During a Friday appearance on “CNN Newsroom,” Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) praised House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) announced an independent September 11-style commission to investigate the storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6.
Leahy, who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump for inciting the group of rioters, said the commission “is a superb one.” He added the commission should “have subpoena power.”

In Belarus, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya won the election, but longtime thug Alexander Lukashenko bent the vote counts (he usually wins with > 90% ) and made sure she lost.
She contested all that, but of course that made her a criminal to Lukashenko and his buddy Bad Vlad.
Something about “trying to overturn democracy” is how Lukashenko’s gangster state puts it - in other words, when anyone opposes him.

First one to subpoena is the person who is in charge of the Capital Police, Nancy and the DCMayor that refused The National Guard Trump said they should have had 2 weeks before the event. Then subpoena the cop that shot Ashli Babbit and subpoena the doctor that examined Ashli when they brought her in. Then jail Pelosi for creating a fake insurrection!
The 9-11 style commission that is really needed is one to investigate the election fraud that resulted in this clusterf***!

Yes, I recall the impeachment process. Only Dems were allowed to subpoena and question witnesses. And all the witnesses were hard core anti-Trump activists.
Who woke Leahy up from his post-impeachment slumber? I thought he’d be down for a Rip Van Winkle twenty years, or until he would be carried out of The Senate.
Don't sell the GOPe short. They will absolutely follow their tried and true method for collaboration on bipartisan commissions by appointing all get along-go along RINOs except for one lone conservative whom they'll undermine at every turn. As well, they'll laud the middle of the road RAT chairman as fair and respected while saying nary a peep about the hard leftists filling the remaining slots on the other side. They did it with Watergate, Iran-Contra, and 9/11, and there's no question they'll do it with this one,too.
