Just wondering if any of my fellow Freepers are, like me, spending Christmas Eve solo. Unlike previous years, however, I'm not quite alone, as I am now sharing my home with a two year old Greyhound I adopted last Spring. Other than he and I, it's a cozy, quiet, peaceful and solo Christmas Eve. How about everyone else?

The coronavirus/omnibus spending bill was dead to begin with. There is no doubt whatever about that. The register of its burial wasn’t signed by the president…old coronavirus/omnibus spending bill was as dead as a doornail. No. These aren’t the opening lines of “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens, writing about the death of Ebenezer Scrooge’s late business partner, Jacob Marley. But it’s pretty close. And certainly, what unfolded this Christmas on Capitol Hill surrounding a COVID aid package was just as Dickensian... It’s unclear if the president’s proposed changes to the bill could pass. And don’t forget that Congress has...

Over the past weekend the President filed a case with the Supreme Court and asked for it to be expedited due to the fact that it involves the 2020 election and the future of this country. If Joe Biden, who stole the election from record-setter President Trump is allowed to win the election, the country will never recover. How can President Trump’s record setting election that destroyed the previous all time high by nearly 10% be stolen? The Supreme Court yesterday acknowledged the filings were received. The court did not rule on the case. The court did not acknowledge the...

CNN claims a relatively mundane Christmas card sent out by former President George W. Bush is a shot at President Trump for having not been accepting of the 2020 election results. “George W. Bush sends holiday card with pointed message as Trump denies election loss,” reads the headline. The ‘pointed message’ appears to be an image of the Statue of Liberty titled, “Beacon of Hope, 2020.” The artwork is from a collection that celebrates immigrants. Here is CNN’s explanation for why this is a shot at President Trump: “The painting and its title come from a former President who has...

Proponents have called the state’s massive new toll road project a monumental opportunity and a thoughtful plan for smart growth. The 330 miles of new highways will curb interstate congestion, bolster the economy and facilitate hurricane evacuations, they say. In short, the argument goes, the roads would be a good investment. So why is it that so many of the preliminary studies are at best lukewarm on the idea? And the latest reports only add to the list of reasons to reconsider the controversial project. The tolls roads, dubbed the Multi-use Corridors of Regional Economic Significance, were largely pushed by...

True Who aficionados, though, know the rest of the story where this song is concerned, and are often just as fond of the original version of the song, which the Who’s Next version wasn’t. The song was originally recorded several months prior to Who’s Next, as a four-minute electric version with Townshend singing lead and playing rhythm guitar, and the lead solos performed by Leslie West, the guitarist for New York power trio Mountain (“Mississippi Queen”). The Who (apparently without Roger Daltrey) was recording at the Record Plant in New York, and Townshend reportedly didn’t want to spend time on...

Dominion Voting Systems CEO John Poulos on Thursday discussed his threat of “imminent” legal action against the Donald Trump campaign for statements made about their company following the 2020 elections. Poulos said the lawsuit against “several different people that have been spreading lies and defamatory remarks” about his company since Election Day is in his legal team’s hands now. He said that entails Trump campaign lawyer Sidney Powell and possibly even the president himself. “[S]everal different actors have been promoting lies and amplifying those lies, as I said, on various media platforms, since Election Day. And many Americans across the...

In doing so, the court rejected a rare challenge by the state’s attorney general, Xavier Becerra, whose office normally represents county prosecutors when their cases are appealed... Becerra, tapped by President-elect Joe Biden to head the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services...said that fear of prosecution may prevent pregnant women from seeking addiction services. The case could also prompt extra scrutiny by law enforcement on miscarriages and stillbirths, he said. Chelsea Becker of Hanford has been in jail on $2 million bail since the September 2019 stillbirth. Police say methamphetamine was found in the fetus and that Becker, who...

In the coming weeks, the Congress will meet to ratify the Electoral College results, and courts will hear whatever may be left of the legal challenges. Let's assume a worst case scenario, no miraculous reversal occurs, the Biden-Harris administration arrive in DC to be sworn in on January 20th. My belief is that they cannot in good conscience take the oath of office (to preserve and defend the constitution) because their actual mission is to weaken the country fatally in advance of some sort of globalist revolutionary government being installed (they are in fact it, for all intents and purposes)....

As we age, our skin is one of the first places it shows. But skin aging is caused by a number of things beyond just the years we're alive for. "Skin aging is the result of both intrinsic biologic processes that contribute to chronologic aging, as well as extrinsic factors such as ultraviolet (UV) radiation, smoking, pollution, and poor nutrition," says Jacquelyn Sink, MD, a dermatologist at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital. While it's important to wear a hat outside and avoid smoking, another preventative anti-aging skincare measure is to eat a healthy diet. "As with all aspects of our...

"Once in Royal David's city..." As the pure, crystalline voice of one boy soprano rings out from King's College in Cambridge, England singing the traditional opening carol of The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, for millions listening live on the radio worldwide, Christmas has truly begun. The Festival grew out of a need to bind up the wounds of World War I and has continued every year from 1918 unstopped by war, unrest or even a plandemic. They say that during World War II, listeners to the Festival could hear the tar paper flapping in the wind as the...

It goes without saying that 2020 hasn't been the most huat year. For one woman, things just got a little worse thanks to a hapless Ninja Van delivery man who broke her prized possession — a "lucky" flower pot. He had broken the pot while he was delivering a parcel to her home at 180C Marsiling Road on Dec 16, the aggrieved woman told Lianhe Wanbao, adding that she called the police after he refused to apologise and fled the scene. That morning, she was in her kitchen when she heard a sudden loud noise. When she reached her front...
