MEXICO CITY, Aug 11 (Reuters) - Mexico is building a towering replica of the Templo Mayor, the Aztec civilisation's most sacred site, in the downtown of Mexico City to mark 500 years since the Spanish conquest of the Aztec capital, Tenochtitlan. The mostly white mock temple will be on show in Mexico City's bustling main square, the Zocalo, close to the ruins of the real Templo Mayor, where the Aztecs venerated two main deities with elaborate pageantry and sacrificial offerings. The temple was destroyed by Spanish forces after their 1521 conquest and subsequent razing of Tenochtitlan, which became Mexico City....

ETROIT – Video is being shared on social media of a woman dancing on top of a Detroit police SUV. Detroit Police Department’s interim Chief James White said officers inside the SUV did the right thing by not reacting. The incident happened over the weekend on Detroit’s east side. Members of the Detroit police crowd management team were sent to the area to break up a party. “People surround the car, about 50, 60 people and one of the people decided to get on the hood of the car and dance,” White said. “It’s not a nice video.” Police had...

On April 15, as Breitbart News reported, a group of 34 House Republicans — including Reps. Mo Brooks (R-AL), Louie Gohmert (R-TX), and Matt Rosendale (R-MT) — asked DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for information on where the agency was sending border crossers and illegal aliens after their release into the U.S. interior. This week, Sens. Mike Braun (R-IN), Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), and Cynthia Lummis...

Since the vaccines were first offered to the broader population earlier this year, state and municipal governments across the US have tried to incentivize more adults to get the jabs by offering money, free beer, and entry into a lottery for millions of dollars to try and draw more people to get the vaccine. For some, this has bred resentment, as the vaccinated have questioned why they're being penalized for complying with the government's demands. As France resorts to using more heavy handed measures, like requiring vaccination passports for people to dine at restaurants The FT is the latest to take...

Some big-ticket purchases come with gifts that we are quick to discard. But not for this South Korean man who found something far more valuable instead. He discovered 110 million won (S$130,000) in cash hidden underneath a kimchi refrigerator that he had purchased online, reported MBC News on Monday (Aug 9). While cleaning the fridge, he found hundreds of 50,000 won bills covered in plastic and taped under the household appliance. Instead of keeping the money, the Jeju resident went to the police to lodge a report on Aug 6. A police officer who handled the case told MBC: "It...

During a viral new documentary released on Tuesday, Conservative Talk Show host Nicholas J Fuentes discussed the legal repercussions he has faced after he simply attended former President Trump’s speech on January 6th. Fuentes never entered the capitol building and remained approximately 200 yards away from the nearest entrance. The 23-year-old talk show host says he went to the capitol building following Trump’s speech because the former President said he would also be giving a speech outside the front of the building. “Currently the FBI is pursuing an investigation against me for my involvement at the capitol, I had done...

A new preprint study that raises concerns about the mRNA vaccines' effectiveness against Delta — particularly Pfizer's — has already grabbed the attention of top Biden administration officials. What they're saying: The study found the Pfizer vaccine was only 42% effective against infection in July, when the Delta variant was dominant. "If that's not a wakeup call, I don't know what is," a senior Biden official told Axios. Driving the news: The study, conducted by nference and the Mayo Clinic, compared the effectiveness of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines in the Mayo Clinic Health System over time from January to...

After Mike Lindell's appearance on the April 28, 2021, "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" show, Lead Stories published a story titled "Attention Mike Lindell: What You May Want To Know About The 'Data' Used In Your Stolen Election Claims" that traced some of the data used in Lindell's movies to a man named Dennis L. Montgomery. Lindell has been quite vague on the source of his data and the name "Dennis L. Montgomery" never appears in any of his videos. And with reason: According to the New York Times, Montgomery's own lawyer once called him a "con man" and in the same...

Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation lawsuits against the attorneys Sidney Powell and Rudy Giuliani and MyPillow and its CEO Mike Lindell can move forward, a federal judge ruled Wednesday, dismissing the Trump allies’ motions to have the billion-dollar litigation thrown out over procedural issues and claims that they didn’t defame Dominion with their discredited allegations that the company was involved in election fraud that delivered the presidential election to Joe Biden.

Most media are giving ample coverage to Texas’ COVID woes, as the Delta variant has hospitals running out of ICU beds. But few reports note how President Joe Biden’s border disaster is helping drive the crisis. US border agents encountered nearly 189,000 migrants in June alone, the latest in a string of record-setting months. And the Biden administration is releasing many of these illegal entrants into the interior. Plus, that surge surely means a similarly huge rise in migrants who never get caught. Especially since Team Biden won’t let Texas authorities do any immigration enforcement of their own. More than...

The State Department has issued an advisory recommending that travelers reconsider going to Italy due to COVID-19. Anyone coming to the U.S. from Italy must provide a negative COVID-19 viral test taken within three calendar days of travel. Murphy said he...

When the sovereign power of the regime—which includes but is not limited to the government—changes from one ruling principle to another (say, from consent and political equality to antiracism and equity) the regime has transformed into something else. The new ruling authority is a new regime. Never mind election fraud; the question people on the Right must now consider is whether a completely fair election, or even several elections, could reasonably be expected to change the ruling element, the “preponderant part” which defines justice. What would it take to replace the true sovereign power that is the regime? Such a...
