Liberals think they’re more intelligent than conservatives because they are. Liberalism can be defined as the willingness to contribute large amounts of private resources for the welfare of genetically unrelated others. Research shows that more intelligent children in the US and UK are more likely to grow up to be liberals than less intelligent children. Studies show the effect of childhood intelligence on adult political ideology is twice as large as the effect of either sex or race.

The Missouri man accused of ramming White House security barriers in an attempt to “kill the president” and “seize power” wrote a “coup” speech which ended with “Sieg hail”— a misspelled version of the Nazi term “sieg heil,” or “hail victory.” Sai Varshith Kandula, 19, was arrested after emerging from a rented U-Haul truck without a weapon, waving a Nazi flag following the crash last Monday. Inside the truck police recovered Kandula’s “green book” which included writings “about harming family members and other individuals” and his speech for when he had claimed power, which was released by the government Tuesday....

A 15-year-old boy killed his grandmother and stabbed his mother in their Long Island home after an argument erupted over content that was discovered on the teen’s computer, according to police. The boy’s mother, 36-year-old Vanessa Chendemi, fled the horror scene at the Selden residence after her son had repeatedly stabbed her with a knife around 9:45 p.m. following a confrontation about the teen’s computer, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. It is not clear what content led to the gruesome attack. The knifed mom flagged down a driver passing by and called 911 when the good Samaritan stopped...

SNIP Instead, they pushed forward, adding the COVID vaccine to the routine childhood schedule, with the expectation that babies receive three doses by just nine months of age.She added that the shots are still under Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for children under 12—not fully FDA approved—and yet they remain on the official vaccine schedule.Tucker was horrified when Dr. Bowden mentioned a disturbing fact: “According to the CDC, 9 million American children have gotten the latest version of these COVID shots,” she said.Clearly caught off guard, Carlson asked, “Actually?”“Yes,” Bowden confirmed.“Still?” he pressed.“Yes. Yes. 9 million [kids]—12% [of US children have...

White nationalist pundit Stew Peters is no stranger to offensive commentary, but on a recent episode of his eponymous podcast, he openly called for the deportation of all Jews from the United States — even going so far as to echo Nazi rhetoric by calling it a “final solution.” Peters’ notable controversies in recent years include getting kicked off Spotify and Apple Podcasts after he peddled Covid-19 conspiracy theories and participated in a white nationalist conference held by Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes. He’s embraced the “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory, claimed the Titan sub disaster was “actually a ploy” to hide...

Michael LaRosa, the former press secretary for First Lady Jill Biden, explained to The Young Turks’ Cenk Uygur how the Biden administration bullied “a lot of journalists” in a newly released interview.LaRosa made waves last month when he told an audience that the Biden campaign was guilty of “gaslighting” the public over then-President Joe Biden’s age and political standing last year. And he doubled down during his conversation with Uygur. The ex-staffer said that the Biden team acted like it was operating “out of a bunker” from the moment its principal took the oath of office in 2021, which he professed...

Things are not always as they seem, and I am convinced that the drama that we witnessed at the White House on Friday is a perfect example. Right now, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is being endlessly ridiculed by the conservative media in the United States. One of the words that is being used to describe Zelenskyy is “stupid”, but the truth is that Zelenskyy is not stupid at all. I strongly disagree with Zelenskyy on a lot of things, but I also recognize that he is an incredibly cunning individual. He has used the war with Russia to become one...

Star Trek, The Next Generation featured a recurring guest character, "Q", an incorporeal, vastly superior, malevolent intellect who harassed and dogged the "Enterprise" crew through various episodes of calculated perversity, limited only by the constraints of other, more emotionally mature members of his species. ("Q" seems to be a character extension of the original Star Trek character of "Trevelyan" in the episode "The Squire of Gothos", who is revealed at the end of his tyranical torments of the Enterprise crew to be a mere infant member of his vastly superior, incorporeal species.) I criticize the idea of the "mischievous sprite",...

Matthew Taylor Coleman, the California QAnon follower accused of killing his two small children with a speargun, is still incompetent to stand trial, his attorneys say — and they have only days to agree to a treatment plan for him. According to documents filed in federal court last month, attorneys on both sides have repeatedly asked the court to extend the deadlines for trial, because the 43-year-old is unable to help prepare his own defense. The next hearing is on Feb. 18, and the judge has said there will be no more extensions in the case. Feds are noting that...

Have you ever looked at a bath and thought “Nah, not today!”? Well, you are not alone, as bathing has been a very up-and-down trend across history and from culture to culture. Ancient Rome’s public baths could be a grand affair, with all classes of Roman society taking frequent hot soaks. This contrasts with people in early-modern Europe who avoided clean water altogether for fear that it caused illnesses. Then there are more recent times, when having baths and showers in the house is basically considered essential. These different trends raise the important question: what happens when humans decide not...

Can objects be possessed by demons? Can dreamcatchers carry demons? Is there biblical evidence for this? Only people can be demonically possessed. But inanimate objects can be negatively controlled through curses. As Adam Blai, a lay Catholic expert on religious demonology and exorcism, writes: A curse is simply a demon sent to do some harm. . . . Cursed objects are objects that have had the opposite of a blessing done to them. Instead of grace being attached to an object to make it holy, a demon has been attached to the object to make it associated with evil (Hauntings,...

Hardened soldiers, indeed. North Korean military men who joined the war front in Ukraine on behalf of Russia have unfettered internet access for the first time — and may be using it to watch tons of pornography ... Warriors from the hermit kingdom engaged in battle in Ukraine for the first time Monday — but they purportedly started fighting different demons before stepping foot onto any field ... Those soldiers have been engaged in a battle of the bulge since gaining free use of the internet, ... North Korean soldiers who have deployed to Russia have never had unfettered access...

So I get a call from my son at about 7:30 am. He’s freaking out wondering of something happened here since (according to him) I made 2 calls at approximately 1:28 am. He assumed something must have been wrong for me to be calling so late, but we chalked it up to an infamous ‘butt dial’. But wait: I was pretty sure I was in bed before then, and made that pretty clear. I then after checking my phone history I said, “can you check the number that actually called you, since I have no record of it on my...

The woman shot and killed at a house south of The Junction on Tuesday was identified this afternoon, and police have released more information on what they believe happened. We’ve already added the new details to our original Tuesday report, but are also publishing this separate update. Police said in the hours after her...

OK, so I may have used Twitter some 5 times in the last 10 years or so since I first joined. If anything is worth reading or posting - this is what Free Republic is for. So anyway I go to X.com to see for reference a tweet I posted in 2020. X says I have no posts. AND it says I joined in July 2023. Google tells me that is when Twitter became X. So did X wipe out all my previous Twitter posts? Has this happened to anyone else? Not gonna lose any sleep over this, but just...

FReeper RedRyder_90 had an idea for a book club style thread on FR after we listened to several of the David Suchet Bible readings. I think it's a great idea. If no one else is interested, she and I will share our comments.I understand that threads discussion religion, or in this case, the version of the Bible read (NIV), can become wild west style bar brawls. So I would preface my comments by suggesting that the thread be a religion thread in which brawls have to be taken outside it.I see James Earl Jones reads the KJV - perhaps that could...
