Sen. Joe Manchin said he does not believe immigration reform will make it into the budget reconciliation bill, delivering a blow to immigration activists who had hoped Democrats would pass a pathway to citizenship without the help of Republicans.
'I don't think it's going to be in there. I really don't,' the West Virginia Democrat told Latino Rebels on Monday afternoon. 'I think it's too big for that.'
Manchin said he is 'totally committed' to the need for immigration reform but but he is unwilling to 'bust the Byrd Rule.'

Poor Joe Manchin. Sitting on his yacht, upset that his days of collecting payoffs growing short.
This payout is going to have to last him for a while, so it needs to be a really, really big payout. But be assured, there is a number.
I guess they’ll be following him into the john soon . . .
Don’t cut anything. Bring the timeline down from ten years to three and you cut the price tag by two thirds and give yourself a campaign issue for 2024.
Here’s an idea. Cut the friggin’ fat out of the bill that’s designed to get you re-elected and just pass the infrastructure part? Do something for us for a change.

Yep. Its all about the numbers with him. What is on the package is just fine as far as he’s concerned - the more new federal programs the better - same for that bisexual thing ; just a lot of grandstanding, face time on TV, and other self-promoting publicity. Neither give a wit about the Constitution, law or anything other than power, the rawer and more naked its use, the better for them.
They are really two different bills - one is the America-ending, Socialist-Nation-Creating 3.5 or 5.5 trillion everything-any-radical-Democrat-or-Communist-ever-dreamed-about bill, and the other is the 1.5 trillion infrastructure bill. The fight is over passing both and also about how much starter money to fund the former (this is what these two a-holes are grandstanding over).
I thought the parliamentarian told them NO to amnesty.
She told them TWICE!
The RATS don’t care.
Here’s the thing... If Manchin has *any* political future after the mid-terms — particularly if the R’s re-take the Senate — it will be as a Republican. He will have to switch parties or retire.
I’m hoping West Virginians area all over this guy. I’m still trying to figure out what is so special about him that they keep sending him back to the Senate. Isn’t it a very Red state?
What if the 8 million don’t want citizenship because they’ll lose the Free Stuff and have to pay taxes ,LOL
America needs translators.
If we need translators, why did Biden leave a bunch of them behind in Afghanistan?
Just kidding; I meant no offense.
You give eight million citizenship and that leaves about twenty million already here in the lurch. Not to mention the eight million that will be injected across the border by Xo Bai-din.
