Pope Francis took a very strong pro-vaccine stand in a television interview in which he said that those who don’t want the vaccine are moved by a “suicidal denialism.” “I think ethically that everyone should take the vaccine,” the pope told Italian journalist Fabio Marchese Ragona. “It should be done, it’s not an option.” Remember all the people who called us crazed, conspiracy nuts because we’ve been saying for nearly a year that the COVID-19 vaccine would be made mandatory? Funny thing, those same people are now lining up to take the jab, begging for it actually, and saying it...

Senators make laws, provide for the common defense, they don't shovel snow or repair power grids Here’s what a U.S. senator does: Make laws, authorize and appropriate federal funds, provide for the common defense and the general welfare, regulate commerce among the states and with foreign nations, declare war and maintain and regulate the military, impeach federal officers including the president, advise and consent to treaties and appointments of judges and federal officials. Cruz was seen boarding a plane and, with social media, the photos quickly went viral. What followed was the dumbest “scandal” ever. The New York Times did...

On Thursday, the National Health Commission issued a statement saying it will conduct research to “further stimulate birth potential.” It said the initiative will focus first on northeastern China, the country’s former industrial heartland that has seen a major population decline as young people and families depart for better opportunities elsewhere. The region comprising the three provinces of Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang saw its total population decline for the seventh straight year by 427,300 in 2019 over 2018. Authorities said last week that registered new births fell 15.3% last year to just 10 million.

Del Rio, Texas, Democratic Mayor Bruno Lozano is calling on Biden to halt the release of migrants into the area as the state is still battling the brutal winter storm that wreaked havoc this week. In the clip, Lozano “pleaded” with Biden to stop “any measures regarding the release of immigrants awaiting court dates into the City of Del Rio and surrounding areas.” “After the extreme weather and emergency conditions in the area, the city does not have the resources...

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), which manages 75 percent of the Lone Star State’s electric grid, did not conduct any on-site inspections of its power plants to evaluate their winter preparedness due to COVID-19 protocols, a report from NBC 5 in Dallas suggests. Instead of sending inspectors to complete important examinations at state power facilities to ensure they were adequately equipped to handle winter weather and high electricity demands, ERCOT management chose to host “virtual tabletop exercises” for only a portion of their plants, keeping their in-person contact limited to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Beyond permitting only...

Is time to be talking about a replacement for Rush?

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis says flags will fly at half-staff in honor of conservative talk radio pioneer Rush Limbaugh, who died Wednesday from terminal lung cancer. DeSantis made the announcement during a press conference in West Palm Beach Friday morning. The governor says once funeral arrangements are made for Limbaugh, the state will lower the flags. “I know they’re still figuring out the arrangements, but what we do when there’s things of this magnitude, once the date of interment for Rush is announced, we’re gonna be lowering the flags to half-staff,” the governor says.

Life should return to normal — more or less — by Christmas, Dr. Anthony Fauci predicted Thursday. In an interview with MSNBC, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases warned that there were many variables at play and returning to some sort of normalcy “is not a mathematical formula…it’s a question of estimates.” But he agreed with President Joe Biden’s estimate that things will start getting back to normal “by the end of the year, by Christmas.”

Now, Saturday Night Live Donald Trump impersonator Alec Baldwin has thrown support behind Kim on social media. “If Cuomo threatened Ron Kim’s career, Cuomo should resign,” Baldwin tweeted Thursday morning. The tweet comes approximately one month after Baldwin’s public exit from the social media platform, in the wake of wife Hillaria Baldwin’s “Spanish heritage” controversy. “Twitter is like a party where everyone is screaming. Not much of a party,” the actor tweeted on January 18. “Goodbye for now.” Hillaria later apologized.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Biden administration says it's ready to join talks with Iran and world powers to discuss a return to the 2015 nuclear deal, in a sharp repudiation of former President Donald Trump’s “maximum pressure campaign” that sought to isolate the Islamic Republic. The administration also took two steps at the United Nations aimed at restoring policy to what it was before Trump withdrew from the deal in 2018. The combined actions were immediately criticized by Iran hawks and drew concern from Israel, which said it was committed to keeping Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Besides signaling Thursday...

We currently have suspended six of those officers with pay,” the statement read. Some Capitol Police officers were caught on video watching...

Hugo's death from pneumonia on 22 May 1885, at the age of 83, generated intense national mourning. He was not only revered as a towering figure in literature, he was a statesman who shaped the Third Republic and democracy in France. All his life he remained a defender of liberty, equality and fraternity as well as an adamant champion of French culture. In 1877, aged 75, he wrote, "I am not one of these sweet-tempered old men. I am still exasperated and violent. I shout and I feel indignant and I cry. Woe to anyone who harms France! I do...

“Trump isn’t getting reinstated until after he wins the 2024 election.” =========================================================== Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-Florida) suggested Thursday that Capitol Police and Democrats are hyping up the bizarre online theories of QAnon as justification for keeping Washington DC under ‘occupation’. Following a story in Newsweek that highlighted how some QAnon followers believe President Trump is to be ‘reinstalled’ on March 4th, Capitol authorities and Democrats used it as a reason to keep troops and razor wire fences in place. During a Wednesday hearing, House Armed Services Committee Chairman Adam Smith said “Some of these people have figured out that apparently...

Joe Biden is proving to be exactly what we expected- a pathetic doddering old dementia-affected man. In the last few days he's determined to validate the belief. To wit: Biden quits work at 7 pm and is back at the world's most important job at a leisurely 9 am. Well, an old man does require a lot of sleep and at his age he likely sundowns. Claimed (again) that Trump did not condemn the Proud Boys (Trump did)I’ve said it many times, and let me be clear again, I condemn the KKK. I condemn all white supremacists. I condemn the...

MRI scan of damaged heart. Blue means reduced blood flow, orange is good blood flow. In this figure the inferior part of the heart shows dark blue, so the myocardial blood flow is very reduced and the black and white angiography, which looks directly at the blood vessels, shows that the vessel which supplies the blood to this part of the heart is occluded. The 3 colored images are 3 different slices of the heart: the basal the mid and the apical slice.
