The US Consumer Inflation Report for October was horrible, showing a 12% annualized rate of price change. But it’s even worse than it looks. The shelter component of the index lags the more reliable private gauges of rent inflation. That means worse is to come. Three US companies publish national rent indexes – CoreLogic, Zillow and Apartmentlist.com – and their readings of year-on-year rent inflation range from 9% to 16%. But the US Bureau of Labor Statistics reports a year-on-year rise in the rents of just 3.4%. Shelter represents a third of household expenditures according to the Consumer Price Index....

According to the WSJ, Memoli supports vaccination among the elderly and at-risk, as well as the childhood vaccinations that have been commonplace for decades. However, he takes issue with the widespread use of COVID-19 vaccines for the population at large and that “with existing vaccines, blanket vaccination of people at low risk of severe illness could hamper the development of more-robust immunity gained across a population from infection.” The WSJ notes that Memoli’s views make him an “outlier” in the medical community and at the NIH as well as among federal employees, 88% of whom are currently vaccinated. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) has updated its database on tap water in the United States, revealing where testing has detected potentially deadly pollutants in the nation’s water systems. First published in 2005, the database was most recently updated in 2018. “We’re collecting testing data from almost 50,000 water utilities nationwide,” said Sydney Evans, a science analyst with EWG, in an interview with The Epoch Times. Intel had proposed “using a factory in Chengdu, China, to manufacture silicon wafers,” the report said. It could have been online by 2022, but the White House, “strongly discouraged” the move. I’ve often pondered on what sort of country my young grandsons will be forced to grow up in. As their future is changing and their rights are eroding, I wonder how I may someday sit with them and talk of the country I grew up in. How might I explain the way things used to be? I suppose this has been explored by every generation before me, but I can’t help but feel that it is much different this time due to the crumbling state of our moral consciousness and the desecration of our rule of law, the foundation that...
