Kerry on Biden: He ‘Literally Had Not Been Aware of What Had Transpired’ on Submarine Deal
National Review ^ | October 5, 2021 | Jim Geraghty

Former Vice President Joe Biden (right) and former Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry carry pizza boxes after an event on Biden’s “No Malarkey!” campaign bus tour in Decorah, Iowa, December 6, 2019. (Shannon Stapleton/Reuters)

In an interview with French television, U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry helpfully explains that President Biden simply had no idea that the U.S.-U.K.-Australia deal on submarines would irk the French government, and “had not been aware of what had transpired.”

Interviewer, surprised: You told Joe Biden that it was not the right-

Kerry: He asked me. He said, ‘what’s the situation?’ and I explained exactly, uh… He was he had not been aware of that, he literally, literally had not been aware of what had transpired. And I don’t want to go into the details of it, but suffice it to say, that that the president… My president is very committed to, um, strengthening the relationship and making sure that this is a small event of the past and moving on to the much more important future.

Golly, who could have possibly predicted that John Kerry would go rogue, act like he’s the smartest guy in the room, and tell an anecdote where the president comes across as a clueless, oblivious novice?

Remember, questioning the 78-year-old president’s ability to remember what he’s been told in briefings, or handle the pressures of the job, is absolutely unacceptable, or at least that is what I keep getting told.

In fairness to the State Dept, the deal was meant to be a secret until it's announcement. Essentially "need to know". Joe, as the public face of the administration had no more need to know than a press secretary. Probably less.

Probably less….

…. Because he’s not in charge.

But National Review was certain that this (Biden and Co.) would be the best outcome of the 2020 election.

Go figure.

...he literally, literally had not been aware of what had transpired...

There's a lot of things of which Joe is unaware. Like where his clothes are after swimming naked in the White House pool. It must be difficult for the house staff to run around trying to get him dressed before he walks outside.

Sounds like Kerry is right behind Biteme with the senility.

John Kerry and a horse walk into a bar to order drinks.

Biden lies because he has never had any talents allowing him to do anything but lie.
Kerry lies because he is a low-life grifting gigolo who’d screw a statue of Lincoln if it would get him elected.
They make an ideal pair of why politicians are what they are - - - because what else could they do?

That Joe was unaware of the deal means either Joe is not in the loop on these decisions or Joe was apprised of the deal and in his senility forgot about it.

It makes total sense once you understand Biden is a place-holder, a card board cut out, a stand in, while others actually run and decide the things his administration does. Biden is not really in charge.

Most days, I believe he’s unaware of who he is, what he is, where he is, or what year it is!

When do you realize you’ve hit bottom?

Well, when John Kerry starts explaining what someone else
has done, and it’s coherent, you really have hit rock
bottom.

Kerry is one clueless wonder.

Joe isn’t even up to that level.

I have subscribed to National Review since 1993 and will not be renewing next year when my current subscription expires.

Was happy to see Victor Davis Hanson last night tell Tucker Carlson that he had resigned from NR...he said just what I have been saying; that NR is just a hack publication of the republican establishment and a consistent Trump-bashing rag.

Sorry NR, you are toast to me.

The fact that he is 78 years old is not the problem. The problem is that he is demented and has dementia.

I don’t think they share much with Biden...and certainly nothing they know he could let out they don’t want him to.

With his cognitive issues he can say anything ‘without notice’ so they have to limit his exposure to the public. Photo ops and very brief mentions are about the it of it.

The rumor was that Slow Joe insisted on pulling out of Afghanistan in the catastrophic way he did, throwing a real Alzheimer's fit, in spite of everybody around him trying desperately to talk him out of it.

Is it any wonder they now keep him in the dark?

Joe would be more capable of being a pizza delivery person than he is as President.
