Why The Equality Act Is Bad Law

Imagine arriving at a courtroom and being told that instead of being “innocent until proven guilty,” you must prove your innocence or be convicted of a crime. Regardless of the good intentions behind them, laws like the Equality Act are bad laws because they make us all guilty until proven innocent.

For those who do not know, the Equality Act patches the Civil Rights Acts (1866, 1957, 1964, and 1991) to include a prohibition against discrimination by “sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity).” This is designed to protect women and “LGBT+” people.

On the surface, it seems like passing a law against discrimination would be a good thing. We all want to be judged by the “content of our character” and our abilities, not something we see as external to who we are, like our heritage, sex, or sexual preference.

We are accustomed to seeing government and law as solutions to this fear. If someone is discriminated against, they can use the law to fight for what they wanted and were denied. However, laws do not exist in the moment; they influence how people act to avoid legal penalties.

If you run a business, you realize that to stay out of court, you need evidence to prove that you are not in fact discriminating, and the only way to do that is to hire someone from the protected group in advance and to have a “woke” corporate policy in your advertising.

That way, if someone does make a claim against you, you can prove your innocence with the evidence of your prior obedience to the anti-discrimination policy. It is like the old suburban riff, “Some of my best friends are from protected groups…”

I believe the liberals know they can’t legislate justice or fairness. These acts are just grist for their followers who live in a fantasy world. By selling the lies, the left acquires the power to install their totalitarian regime.

“Equality” is a chimera, a term that changes meaning depending on who is using it.

Equality in squalor and misery is no equality at all, it is near-universal oppression, with only a few at the top being much more “equal” than everybody in the subservient position.

“Equal under the law” is not at all the same thing as “equal outcome”. “Equal opportunity” has come to mean handicapping the more gifted or more persistent to “even up” the disadvantage someone else may suffer from.

There is no way to discern when things are “even”. Either one is ahead of or behind another in any of the multitude of possible comparisons that may distinguish between each of us. There is no room left to find the person’s own level, and carve out a niche in which to dwell in personal satisfaction.

In March 2019, Harris cosponsored the Equality Act, which would amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 . Among other things, the bill would force public schools to expand female athletic teams to include biological males who identify as transgender girls

Queers should NEVER be allowed to interact with kids. Because they can’t breed more queers and have to recruit.

The equality act is deliberately misnamed. It is the equity act. And, equity is now a corrupted word (e.g., like gay)that is intended to allow its authors to impose their political views on you. Their political views are based upon identity politics which is another word (corrupted) for racism.
Call it for what it is, folks! It is institutionalized racism. We are back to JimCrow laws, at best.
The goal is suppression. Censorship. Elimination. That is the path for all communist regimes. We are in that now.

Sex is external to who we are??

And sexual preference is also internal to who we are. They’re always telling us that homos and delusional are born that way and that is why we shouldn’t try to “fix” them.

"Imagine arriving at a courtroom and being told that instead of being “innocent until proven guilty,” you must prove your innocence or be convicted of a crime."

"Once upon a time" that was exactly the standard for "jurisprudence". The American "innocent until proven" guilty was a totally revolutionary meme at the time.

Some vestiges of the above still exist in the Napoleonic Code residuum of the laws in the state of Louisiana (my home state).
