The mainstream media have a totally different approach to the Biden administration, unlike Trump’s administration which was under constant attack from the media, Biden’s team is having a leisure opponent. The same goes for their press secretaries. When Kayleigh McEnany was press secretary the MSM attacked her for very strange reasons, One of the mainstream media headlines at the time was: Why does White House Press Secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, thumb through a notebook in order to answer questions from the press like it is a high school debate? The answer is easy, Kayleigh McEnany, was able to run through a...

VIDEOI like boiled corned beef but, let's face it, too much of it can be boring. And since I have been eating a lot of corned beef lately due to the sales on it leading into St. Patrick's Day, this year I decided to switch gears and smoke a four pound corned beef using a maple syrup rub with some other ingredients which you can see in the recipe below. The result was much better than I expected to the extent that I plan to primarily smoke my corned beef rather than boil it in the future.Recipe:4 lbs corned beef...

A fan blade that snapped off a United Airlines engine mid-flight, causing it to rain debris over Colorado last month, had microscopic cracks, federal investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board said Friday. The engine part was last inspected more than four years ago. The Boeing 777 made an emergency landing back at Denver International Airport on Feb. 20 after the engine caught on fire soon after takeoff. No one onboard or on the ground was injured. The broken blade on the Pratt & Whitney engine had been used on 2,979 flights since its last inspection in 2016, the NTSB...

Multiple high-level aides to Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo have resigned as of Friday, following allegations of sexual harassment against Cuomo and questions about his handling of nursing homes during the pandemic. Some of the most notable outgoing staffers are Cuomo’s top coronavirus aide Gareth Rhodes, healthcare analyst Erin Hammond, and his scheduler Sophie Boldison, according to the New York Post. At least five staffers have resigned from Cuomo’s office in recent days, according to the Post...

“The removal of so many iconic, beautiful palm trees, including royal palms, will have a negative impact on our historic, cultural and economic brand,” Meiner wrote in an email. “Millions of tourists throughout the U.S. and the world annually visit Miami Beach and palm trees are an integral part of our brand. There are only a handful of tropical climates in the United States where palm trees can grow.”

Its name sounds impressive: the Independent American Center of Political Monitoring. So does the umbrella organization it says it's a part of: the International Expert Center for Electoral Systems. Along with official observers from the European Union, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, and other international bodies, members of the group were in Azerbaijan this week to observe the October 9 presidential election. But ask any Azerbaijan-watcher or journalist outside of the pro-government media who they are and nobody seems to know for sure. Some have never heard of the organization. Others suspect that they're paid by Baku...

...60 percent of Americans last June described George Floyd’s death as murder—that figure has since plummeted to 36 percent. Corresponding to that is a fourfold increase in the number of people who say they don’t know how to describe the video of Chauvin kneeling on Floyd. Roughly the same number of people as last year think that Chauvin was negligent, while there’s been a notable uptick in the number of people who think he did nothing wrong.... Both a majority of whites and blacks agree that Chauvin ought to be convicted on some charge, though only a narrow majority of...

This week, Barack Obama passed Franklin Roosevelt for the longest presidential tenure in American history. What's that, you say? — president for longer than FDR? But FDR was elected president four times; Obama was elected president two times. Yes, all of that is true. That's why this record has an asterisk next to it. For anyone with eyes to see, the current presidency is being run by Barack Obama. White House coronavirus adviser and longtime federal infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci was warned as early as March of 2020 that tests widely used to diagnose COVID-19 could suffer from high levels of false positive results, a problem that was confirmed by the World Health Organization earlier this year. The warning was given in a Mar. 22, 2020 email to Fauci from Sin Hang Lee, the director of the Milford Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory in Milford, Conn. The message was part of a large batch of emails and other records recently obtained by Judicial Watch and the Daily Caller News Foundation....

Imagine arriving at a courtroom and being told that instead of being “innocent until proven guilty,” you must prove your innocence or be convicted of a crime. Regardless of the good intentions behind them, laws like the Equality Act are bad laws because they make us all guilty until proven innocent. For those who do not know, the Equality Act patches the Civil Rights Acts (1866, 1957, 1964, and 1991) to include a prohibition against discrimination by “sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity).” This is designed to protect women and “LGBT+” people. On the surface, it seems like passing...

Ohio’s Mike DeWine chose not to join some fellow Republican governors in other states in rushing to almost immediately lift coronavirus restrictions. But just exactly when could Ohio reach the goal set by DeWine is unclear. The COVID-19 tracking measure DeWine announced Thursday evening for when he will drop the restrictions is not one that had been regularly publicized by the state, and the full historical trend was not immediately available. But state health officials said Friday cases would have to drop to a mid-June level to meet the benchmark the governor described - 50 new cases per 100,000 residents...

On this date in 1855 a wealthy farmer named Manuel da Mota Coqueiro — “the Beast of Macabu” in the popular nomenclature — was hanged for orchestrating the slaughter of a tenant farmer and his entire family. Mota Coqueiro — that’s a Portuguese link, as are almost all sources about this gentleman — ticked the “motive” box thanks to his running conflict with the victim, Francisco Benedito da Silva. Mota Coqueiro had had an affair with Benedito’s daughter Francisca and the two men quarreled thereafter over compensation for Francisca’s resulting pregnancy — quarrels that broadened over the course of 1852...

It is an ironic twist of history that two American women should have been the cause of political crises in Britain and led to concern that they might affect the powers and even the very existence of the monarchy. In the 1930s, the Prince of Wales, to become Edward VIII, fell in love with Wallis Simpson while she was still married to someone else. In his chatty diaries, Henry “Chips” Channon wrote on December 5, 1936 that “the King, like the poor Tsar and Louis XVI will listen to no advice and is running straight to his doom.” Eighty years...

Though the populist tide seems to have ebbed, it will rise again, and soon. The problem that ignited populist sentiment in the first place, whether on the left or the right, remains: the country’s economic and financial system has failed much of the population and is rigged to the benefit of a government-business elite. Resistance to this inequity elevated Trump and pulled the Democratic Party to the left and will continue to roil American politics until things change. The economy’s “rigging” has developed gradually over time and often from the best of intentions. When politicians, corporate executives, pundits, journalists, academics...
