Built in 1954, the high school was named for former Pres. Woodrow Wilson, whose administration segregated federal offices. Wilson also wrote a book considered sympathetic to the Ku Klux Klan. A committee tasked with renaming Wilson High has come up with five candidates after whom the school could...

President-elect Joe Biden on Tuesday said he would slowly reform US immigration policies to avoid triggering a rush of “2 million people on our border.” Biden confirmed reports that his team is nervous amid an already increasing number of immigrants, including children and families, being detained at the border since his election victory last month. “I’ve already started discussing these issues with the president of Mexico and our friends in Latin America and the timeline is to do it so that we in fact make it better, not worse,” Biden said at a press conference in Wilmington, Del, when asked...

Explanation: Dust pillars are like interstellar mountains. They survive because they are more dense than their surroundings, but they are being slowly eroded away by a hostile environment. Visible in the featured picture is the end of a huge gas and dust pillar in the Trifid Nebula (M20), punctuated by a smaller pillar pointing up and an unusual jet pointing to the left. Many of the dots are newly formed low-mass stars. A star near the small pillar's end is slowly being stripped of its accreting gas by radiation from a tremendously brighter star situated off the top of the...

The Allegheny County Health Department cited Al’s Cafe in Bethel Park and David’s Diner in Harmar late last week for serving meals indoors in defiance of the governor’s shut down order. The statewide restrictions, which expire Jan. 4, are aimed at stemming the current surge in COVID-19 cases. Inspectors visited both restaurants Thursday in response to complaints, according to the inspection reports. Both were ordered closed that day. Inspectors followed up Friday, when both restaurants were found operating and ordered closed again. Both also were cited for removing the county’s “closed” signs, inspection reports show. In addition, Al’s Cafe, on...

For the duration of the pandemic, while hundreds of thousands died and the world economy was decimated by lockdowns, Moderna's highly effective vaccine was available. Few people realize that the Moderna vaccine against COVID-19—which the FDA has finally declared "highly effective," and which is now being distributed to Americans—has actually been available for nearly a year. But the government wouldn't let you take it. The vaccine, a triumph of medical science known as mRNA-1273, was designed in a single weekend, just two days after Chinese researchers published the virus's genetic code on January 11, 2020. For the entire duration of...

KFC have unveiled the KFConsole, its own take on the gaming industry, combining chicken and video games. After an initial reveal back in June which many dismissed as a prank, the console has been officially brought to fruition in collaboration with PC specialist Cooler Master. Not only is it being dubbed as the end of “console wars”, but the system also incorporates a chicken chamber to keep the console cool, whilst simultaneously keeping meals warm. Mariangela Zaffino’s body was found by her daughter in the northern Italy apartment where the pair lived with their handful of canines, according to the Telegraph. The victim’s daughter and local authorities said the five wolfdogs — named Ares, Aylen, Artù, Aragorn and Apache — had not showed signs of aggression prior to Zaffino’s death. What prompted the attack is unclear, though the animals have been removed from the home by law...

RUSH: Let me ask you a quick question. What do you think Donald Trump’s greatest legacy will be? (interruption) What’s that? (interruption) Supreme Court? Well, here’s my list, and I think I’m gonna have to add that to it, ’cause that’s not on my list. Supreme Court, three conservative justices, right? Giving us a supposed 6-3 majority. Okay. Operation Warp Speed, i.e., the vaccine. Oh, by the way, Pelosi back in 2018 referred to a $1,000 tax cut as “crumbs.” Remember that? She’s out there calling $600 per citizen for COVID relief significant. Significant? Six hundred bucks today is significant....

@BillKristol1. This thread is based on recent conversations with people whose information and judgment I trust, who in turn have spoken candidly with Trump appointees still on the inside. Here's a question: Why did Trump and Barr, when they negotiated Barr's departure, settle on Dec. 23? 2. It could, obviously, be kind of random--a date picked last week to allow Barr to get things in order, an accommodation of Barr's family schedule, etc. But it could also be that Barr very much wanted to get out before Dec. 24, and/or that Trump wanted him out by then. 3. One obvious...

She should be flying private.' Ivanka paid as little attention as possible and tried to preoccupy her children with some crayons to diffuse the situation...

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has serious psychological issues with President Trump. She loses her cool and childishly acts out in settings like the State of the Union address and White House meetings where decorum dictates responsible behavior from the person second in line to the presidency. Pelosi’s latest example of her pathological hatred of Trump is reported by Politico in an article on how the COVID stimulus deal finally came together this past weekend. Trump has refrained from directly negotiating with Pelosi, instead having Treasury Secretary Mnuchin deal with the Speaker. That has not softened Pelosi’s psycho-hatred...
