Arcflash Labs has developed what it calls the world's first and only handheld Gauss rifle, capable of firing metal projectiles at lower velocities. The company says the weapon is “capable of accelerating any ferromagnetic projectile (under 1/2″ in diameter) to 200+ fps [feet per second]” and can produce up to 100 Joules of force, or 75 foot-pounds, similar to the muzzle energy of some .22 rifles, making it the “most powerful coilgun ever sold to the public, and also (very likely) the most powerful handheld coilgun ever built.” Arcflash's rifle measures 38 inches in length with a barrel length of...

Pray For the Peace of JerusalemPsalm 128 A song of ascents. 1 Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him. 2 You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. 3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. 4 Yes, this will be the blessing for the man who fears the Lord. 5 May the Lord bless you from Zion; may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life. 6 May you...

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Since the pandemic began, just 26 of the 11,600 people in Alabama who have died of COVID-19 were fully vaccinated, State Health Officer Scott Harris said Friday. And most of the nearly 2,000 COVID-19 patients currently in state hospitals are also unvaccinated, he said. Harris released the numbers as the state tries to boost lagging vaccination rates. Health officials say recent cases resulting in severe illness and death could have largely been prevented if people had gotten inoculated.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department has shared body camera video that shows the dramatic moments after a deputy was exposed to fentanyl during an arrest last month. Fortunately, another officer was there with him. It happened on July 3, as a patrol deputy was processing drugs at the scene of an arrest. In a documentary-style video released Wednesday by the sheriff's department showing the bodycam footage, Corporal Scott Crane explained it was his trainee who was exposed to fentanyl. He said it was their first radio call of the day. In the body camera video, Crane can be heard...

REO Speedwagon frontman Kevin Cronin has responded to online commenters questioning the seriousness of the COVID-19 pandemic. The band recently canceled two shows after members of the REO Speedwagon team were diagnosed with the virus. In a message posted to Facebook, Cronin updated fans on his health. “As I sit alone in quarantine, dealing with the reduced, yet uncomfortable symptoms of Covid-19, and reading the comments regarding the shows we made the painful decision to cancel this weekend, I am struck by two things,” the frontman began. “First, on behalf of myself, our entire band, crew, and management, I would...

The number of coronavirus patients in Los Angeles County hospitals grew again Saturday, increasing by 50 to 1,433 -- the most since the beginning of March. That number includes 329 people in intensive care, an increase from the 303 reported on Friday, according to state figures. The latest hospitalization numbers came one day after the county health department reported nearly 4,000 new COVID-19 infections, the highest number since Feb. 6. Officials attributed the large number in part to increased testing being required by businesses and schools. The 3,930 new cases on Friday brought the county's cumulative total from throughout the...

Under dappled sunlight filtering through the trees of Observatory Hill Friday morning, workers using a crane removed a large boulder from the UW-Madison campus that had become for many a painful symbol of the university’s racist past. Chamberlin Rock, named for former university president and geologist Thomas Crowder Chamberlin, was at least once referred to as a “n——-head” rock in a 1925 Wisconsin State Journal story. University historians have not found any other time that the slur was used. But the Ku Klux Klan was active on campus during that time. And the recent rediscovery of that long-ago news article...

Late (and seemingly past midnight) the night of August 6-7 of 2001, two teenage* lovers named Vishal Sharma and Sonu were hanged in the Uttar Pradesh village of Alinagar ka Majra, for loving across the caste line. Late on Monday night [Monday, August 6, 2001 -ed.] the week before last, a neighbour caught the pair together as they chatted on the roadside next to a bush. She accused them of having “suspicious intentions” and dragged them into her shed. And then she summoned their families. It was not that the teenagers had been caught in flagrante — they were not...

UK transport minister Grant Shapps says that countries will demand full vaccination “forevermore” and that young people “won’t be able to leave the country” without being double jabbed. Shapps made the comments during an appearance on BBC Radio 4’s Today show. “I think double vaccination, full vaccination, is going to be a feature forevermore and most countries, probably all countries, will require full vaccination in order for you to enter,” said the minister. “It’s important to understand that there are simply going to be things that you will not be able to do unless you’re double-vaccinated or have a...

For months, we’ve been warning people that Covid-19 “vaccine” totalitarianism would eventually lead to government taking our kids if we don’t let them get the jab. Well, it’s happening. Dr. Robert Malone, the inventor of the very mRNA technology used in Pfizer and Moderna injections, was on with Steve Bannon on War Room today to explain the situation that’s unfolding in Boston, MA. A 14-year-old child who wants to be vaccinated could not get her parents’ permission, so the court has stepped in and revoked custody in order for her to get vaccinated without their consent. “So, I’ve been called...

Eighteenth Week in Ordinary Time Matthew 17:14-20 Friends, today in our Gospel, we meet a boy driven mad by a demon whom the disciples could not heal. They asked Jesus why they had failed, and he said, “Because of your little faith. Amen, I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” In all circumstances, you have to pray with faith. Have you noticed how Jesus, time and again, says to people before working...

Lindsey Graham had been collaborating heavily with Senator John McCain before Sen. McCain passed away in 2018. During this time Sen. Graham was negotiating for another amnesty, and taking positions that were very unpopular in his home state. Either due to COVID or due to his busy schedule, there was no in person town hall meeting. However, any in person town hall meeting that had actual live persons asking questions, would have been highly embarrassing to Senator Graham, who was actively cutting deals with Democrats. Senator Graham instead, used a scheduled "live telephone town hall" format to answer questions. However,...

Similarly, we will cooperate with all law enforcement agencies, as...

Gov. Andrew Cuomo was recorded crooning a 1960s love song to a female aide less than half his age during a phone call in 2019, according to the blockbuster report on sexual harassment allegations against him released Tuesday. The three-term Democrat sang several lines from “Do You Love Me?” by the Contours when then-aide Charlotte Bennett called him, a one-minute, nine-second audio clip posted online by Attorney General Letitia James revealed.

Explanation: Get out your red-blue glasses and hover over the surface of Mars. Taken on July 24, the 3D color view is from the Mars Ingenuity Helicopter's 10th flight above the Red Planet. Two images from Ingenuity's color camera, both captured at an altitude of 12 meters (40 feet), but a few meters apart to provide a stereo perspective, were used to construct the color anaglyph. Ingenuity's stereo images were made at the request of the Mars Perseverance rover science team. The team is considering a visit to these raised ridges on the floor of Jezero Crater during Perseverance's first...

Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., announced Friday that he intends to file articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, citing the administration’s handling of the crisis at the southern border. "Secretary Mayorkas is a threat to the sovereignty and security of our nation," Biggs said in a statement. "As a result of his actions and policies, America is more in danger today than when he began serving as Secretary." Biggs is not the first Republican to criticize the administration, and Mayorkas specifically, for the crisis at the southern border -- which has seen a dramatic surge in migrant encounters...

Intermittent-fasting diets may help prevent infections in those who practice them, a study published Thursday by the journal PLOS Pathogens found. Mice orally infected with a bacteria responsible for most stomach viruses that were put on a fast for 48 hours before exposure had fewer signs of bacterial infection compared with those that were fed, the researchers said. The mice in the study were infected with Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium, which causes gastroenteritis, an infection humans experience as abdominal cramps, diarrhea and vomiting, researchers said. However, when fasted mice were infected with Salmonella intravenously, they did not have similar protection...
