WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Earlier today, the South Dakota House of Representatives by an overwhelming vote of 67 -- 2 soundly rejected Governor Noem's "style and form" veto of HB 1217, the Fairness in Women's Sports Act. Governor Noem quickly responded today by again refusing to sign HB 1217, effectively killing the bill. Despite Governor Noem's veto of this bill and refusal to take a strong stand for women's sports, the House's nearly unanimous vote is a strong rebuke of the NCAA and the tentacles of Big Business that pressured Governor Noem to retreat from her earlier support of the bill...

Did a military mascot gain control of the U.S. Strategic Command Twitter account or has someone inadvertently released the launch code for a nuclear weapon? These were among the questions asked by commenters after the command, at 8:48 a.m. Monday, tweeted the sequence “;l;;gmlxzssaw.” The unusual message had received more than 12,000 likes, 9,000 retweets and hundreds of comments less than an hour after it was posted. “Apologizes for any confusion. Please disregard this post,” the command, at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., tweeted in vain after the original message.

Republicans had sought to institute control over the funds because they said that their was not enough transparency with how the Evers administration had...

"I'm reiterating my call for every governor, mayor and local leader to maintain and reinstate the mask mandate," Biden said at an event intended to highlight the rapid increase in vaccine eligibility. "Please, this is not politics. Reinstate the mandate if you let it down. Asked later if some states should pause reopening efforts, Biden said "yes."

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced Monday that he would be taking executive action against the “vaccine passports” being developed by the Biden regime and private corporations to deny Americans the right to commerce if they cannot provide proof of receiving a COVID vaccination shot on the spot. “You want the fox to guard the hen house? I mean, give me a break,” DeSantis said. “I think this is something that has huge privacy implications, it is not necessary to do.” DeSantis said that while it’s “important” for vulnerable populations to be able to take the vaccine, “we are not going...

No matter how otherwise impressive your spread of dishes might be, without a glossy, golden-brown ham at the center of the table, an Easter feast just doesn't feel complete. These seven recipes—for ham cooked sous vide, glazed with maple, rubbed with mustard and brown sugar, and more—will help you get the star player in your Easter dinner just right. Cooking big roasts for the holidays tends to bring out two of our worst fears. First, of course, there's the worry that we'll overcook it, thus destroying the enormous chunk of meat we've invested in. Second, we dread the judgment we'd...

Anthony Fauci, who plays a doctor on TV, is and always been a snake oil salesman. He has lied about face masks and everything else since the Chinese Wuhan virus, which escaped from a lab in Wuhan, first appeared. He cost untold thousands of lives by thwarting the full deployment of hydroxychloroquine in the early staes of the virus spread dspite evidence of the efficacy if this veal drug that had been safely used to treat other conditions for decades. I, for one, would trust Dr. Seuss for my medical needs before I trusted Dr. Fauci. Now, following Joe Biden’s...

In a new first for genetic engineering, scientists have developed a single-celled synthetic organism that grows and divides much like a normal cell, mimicking aspects of the cell division cycle that underlies and generates healthy living cellular life. The achievement, demonstrated in an engineered unicellular bacteria-like life form called JCVI-syn3A, is the result of decades of genomic sequencing and analysis by scientists, exploring the roles individual genes play inside living creatures. This organism, called JCVI-syn3.0, only possessed 473 genes in total – shorter than any known self-sustaining, living organism in the natural world. But while JCVI-syn3.0's miniaturized genetic toolkit enabled...

Once you have the infrastructure, and public acceptance, of carrying around a card that gives you privileges, or penalties, based on your immunization status, the architecture will be routinely expanded to give you privileges or sanctions based on any other kind of status, such as your status as a Correct-Thinking Individual. Count on it. The passports are expected to be free and available through smartphone apps, which could display a scannable code similar to an airline boarding pass The Biden administration and private companies are working to develop a standard way of handling credentials -- often referred to as "vaccine...

Last week, Human Rights Watch quoted witnesses in the city as saying they saw bodies on the streets and that militants were firing indiscriminately at people and buildings. "Al-Shabab fired on civilians in their homes and on the streets in Palma, as they tried to flee for their lives," Dewa Mavhinga, Southern Africa director at Human Rights Watch, said. He called on Mozambique to protect civilians "and bring all those responsible for abuses to account." The Cabo Delgado LNG project has been a recurring concern due to the fragile security situation in the region. Paris-based Total had to shut down...

The nationwide eviction moratorium is being extended through June 30, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Monday. The protection was scheduled to expire in two days on March 31. The CDC says the COVID-19 pandemic has presented a historic threat to the nation’s public health. Keeping people in their homes and out of crowded or congregate settings — like homeless shelters — by preventing evictions is a key step in helping to stop the spread of COVID-19. Around 20% of adult renters said they didn’t pay last month’s rent, according to a survey published in March by the...
