Voting System ProposalThe recent Presidential election has brought up a lot of issues surrounding voting and the tallying of these votes. After thinking about it a bit, I figured I'd write up what I think would be a proposal for a way to have voting and vote tabulating systems that would be verifiable, open, and transparent. All voters shall be positively identified via standard state or national ID, i.e., drivers licenses, state ID cards, military ID, or passport). Each positively identified individual shall be logged both locally and reported immediately to a centralized location to combat fraud. This list of...

In a web-based article authored by Stephen Surgener back in 2007, I ran across some words that I found compelling: “There is a fear of chaotic Biblical rhetoric not founded in sound theology, somehow contaminating the doctrinal foundations of the body. But what I find most, is the fear of conviction. And that is a fear which poses the biggest challenges.” I do believe that “chaotic biblical rhetoric not founded in sound theology” is a serious and growing problem in modern Christianity. But like Surgener, I think the root cause of most of our problems today is a sheer fear...

AbstractIntroduction: Ivermectin is a commonly used antihelminthic agent with over 35 years of established safety data in humans. Recent data demonstrates antiviral activity in vitro against SARS-CoV-2, in addition to a range of viruses. In vitro and animal models also provide evidence of immunomodulatory action. These additional modes of action are supported by in silico modelling, which propose a number of viral and host targets that would mediate these effects. Objectives: The aim of this study is to systematically review the published and preprint clinical literature and study results that assessed the potential role of ivermectin as a COVID-19 therapeutic...

For at least 40 years, MoCo politicians and school officials have invoked “closing the achievement gap” as a sacred goal which justifies the sacrifice of as many taxpayers as necessary. But that goal is not as sacrosanct as assuring that teachers continue to collect full pay while taking zero risks and leaving the most vulnerable students far behind. Since the county padlocked public schools earlier this year and shifted to unreliable “distance learning,” there has been a 500%+ increase in the number of black junior high students failing mathematics and a 600%+ increase in Hispanic students failing. The percentage of...

There’s another global disaster we also need to try to prevent: climate change. We have only some of the tools we need to eliminate the world’s greenhouse gases. We need breakthroughs in the way we generate and store clean electricity, grow food, make things, move around, and heat and cool our buildings, so we can do all these things without adding more greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. We need to revolutionize the world’s physical economy—and that will take, among other things, a dramatic infusion of ingenuity, funding, and focus from the federal government. No one else has the resources to...

Francis’ New Book: Praises George Floyd Riots, Condemns COVID ProtestsIs there a single issue on which Francis comes down on the Catholic side anymore? If you want to be a conservative, a patriot, a traditionalist, a regular guy—just do the exact opposite of what this little, diminutive man does. (Yes, despite what you may have seen from the Vatican glamor shot photographer, Francis is actually just over 5’7”, which explains a lot.)So, when it came to handling COVID, what did the great big man do? Closed down the churches and immediately started talking about the desperate need for a new...

Day 265 Of The Dictatorship Of COVID-19: Tyranny Came Before The Election Welcome to the weekend. This post title about "Game Over" in Venezuela once the late Hugo Chavez was elected President in 1998 the freedom of the country and its economy doomed to their eventual fate. We've experienced this tyranny before our 2020 election that is said to have elected Joe Biden as our President here in the USA. The COVID-19 tyranny first unleashed in March and then lessened for a bit back again. Big Government like colleges, universities, public schools being kept open and Big Business like chain...

So I've been checking up time to time on the progress on the construction of the borderwall https://www.cbp.gov/border-security/along-us-borders/border-wall-system Overall despite the Set backs and hurdles it looks like Trump has kept his promise for the most part on getting the wall built, a good bulk of it is now up(415 miles at this time of writing) although it looks like it isn't all going to be finished by the time he leaves office. So I'm just curious how much of the wall actually need to be put up? As I understand not all the US-Mexico border is porous, a good...
