I went to the store today. It was crowded and people were "panic buying" ,the store clerks words. I see an elderly couple (anybody older than me) with a cart loaded to the brim - cases of canned goods. The old dude couldn't push it so his wife was also pulling it. The place was packed. So what's up? We hear the rumor (while in line) that there is going to be a truckers strike after Thanksgiving. Is this true? First I heard of it. Is it on the news (which I don't watch much of) or is it just...

Michelle Lujan Grisham and state health officials on Wednesday announced several tightenings intended to clarify the intent of the emergency public health order effective through Monday, Nov. 30, and to further underscore the imperative that New Mexicans must absolutely remain at home except for only those trips that are most essential for health, safety and welfare. Her LinkedIn profile fairly bulges with glowing recommendations. She is, to all appearances, the most dedicated and professional of Human Resource experts. So why did Kelly Dixon (@kellycanhire), the Maricopa County Elections Recruitment and Training Assistant Director, order election workers to hand out ballpoint pens from 10/23 through 11/2 and then suddenly switch to MARKERS on Election Day? Why, oh why!?! And why did she delete her Twitter account around 10:50 a.m. CST today when it all came to light!? (Don't worry. I've got the screenshots!) This morning, Ron Watkins (@codemonkeyz) retweeted a photograph of Kelly Dixon's 10/22/2020 email shown...

U.S. Attorney John Durham’s probe into how the FBI’S Russia probe got started is moving “full steam ahead.” Fox News attributed the information to a source familiar with the investigation. And another source confirmed the investigation “is definitely still happening,” according to the news network. Word of the probe’s status came despite concerns from Republicans that the investigation had become dormant following the election. Kevin Clinesmith, a former FBI lawyer was charged in August with making a false statement in the first criminal case arising from Durham's investigation into the probe of ties between Russia and the 2016 Donald Trump...

An Allegheny County judge ruled on Wednesday that 2,349 mail-in ballots can be counted because they were received by Election Day even though the voters failed to date the outside envelope of their ballot. It’s one of several technicalities that election officials and the courts are sorting through in this election. “We think, the General Assembly thinks, that those requirements are not negotiable, are not waivable,” attorney Matt Haverstick told KDKA political editor Jon Delano on Wednesday.Haverstick represents Republican state Senate candidate Nicole Ziccarelli who is 28 votes behind Pennsylvania Sen. Jim Brewster, a Democrat, with some mail-in and provisional...

It is with deep sadness that I report that our friend Bender2, Danny Clay Lee, has passed through the vale to the other side. “Danny Lee peacefully passed away early this morning. I’ve read him many of your Facebook messages the last couple months. They brought him a little smile. - from Carey Canada” As many of you know, for me this is a real gut punch as Danny was a great friend who made us all laugh often. I met Danny once for lunch when I was on travel to Ft. Hood, TX. RIP Danny. You will be missed.

Kyle Rittenhouse’s outspoken attorney John Pierce has not yet applied for permission to represent the teen in Wisconsin. Pierce, a California-based attorney active on conservative issues, has been acting as the lead defense attorney for Rittenhouse in public statements and in an online campaign to raise money and public support. He also represented Rittenhouse in court in an ultimately unsuccessful fight to block his extradition from Illinois to Kenosha County, where he is facing homicide charges.

Hillary Clinton is predicting Donald Trump's reelection effort will be a messy affair, and the former Democratic candidate has some advice for Joe Biden: If the race is close, don't concede.Speaking with Jennifer Palmieri for Showtime's "The Circus," Clinton said Trump would likely try to take the election by going after absentee voting. She emphasized that even a small margin of votes can have major consequences, harking back to her experience winning the popular vote by nearly 3 million votes and still losing in the Electoral College.Democrats, she said, should be ready to fight if the results come back too...

If you were lucky enough to attend America’s premier academic institution, Harvard University, you would receive most days, as I do, the Harvard Gazette. The Gazette generally cloaks its pieces in the mantle of “news”; but really its principal function is to find ways for us Harvard people to congratulate ourselves on how brilliant we are, while at the same time heaping scorn and derision on the the ignorant deplorables who are always getting in the way of our plans to perfect the world. You only need to read a few of these things before you start to realize that...
