Medical professionals who are transgender are questioning gender reassignment procedures for children. Dr. Marci Bowers, who specializes in vaginoplasty, and Erica Anderson, a clinical psychologist at the University of California, San Francisco's Child and Adolescent Gender Clinic, discussed the risks that come with gender reassignment surgery for children. "I think there was naivete on the part of pediatric endocrinologists who were proponents of early [puberty] blockage thinking that just this magic can happen, that surgeons can do anything," Bowers said. Bowers operated on transgender reality television star Jazz Jennings in June 2018. "This is typical of medicine. We zig and...

The news is replete with examples of corporations and institutions going woke, from Google to Aunt Jemima. Unfortunately, now The Salvation Army is in danger of joining the ranks of Woke Inc. In materials prepared for its more than 1.5 million members, The Salvation Army uses terms that echo both radical “anti-racism” jargon and the divisive teachings of critical race theory, which divides people into two camps: the oppressors and the oppressed. The Salvation Army has begun to promote political and racial ideologies under the banner of its New York-based International Social Justice Commission since the protests and riots over...

The nomination of Saule Omarova as comptroller of the currency by President Joe Biden has set off alarm bells in the financial services industry. (Shannon Stapleton/Reuters) In an interview with French television, U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry helpfully explains that President Biden simply had no idea that the U.S.-U.K.-Australia deal on submarines would irk the French government, and “had not been aware of what had transpired.” Interviewer, surprised: You told Joe Biden that it was not the right- Kerry: He asked me. U.S. services industry activity nudged up in September, but growth is being restrained by a persistent shortage of inputs and the resulting high prices as the pandemic drags on. The Institute for Supply Management said on Tuesday its non-manufacturing activity index edged up to a reading of 61.9 last month from 61.7 in August. A reading above 50 indicates growth in the services sector, which accounts for more than two-thirds of U.S. economic activity. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast the index falling to 60. A resurgence in COVID-19 infections, driven by the Delta variant, has delayed an anticipated upswing...

Kirsten Powers, a far-left commentator at CNN, joined many of her CNNLOL colleagues in justifying the outright harassment of people they disagree with. Referencing the despicable and unhinged harassment of Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) over the weekend, Powers tweeted on Monday: When challenged on her despicable support for this appalling invasion which equates to opposing civility, Powers remained defiant. “I’m flabbergasted,” Powers tweeted, “by people who think a US Senator has been harmed by constituents trying to get her to understand how her actions affect actual lives. If she didn’t want to be confronted in a bathroom, she could have...

Sen. Joe Manchin said he does not believe immigration reform will make it into the budget reconciliation bill, delivering a blow to immigration activists who had hoped Democrats would pass a pathway to citizenship without the help of Republicans. 'I don't think it's going to be in there. I really don't,' the West Virginia Democrat told Latino Rebels on Monday afternoon. 'I think it's too big for that.' Manchin said he is 'totally committed' to the need for immigration reform but but he is unwilling to 'bust the Byrd Rule.'

by Chuck Ness"But we are all like an unclean thing, and all of our righteousnesses are like filthy rags." Isaiah 64:6The Prophet Isaiah summed up the reprobate state into which God's chosen people had sunk. Though they had the blessing of the Law given to them by Moses, when he conversed with God on Mount Sinai, they had turned from their Lawgiver and become more wretched than the people who did not have the Law. God's chosen people were worshiping false gods. Isaiah 42:17 They were reveling in idolatry so much so that the prophet called Jerusalem a harlot that...

Over the last two years, progressive critics have casually attacked the origins, nature and values of American society. Is the idea of America so indestructible that it can weather any assault? The foundational dates of America — the signing in 1776 of the Declaration of Independence and in 1787 of the Constitution — have been attacked. Citizens are now asked to believe that they have no inspirational or historical value. Statues of the American luminaries have been defaced or toppled. Names on schools and monuments are obliterated. The Soviet-like erasures do not just involve Confederate generals. Often the Founders, such...

Federal agents raided the offices Tuesday of a New York City police union, the Sergeants Benevolent Association, and the Long Island home of its bombastic leader, who has clashed with city officials over his incendiary tweets and hard-line tactics. New York Times economist Paul Krugman is rehashing a batty idea that former Daily Show host and comedian Jon Stewart mocked him for over eight years ago. In a new blog headlined “Wonking Out: Biden Should Ignore the Debt Limit and Mint a $1 Trillion Coin,” Krugman dusted off an old neo-Keynesian idea of his that he peddled in 2013. He suggested Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen “mint a platinum coin with a face value of $1 trillion — no, it needn’t include $1 trillion worth of platinum — deposit it at the Federal Reserve and draw on that account to...

Non-White employees for the City of Seattle were invited to an anti-racist training to explore their internalized racism and given tools on how to free themselves from White supremacy influence, new documents show. Employees "who identify as people of color" were sent an invite to a three-hour optional training, "Internalized Racial Inferiority," in August that excluded White people. It was conducted on Sept. 3 by the city's Race and Social Justice Initiative, radio host Jason Rantz on KTTH reported Monday after filing a public disclosure request for the lesson materials.
