Three men who were kicked out of a packed California strip club for refusing to wear face coverings returned with an AK-47 and wounded three people in a drive-by shooting, authorities said. Edgar Nava-Ayala, 34, Daniel Juvenal Ocampo, 22, and Juan Jose Acosta-Soto, 20, were tossed out of the Sahara Theater in Anaheim on Halloween after breaking the jiggle joint’s mask mandate, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office said Monday.

Congress swiftly passed a $2.3 trillion COVID-19 relief and government funding bill on Monday that was stuffed with cash for foreign countries and policy pet projects for powerful legislators. Although the bill authorizes $600 stimulus checks for most Americans, a $300 weekly unemployment supplement and $284 billion in small business loans, it also contains other, more obscure provisions. The bill adds two National Mall museums, bans the US Postal Service from delivering e-cigarettes and makes online streaming of copyrighted material punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

  • Do we have enough Senators and House members to get this done?

    12/22/2020 3:45:48 PM PST · by djf · 66 replies
Ok. Newsmax today says that if, at the reading of the Electors, for each one, a Senator AND a House Member objects, then, AT THAT TIME the houses are divided and each one conducts debate amongst themselves for two hours. If, and only if, this debate goes on until Jan 18th, then the election GOES TO THE HOUSE where each State GETS ONE VOTE. So my question is do we have enough support to sustain this effort? Are there enough senators and house members to carry on a 12 day debate? Does anyone think this can be done?

Nineteen counties in Ohio have exceeded or equaled records for the most overdoses in a year as the nation continues to see a spike in drug overdoses during the coronavirus pandemic. Harm Reduction Ohio, a drug policy advocacy group which says it is the largest distributor of naloxone in the state, says the biggest increases in death caused by overdoses have occurred in central and east Ohio. There have been more than 3,700 overdose deaths in the state, a number likely to rise by the end of the year, Harm Reduction Ohio said. May saw a record-breaking 557 deaths. The...

“This was not a politically motivated investigation. There is no deep state,” said Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) last December, as she accused Attorney General William Barr of “unsupported attacks” on the FBI. Contrary to the California Democrat, there is a deep state and it does more than conduct covert operations like the Midyear Exam and Crossfire Hurricane. The central agency of the deep state is not the FBI but the SES, the Senior Executive Service, hiding in plain sight. “The SES insignia or emblem represents a keystone—the center stone that holds all the stones of an arch in place,” the...

The owners of over a dozen New York-area pharmacies were charged in an indictment unsealed today for their roles in a $30 million health care fraud and money laundering scheme, in which they exploited emergency codes and edits in the Medicare system that went into effect due to the COVID-19 pandemic in order to submit fraudulent claims for expensive cancer drugs that were never provided, ordered, or authorized by medical professionals. Peter Khaim, 40, and Arkadiy Khaimov, 37, both of Forest Hills, New York, each were charged with one count of conspiracy to commit health care fraud and wire fraud,...

A Black defendant’s right to a fair trial would be harmed if the jury heard the case in a courtroom lined with portraits of white jurists, a northern Virginia judge has ruled. The upcoming trial of Terrance Shipp on charges of eluding police will be held in a courtroom that has no portraits on the wall, said Fairfax County Circuit Court Judge David Bernhard. Bernhard noted that his usual courtroom has no portraits. But jury trials that were postponed during the coronavirus pandemics are now being held in larger courtrooms. The walls of those rooms are lined with portraits of...

Many Democrats in Congress acknowledge that National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden exposed vast government surveillance overreach. They demonstrated their concern with their actions: When key provisions of the Patriot Act were up for reauthorization earlier this year, progressive Democrats led the charge to strip the law of language used to justify mass surveillance programs uncovered by Snowden. But now, as President Donald Trump considers whether to pardon Snowden for his alleged crimes, only one Democratic member of Congress has pushed the lame-duck president to do it. The federal government has charged Snowden with three felonies: one count of theft...

PORTLAND, Ore —Wilson High School in Southwest Portland will be renamed after a Black woman who made a historical impact on society. The board of Portland Public Schools decided to change the school's name in July in response to the racial justice movement that followed the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Built in 1954, the high school was named for former Pres. Woodrow Wilson, whose administration segregated federal offices. Wilson also wrote a book considered sympathetic to the Ku Klux Klan. A committee tasked with renaming Wilson High has come up with five candidates after whom the school could...

Pence May Reject Biden’s Fraudulent ElectorsFirebrand and freedom fighter Boris Epshteyn, a Trump 2020 adviser, is working overtime through the holidays to legally prove election fraud and rightfully overturn the results, namely, in Arizona. Epshteyn, a regular guest on Steve Bannon’s “War Room,” said during his latest appearance on the number one political podcast in the country, that Vice President Mike Pence may reject the slate of electors he finds fraudulent during a joint session of Congress on January 6. President-elect Joe Biden on Tuesday said he would slowly reform US immigration policies to avoid triggering a rush of “2 million people on our border.” Biden confirmed reports that his team is nervous amid an already increasing number of immigrants, including children and families, being detained at the border since his election victory last month. “I’ve already started discussing these issues with the president of Mexico and our friends in Latin America and the timeline is to do it so that we in fact make it better, not worse,” Biden said at a press conference in Wilmington, Del, when asked...

Explanation: Dust pillars are like interstellar mountains. They survive because they are more dense than their surroundings, but they are being slowly eroded away by a hostile environment. Visible in the featured picture is the end of a huge gas and dust pillar in the Trifid Nebula (M20), punctuated by a smaller pillar pointing up and an unusual jet pointing to the left. Many of the dots are newly formed low-mass stars. A star near the small pillar's end is slowly being stripped of its accreting gas by radiation from a tremendously brighter star situated off the top of the...

The Allegheny County Health Department cited Al’s Cafe in Bethel Park and David’s Diner in Harmar late last week for serving meals indoors in defiance of the governor’s shut down order. The statewide restrictions, which expire Jan. 4, are aimed at stemming the current surge in COVID-19 cases. Inspectors visited both restaurants Thursday in response to complaints, according to the inspection reports. Both were ordered closed that day. Inspectors followed up Friday, when both restaurants were found operating and ordered closed again. Both also were cited for removing the county’s “closed” signs, inspection reports show. In addition, Al’s Cafe, on...
