Federal health officials met with state and city public health labs on Wednesday to fix a crippling lack of options to diagnose the novel coronavirus, a shortfall driven by botched CDC testing kits. As a result, New York state and New York City are moving forward with developing their own test to detect the virus. The lack of adequate testing capabilities was spotlighted on Wednesday evening, when the CDC announced delayed results of the first potential case of a person contracting COVID-19 from “community spread,” meaning they got sick without traveling to China or being exposed to anyone known to...

Democratic Party leaders are sweating over the prospect of Democratic nominee Bernie Sanders - and also a fractured party. The New York Times reported Thursday that former President Bill Clinton has been calling old friends and venting about Sanders, fearing his nomination could wipe out the party in the general election. Sanders was Hillary Clinton's primary opponent in 2016. Former President Barack Obama, on the other hand, signed on to a party fundraising email Thursday afternoon that's central theme was all about unity.

When climate alarmists first presented their poster-child advocate, then-15-year-old Greta Thunberg, she was taken by realists with the appropriate grain of salt.  While the MSM rushed to gush all over this "brave" little girl who had somehow mustered the temerity and selflessness to skip school in the service of humanity, many dismissed her "how dare you?" message as yet another banal alarmist slogan. So when news hit of 19-year-old Naomi Seibt, the so-called "anti-Greta," I must admit to being more than a bit skeptical.  After all, is the proper response to an opponent's deployment of a preposterous puppet (she really is...

We can all agree that the recent trend of teen vaping is cause for concern. As a trained Pediatric nurse practitioner, I understand the harm nicotine can have on a developing adolescent brain, but attempts to ban vaping products runs an even greater risk of exposing individuals to higher risk alternatives in an unregulated black market. The recent congressional vaping hearing appears to be a part of a larger campaign to chip away at the rights of legal adult citizens to use nicotine products. Even if those nicotine vaping products are a critical part of harm reduction by transitioning traditional...

For people who are neither leftists nor caught in the grip of Trump Derangement Syndrome, Vice President Mike Pence is an intelligent, principled, competent man. When President Trump announced on Wednesday that he was putting Pence in charge of coordinating the federal government’s response to the coronavirus, it seemed like an eminently sensible decision. For Democrats, though, Pence is the man who caused an HIV outbreak in Indiana. This, of course, is a lie. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a woman so desperate to drive Trump from the White House that she seemed unconcerned that Mike Pence would become president, summed up...

U.S. stock futures pointed to more losses early Friday after the major indexes suffered a tumble that sent them more than 10% below their record highs. As of 9 a.m. ET, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were down about 600 points and indicated an opening loss of 800 points. S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures also pointed to a lower open on Friday. Futures were under pressure in part because investors kept adding to their bond-market exposure. The benchmark U.S. 10-year Treasury yield touched a fresh record low. It was last at 1.18%. Yields move inversely to prices.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem (Music in The Bible) Psalm 119 Psalm 119[a] מ Mem 97 Oh, how I love your law!     I meditate on it all day long. 98 Your commands are always with me     and make me wiser than my enemies. 99 I have more insight than all my teachers,     for I meditate on your statutes. 100 I have more understanding than the elders,     for I obey your precepts. 101 I have kept my feet from every evil path     so that I might obey your word. 102 I have not departed from your laws,     for you yourself have taught me. 103 How sweet...

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were facing an angry backlash today as their £20million security bill looks set to fall squarely on British taxpayers after Canada refused to keep paying. Canadian police confirmed last night it would stop assisting with security for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex when they step down as working royals and become private citizens after Megxit on March 31. This means the cost of round-the-clock protection for the couple and baby Archie will fall solely to the taxpayer-funded Metropolitan Police, despite the couple leaving the UK for North America.

Thursday in an interview with Fox News, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) predicted his former U.S. Senate colleague, former Vice President Joe Biden would win this weekend’s South Carolina Democratic presidential primary. However, he said he still thought that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) would capture the nomination.

US President Donald Trump addressed the media at a conference on the outbreak of coronavirus at the White House, Washington DC on February 26. A video of a New York Post journalist surfaced online which showed her “mocking” an Indian reporter during the conference, and it has left netizens angry. In the viral clip, an Indian journalist can be seen raising a question about India-US relationships post Trump’s two-day visit to the country. While the Indian reporter was questioning Trump, the New York Post reporter, who was sitting behind him, was seen making faces at him. A Twitter user with...

One of the most depressing aspects of Attorney General William Barr’s ongoing conduct of his job is his current campaign to have the FISA law renewed without a single modification. Coming as it does directly in the wake of the report by DOJ IG Michael Horowitz identifying no fewer than 17 instances in which highi-ranking DOJ/FBI officials lied to the FISA court in order to obtain warrants to spy on the Trump Campaign/Transition Team/Administration during 2016 and 2017, this insistence on a “clean” renewal of this dangerous law is simply inexcusable. Barr is assuring Senators that they don’t need to...

Pundits have recently argued that younger voters, especially those under 30, are less inclined to be bothered when they hear the word "socialism," since they have no firsthand memory of the Cold War. To some extent, this must be true. Those who weren't alive during socialism's cruelest catastrophes -- or even its many banal failures -- will be less put off by the idea. Then again, if a presidential candidate were praising the excellent public transportation system of the Third Reich or going on about some alleged benefit to American slavery, they would rightly be chased from the public square...

Note: This post addresses intermittent fasting as a diet, not fasting done for religious or cultural purposes. You should consult with a doctor, nutritionist, or dietician before trying intermittent fasting, or any diet. A few weeks ago, a group of friends and I were trying to plan a fairly low-key wine and cheese night. As if trying to work around everyone’s schedules isn’t already difficult enough, we found ourselves faced with a new challenge: one of our pals was intermittent fasting and their “eating window” closed right when the rest of us could get together. Sigh.

Adam Schiff is the congressman of Hollywood, and in Hollywood, he can do no wrong as he wages war on President Donald Trump. For proof, look no further than the slobbery interview granted by ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel on Feb. 24. Several times, Kimmel made the point that Schiff is "our local congressman" and has an office "right down the block" on Hollywood Boulevard. After some pleasantries about how Schiff gets stopped on the streets by (mostly) admiring citizens, the talk turned to President Trump. Kimmel ran a clip in which Trump insisted Schiff be investigated for having leaked...

“He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue. Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer. He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat. He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse. When...
