A quarter of a century has passed and three popes have come and gone since the last major survey on religious belief in Italy, in 1995. And now that a new survey has provided all the data, it is known that the Catholic faith has dimmed a great deal, despite the vast consensus surrounding the current pope and primate of Italy, Francis. “People of little faith” is the title of the first book to gave an account of the new survey, by Franco Garelli of the University of Turin, from the presses of the publisher il Mulino. “Uncertain faith” is...

Archdiocese of Milwaukee prevails against COVID-19 policy banning visitors since March 2020.For the first time in 15 months, priests in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee will be allowed into Wisconsin’s prisons to offer Holy Mass and administer sacraments to inmates under an order signed Monday by a circuit court judge. Clergy and other visitors have been barred from Wisconsin correctional facilities since March 2020 under a state policy aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19. The Archdiocese of Milwaukee sued the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and its secretary, Kevin A. Carr, on May 7, 2021 in Jefferson County Circuit Court. Archdiocese...

"DENVER (AP) — A police officer who was one of three people killed in a shooting at a suburban Denver shopping district was ambushed by a suspect who expressed hatred toward police, authorities said Tuesday." Chief Strate on Tuesday identified that man (hero) as John Hurley, 40, of nearby Golden. Without elaborating on what he did, Strate called Hurley a “true hero who likely disrupted what could have been a larger loss of life.” The chief said there was no connection between Hurley and the suspect. Arvada police spokesman Dave Snelling declined to say who shot the suspect, saying that...

The Bishop of St Davids in the Anglican Church in Wales is on sick leave amid pressure on her to resign. Dr Joanna Penberthy is at the centre of a political storm over her "never trust a Tory" tweet in March, for which she apologised and closed down her Twitter account. "I, of course, trust and have trusted many Conservatives and know there are many honourable people in that party," she said, adding that she was sorry her tweets "may have caused upset and offence". The US-based website, Anglican Ink, reports that the Archdeacons of her diocese have written to...

Thomas Sowell is an icon. And, now, he has a biographer. While Sowell himself has written, by my count, 43 books, Jason Riley’s 2021 Maverick seems remarkably to be the first-ever major press biography of the heterodox African-American giant. Riley’s book sums up most of the key themes of Sowell’s thought, including the Anointed and Constrained visions of human behavior, the fact that the plain existence of racism does not explain most differences in group performance, and the idea of quantitative culturalism as an alternative to both “critical race theory” and genetic determinism. Sowell’s biographer also sums up two factual...

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell acknowledged Tuesday that some inflation pressures are stronger and more persistent than he had anticipated, though still not on par with some of the worst episodes the U.S. has seen historically. Under questioning from a special House panel, the central bank leader continued to attribute most of the recent inflation surge to factors closely tied to the economic reopening. Among them, Powell cited airline tickets, hotel prices and lumber along with generally surging consumer demand pumping up an economy that a year ago faced substantial government-imposed restrictions in the early days of Covid-19. Those factors,...

On Friday, US President Joe Biden was asked about a "resolution" of the U.S. bishops to deny him and other pro-abortion politicians Communion – even though their vote this week was on drafting the teaching document, not any national policy of denying Communion. “That’s a private matter and I don’t think that is going to happen,” Biden said. Te U.S. bishops held their annual spring general assembly this week. The bishops debated drafting a document on the Eucharist, which would include a sub-section on “Eucharistic coherence,” or worthiness to receive Communion. In a proposed outline of the document, the bishops’...

I'm just wondering about the possibility of the MnRA vaccines being used to change the human body to create dependency on some nutrient that only the elites can provide? Similar to how feline species need Taurine to survive and cannot survive without it? I don't personally think anything is too low for our elites to do to protect their positions in society and make it ultimately impossible to rebel.

...Moderna...says it also intends to test the effectiveness of a third dose of its original coronavirus vaccine, and is looking into the possibility of a multivalent vaccine, said Tal Zaks, Moderna’s chief scientific officer, in a 25 January call with investors. But before deciding on any path, researchers will need to study how animals, and probably humans, respond to any potential vaccine update, says Subbarao.“It’s not going to be as simple as [altering] an amino acid site and saying ‘okay we got it’.”...How will vaccines be trialled and approved? Vaccine developers tested the currently available COVID-19 vaccines in phase III...

California teachers unions are teaming up with Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom to keep COVID-19 restrictions on learning even after students return to in-person schooling this fall. While children only represent 13 percent of all COVID-19 cases and a much smaller percentage of total deaths, the state’s health department and Newsom are requiring all children in government K-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask in school this fall. 15% of our population remains without the option for vaccination (children under 12 years old are not yet eligible) and risk for COVID-19 exposure and infection will remain until we...

Abp. Viganò: About some declarations of Professor Roberto de Mattei which recently appeared at ‘Corrispondenza Romana’If I have spoken evil, give testimony of the evil; but I have spoken well, why do you strike me?' ~ Jn 18:23 June 22, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – The article The Viganò Case: The Archbishop and His Double, which appeared yesterday at Corrispondenza Romana in both Italian and English, signed by Professor Roberto de Mattei, has been pointed out to me. I am unable not to express my amazement at the statements that an illustrious Catholic intellectual, hailed as a champion of Tradition and who...

California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who has grown unpopular in the state due to several policy stances at odds with the Democratic base, appeared to contradict a statement her own office released Monday on voting rights. Ahead of the Senate's Tuesday vote on the "For the People Act" — a broad-sweeping elections bill unlikely to draw any Republican support — Feinstein's office released a statement announcing the senior senator's strong support for the package, which is intended to counteract Republican election laws passed at the state level following the 2020 presidential election. Feinstein was previously criticized by liberals for not wanting...

The first UFO term in the title means, of course, “Unidentified Flying Objects;” the second means “United Fakenews Organizations.” Why suddenly are UFOs trending everywhere? Previous UFO eruptions occurred in 1947, 1952, and 1965. However, the UFO furor of 2020-2021 differs from all others because it is the first substantial UFO scare after President Carter created the Department of Education in 1979. Formally, it all started six months ago, when the requirement for U.S. government agencies to reveal what they know about the UFO had been sneaked into the massive COVID-19 relief bill with significant bipartisan support. The support was...

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The number of people stopped from buying guns through the U.S. background check system hit an all-time high of more than 300,000 last year amid a surge of firearm sales, according to new records obtained by the group Everytown for Gun Safety. The FBI numbers provided to The Associated Press show the background checks blocked nearly twice as many gun sales in 2020 as in the year before. About 42% of those denials were because the would-be buyers had felony convictions on their records.
