Medical professionals who are transgender are questioning gender reassignment procedures for children.
Dr. Marci Bowers, who specializes in vaginoplasty, and Erica Anderson, a clinical psychologist at the University of California, San Francisco's Child and Adolescent Gender Clinic, discussed the risks that come with gender reassignment surgery for children.
"I think there was naivete on the part of pediatric endocrinologists who were proponents of early [puberty] blockage thinking that just this magic can happen, that surgeons can do anything," Bowers said.
Bowers operated on transgender reality television star Jazz Jennings in June 2018.
"This is typical of medicine. We zig and then we zag, and I think maybe we zigged a little too far to the left in some cases," Bowers told Bari Weiss's Common Sense regarding whether gender-altering surgery is a good idea.
Anderson is "not sure" whether the psychological effects of transgender surgery are reversible, according to Common Sense.
“I’m not a fan," Bowers said in response to whether children in the early stages of puberty should be put on hormone blockers.

The doctors are concerned about the children, but the politicians are concerned only about destroying traditional values. That’s why the politicians will disregard “the science” on this issue.
What's next up for debate in America? Not giving heroin to babies? Recommendations against swallowing glass shards for breakfast?
No such thing as a “vaginoplasty.” It is a cavity, a created WOUND, that must be prevented from closing and healing over for the rest of one’s pathetic, artificial life.
What a F'ed up nation we have become.

I always wondered how that worked.
Now I have to put aside my lunch. LOL.
San Francisco’s Child and Adolescent Gender Clinic,
Why am I not surprised this comes from San Francisco?
A few years ago I heard an MD interviewed on right wing local radio. He said nearly every one the changed gender people is seeing someone for psychiatric problems. They use the excuse that society is not properly accepting them.
He said the human body knows from the dna outward what is happening and it rejects the unnatural changes being forced upon it. He said it often creates cancer and other diseases to combat the foreign intruders on its natural cells such as the hormones of the other sex or the end of the natural sexual areas of the body. Each sex has a role to play and the body wants to follow that plan.
You’re right, how is it we are even having to discuss this? Probably only a matter of time when the discussion will be about mandatory tranny surgery.
Infection-wise, pretty good odds you live no more than age 45
As long as the CDC, NIH, FDA, and WHO say it's okay, hey, it's okay. Scientific.
This practice is just child abuse for profit. In a just world, anyone who did it would be locked up for a long time.
From San Francisco.....
The illustrious and glorious Gov. Gavin Newsom: What happens in America later happens first in California.
I think the horrible raging inner conflict opens them up to cancers and other pathologies.
I’ve watched that show..JAZ... What a cluster. Parents with no backbone letting a confused child run everything, including their lives.
Where is Captain Obvious?
With an extra dose of DUH Regrets.
Also, that there is a monster under their beds.
It’s completely unnatural and grotesque. Look it up. Various sized “prosthetics” - dildos essentially - must be inserted regularly, increasingly larger, to thwart the healing process. It’s really no different than Chinese foot binding. Look THAT up if you really want to lose your lunch.
Sex change is not possible, but I get his point.
Good point. If they don’t take their own lives first. I know of two that had. I think data would be eye opening on post op trans and suicide.
I remember the good ole days when it was said “Accept yourself”
