starting fires, but because it knew it would not have power to deliver once high winds shut down all those wind turbines.

Thanks, looked at the article. The professor didn’t look happy, heh. I wonder how many less fires there would have been without him and others starting them.
So far no problems. I’ve used it about 200 hours during the last few power outages. I follow all the routine maintenance instructions. I do realize this is not a permanent off grid power source.
This will do wonders for turkeys in the oven.

The wind mills do not work during low wind, high wind, when it is snowing ... do not charge up your electric cars .. as the wind mills can not keep up..
