Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-Florida) suggested Thursday that Capitol Police and Democrats are hyping up the bizarre online theories of QAnon as justification for keeping Washington DC under ‘occupation’.
Following a story in Newsweek that highlighted how some QAnon followers believe President Trump is to be ‘reinstalled’ on March 4th, Capitol authorities and Democrats used it as a reason to keep troops and razor wire fences in place.
During a Wednesday hearing, House Armed Services Committee Chairman Adam Smith said “Some of these people have figured out that apparently 75 years ago, the president used to be inaugurated on March 4. OK, now why that’s relevant, God knows, at any rate, now they are thinking maybe we should gather again and storm the Capitol on March 4. … That is circulating online.”

A report by FOX 5 cited an internal email seen by reporters that reveals The National Security Council is asking the Department of Defense to engage Capitol Police on planning for post-March 12th support.
Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and Global Security Robert Salesses said Wednesday that the Capitol Police requested that 4,900 troops remain in DC through March 12.

Troops in the streets of DC is likely a permanent thing now. I wonder where they will extend it to first. New York? Philly? Atlanta?

Rep. Ted Lieu said a few weeks ago that unless and until Trump admits his role in the DC riots and apologizes for the insurrection, then the very real danger still exists that violent white right wing extremists will retry to retake the Capitol once again.
Until that happens - troops are necessary.
It might actually do some good in some of these places, so that won’t be happening. It will probably be something where they can claim it’s due to the threat of White Supreemist Terrorism. It won’t take much of a reason.

The Troops are there because the DemocRATs usurped the Presidency through fraud. They are guilty of treason and know it. Their personal guilt results in their expectation of being arrested or assaulted. They will “find” evidence of conspiracies against them whether the conspiracies exist or not. We are seeing deep paranoia here. Just like happens after any coup.

I did not know that
We had an election riddled with fraud and the “winners” of that election have put the capital under military occupation. By any reasonable, rational definition this was a coup.
