The Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has apparently been overruled and the No-Sail order extended through October 2020. This was apparently confirmed from two sources with direct knowledge of the conversation between the two parties. There are of course to sides to the story as the CDC is purely focused on keeping people safe and healthy from viruses and not so much on the economic impact. Politics does come into play here even though that has been denied by officials. Florida is a huge importance for votes for the upcoming Presidential Election. Right now, Florida...

The Trump administration is preparing a series of immigration enforcement actions targeting sanctuary cities leading up to the November general election, sources told the Washington Post on Tuesday. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation is known informally as the “sanctuary op” and could reportedly begin as soon as this week in California and eventually move to cities including Denver and Philadelphia. A federal appeals court on Tuesday upheld a lower court ruling that extended the deadline for counting mail-in ballots in Wisconsin until Nov. 9 as long as they are postmarked by the Nov. 3 election, AP reports. Why it matters: It's a big win for Democrats that also means that the winner of Wisconsin, a key presidential swing state, may not be known for six days after the election. Republicans are likely to appeal the ruling to the Supreme Court, as the Pennsylvania GOP did after a similar ruling on Monday.

Since we reviewed the key knowables and predictables about Covid-19 in April, new points have emerged. Sewage studies and patient samples seem to show the virus was circulating in Europe and South America before an outbreak was officially recognized in Wuhan. These episodes are not well understood. The hospitals themselves may have been a progenitor of local spikes. The mandatory closing of local businesses is hard to disentangle from the steps people were already taking...
