Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has harshly responded to the Department of Justice and the Biden administration over their lawsuit filed against his state’s new voting law. At a news conference yesterday, Kemp said: “Let me be clear: The Department of Justice lawsuit announced today is legally and constitutionally dead wrong. Their faults and baseless accusations are quite honestly disgusting.” Kemp described the DOJ’s lawsuit as a “politically motivated assault on the rule of law.”

The story of the College World Series — the NCAA removing North Carolina State's baseball team from the event for positive COVID tests — broke in the middle of the night, at 1:10 a.m. Saturday. Wolfpack players took a team photo on the field a half-hour later. One of the team's players, relief pitcher Cameron Cotter, was not pleased with the NCAA's decision and shared his frustration on Twitter. Flipping the bird with his right middle finger, Cotter held, in his left hand, an unfolded piece of paper with the words National Committee Against Athletes. "To say that the NCAA...

It may not be quite hyperinflation – loosely defined as pricing rising at a double-digit clip or higher – but if former Treasury Secretary and erstwhile democrat Larry Summers is right, it will be halfway there in about six months. One day after Bank of America warned that the coming “hyperinflation” will last at least 2 and as much as 4 years – whether or not one defines that as transitory depends on whether one has a Federal Reserve charge card to fund all purchases in the next 4 years – Larry Summers, who is this close from being excommunicated...

“The Grace of Giving” (2 Corinthians 8:1-9, 13-15) Today let’s talk about giving. Yes, that’s right, giving--like we do when we put offerings into the offering plate. Usually that’s a subject we like to avoid. People become defensive or uncomfortable if the subject of giving comes up. They’ll make excuses for why they can’t give more. They instinctively reach for their wallets and hold on tight, so that no one can get in there. And they close their ears as well. People don’t like to have someone put pressure on them to put more in the plate, like this is...

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s (D) administration recommended Friday students continue wearing masks in the classroom next school year. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) issued a “layered” strategy in guidance to school districts. The agency indicated the top priority is “promoting vaccination,” followed by “face masks;” “social distancing;” “COVID-19 screening, testing, and contact tracing;” and “maintaining healthy environments.” MDHHS published a graphic likening mitigation measures to a holey piece of Swiss cheese. Each of them individually would not stop the virus from spreading (including masks), only all five would smother the spread, it implied. “These vaccines are...

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. ( Matthew 18:19-20)A good many people have written me over the years , asking me to recommend churches in given areas. They tell me they simply cannot find a church that they can...

How often at your workplace have you held your tongue out of fear of saying something that could get you fired? Everyone looks out for their interests. We naturally try to do that which best serves ourselves and our families. It is called human nature and it has served mankind well since the Creation. The people we send to government are no different. They can’t be different, for they are one of us, and as imperfect as the rest of mankind. First, we must understand that most of the chosen 535 members of congress had to claw, grasp, climb their...

The rites and habits associated with ‘midsummer’ clustered around a number of dates in Shakespeare’s time. The June solstice occurs on a day between the 20 and 22 June, but ‘Midsummer Day’ was fixed in the calendar as 24 June (also known as St John’s Day). Midsummer was one of the most popular and keenly-observed festivals throughout the early modern period. Rural communities marked it with Morris dancing, processions, late-night drinking, the blessing of crops and the ritual banishment of devils and other unwelcome sprites – precisely the sort of pagan-originating, Catholic-saint-encompassing mishmash that Protestant reformers despised. But by the...

President Trump is holding his first rally in Ohio on Saturday night at 7 PM Eastern. The crowds started lining up to see Trump early in the morning. It will be a historic event! Independent journalist Brendan Gutenschwager posted this up moments ago. Having been to an earlier Trump event this seemed a bit odd. We witnessed excellent security when we attended a massive Trump rally in the fall in Pennsylvania. But we did not see armed men in green uniforms.
