More than a dozen Saudi servicemen training at US military installations will be expelled from the United States after a review that followed the deadly shooting last month at a Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida, multiple sources told CNN. The Saudis are not accused of aiding the 21-year-old Saudi Air Force second lieutenant who killed three American sailors in the December shooting, two sources said, but some are said to have connections to extremist movements, according to a person familiar with the situation. A number are also accused of possessing child pornography, according to a defense official and the...

A 21-year-old Aurora man has been identified as one of the U.S. soldiers killed Saturday by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. Miguel Villalon was in a vehicle that was struck by an IED in the Kandahar providence. The City of Aurora said Villalon was an East Aurora High School graduate and proudly served in the U.S. Army. Villalon is the second Chicago area service member to die overseas in the last week. On Sunday, 23-year-old Army Specialist Henry Mayfield Jr. of Hazel Crest was killed during an attack in Kenya. Aurora released the following statement as they mourn the loss...
  • My Beloved Planted a Vineyard...Vineyard Parables pt 1

Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill: And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes. And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard. What could have been done more to my vineyard,...

CNN will pay $76 million in back pay to a group of former video contractors whose contract was terminated in 2003, according to a settlement signed Friday. The money, which will go to more than 300 former contractors, is the largest monetary remedy in the history of the NLRB and is more money than the board typically collects in an entire year, according to its news release. The workers were represented by two union locals of the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians-Communications Workers of America when CNN terminated the contract. The news channel then hired nonunion employees to...
  • Family Finds Owl in Christmas Tree, Updates Followers on Ensuing 'OwlGate'

One Georgia family got more than they bargained for when they took home a Christmas tree and found a real-life owl hiding in its branches. Last week, Billy and Katie McBride Newman’s young daughter India started crying when one of their holiday trees ornaments “scared” her, Fox 4 reports. Coincidentally, the Newnan family’s fir was filled with about a dozen owl ornaments, as Katie is a fan of the bird. Shockingly, however, the woman’s 10-year-old was not spooked by one of the decorations, but instead a real-life owl.
  • Outlaw Universities: Discrimination in Academia

Probably everyone in the academy knows that affirmative action is widely practiced: racial minorities (except Asians) and women are commonly given preference in hiring and admission decisions at American universities. I would guess, however, that some academics — and many more non-academics — are unaware that typical university hiring practices are blatantly illegal. So I’m going to talk about that for a while, in case you find that interesting. Job advertisements commonly say things like that the university rejects discrimination, supports equal employment opportunity, and considers all applicants “without regard to” race, sex, religion, etc. What they actually mean by...

I wonder if the country wouldn’t be better served by Trump having daily briefings by Judicial Watch and “energizing” a privately funded effort for Judicial watch and O’keefe to focus on a state by a state investigation into the election rules. It seems that they are doing a better job than all the Republicans together. Judicial Watch announced it today filed a lawsuit against Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and the House Intelligence Committee for the controversial subpoenas issued for phone records, including those of Rudy Giuliani, President Trump’s lawyer.

To become a pinup poster for the Left you need 3 things: 1) Be a good-looking male, 2) Hate America passionately, 3) Be an accomplished cold-blooded terrorist with multiple killings under your belt. Witness what happened to Che Guevara and the younger of the Boston Bombers. My prediction is Soleimani has "The Left Stuff" for the role. He will soon appear on posters and tshirts at every American institute of "Higher Learning". Here's Che in all his glory --- And here's the air-brushed vision of American-hating manliness created by the photo manipulators at Rolling Stone: This guy will now join...

The latest poor saps to join the oops club are the authorities in charge of Montana’s Glacier National Park. For years they’ve been warning on their visitor signs that their main attraction, the glaciers, would be “gone by 2020.” Instead, it’s those misleading signs that have had to go, because 2020 has now arrived and those pesky glaciers, all 29 of them, remain stubbornly unmelted by climate change.

SANTA CLARA The 49ers handled business in their first playoff game Saturday at Levi’s Stadium, thumping the No. 6 seed Minnesota Vikings 27-10 in their NFC playoff game. Here are our grades. Passing offense: D Jimmy Garoppolo got going early, completing 5 of 6 passes on his first series that ended in a 3-yard Kendrick Bourne touchdown in the back of the end zone. Garoppolo made a bad decision near the end of the first half when he threw an interception to linebacker Eric Kendricks while looking for Deebo Samuel on a post route. Garoppolo was asked to throw just...

The Retail Council of Canada wants things to remain as they are, preferably forever. Part of being a Canadian – along with telling each other at dinner parties how compassionate and lucky we are – involves gazing at computer screens, morosely taking in the dazzling choice and competition-driven prices in the American consumer marketplace. In the old, pre-internet days, Canadian consumers didn't realize the extent to which they were being hosed, and the business sector could collude in peace, and the government could collect taxes and protectionist duties to its heart's content without disturbing the bovine quiescence of the consuming...

The first thing you will realize when visiting Yellowstone National Park – aside from the astonishing beauty of nature and wildlife – is that you have entered an area that isn’t totally ruled by humans. A pair of visitors at the park recently recorded a video that proves this point, and it might make you feel a little uneasy.. As NBC Montana reports, Brandon Beshears captured and shared video of a wolf pack surrounding his truck while he was driving through the park one evening. Check out the video from NBC Montana’s Facebook below (VOLUME UP TO HEAR THE PACK...

[Catholic Caucus] Bishops narrowly approve USCCB rate hike for 2021 The bishops of the United States have narrowly approved an increase on the amount dioceses must contribute to the national bishops’ conference. The measure initially failed to pass when put to a vote during their November 2019 meeting and additional votes had to be collected by mail to ensure the measure passed. On the first day of their November meeting last year, the bishops voted in favor of a three percent rise in the amount each diocese in the country is required to contribute for the funding of the USCCB, based in...

Wisconsin lost 818 dairies in 2019 as farmers across the country suffer from Donald Trump's trade war with China. The state of Wisconsin, famous for its cheese, lost 10% of its dairy farms in 2019, Dairy Herd Management reported on Thursday. The loss of 818 dairies was the largest decline in Wisconsin history. Trouble for dairy farmers started in 2018, when Donald Trump engaged in a protracted trade war with China. In retaliation for increased tariffs from the United States, China placed tariffs on a number of U.S. agricultural exports. As a result, exports of U.S. dairy to China dropped...

SACRAMENTO — California has been slowly erasing legal immigration status as a requirement for medical coverage under the state’s healthcare program for low-income residents, allowing children and, this month, young adults living in the U.S. illegally to enroll. Now, Democratic lawmakers expect Gov. Gavin Newsom to embrace an effort to include seniors without legal status in the state’s Medi-Cal program — either in his new state budget or with his signature on legislation. Newsom will send the Legislature a full state spending plan this week and is expected to unveil it Friday. State Sen. Maria Elena Durazo (D-Los Angeles) said...

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez insisted she's a "proud" Democrat despite protesting a Democratic Party arm and withholding $250,000 in "dues" aimed at retaining the House majority. “I’m a Democrat, I’m proud to be on this team. I’m proud to be part of the Democratic majority,” Ocasio-Cortez told Fox News in an interview Friday amid criticism she should quit the party and become an independent if she won't be a "team player." As evidence that she's willing to work for the party, Ocasio-Cortez pointed to the more than $300,000 she’s raised directly for progressive candidates. That effort, she said, is for "preserving...

  • Wyoming Winter Traffic Hazard: Salt-Loving Mountain Goats

Dozens of salt-loving mountain goats are coming down from the slopes of western Wyoming to lick up the salt-and-sand mixture that snowplows spread over a highway, leading to collisions with vehicles traversing the icy canyon roadway. At least three goats were hit and killed by motorists over a five-day span in October and November near the tip of the Snake River Canyon south of Jackson and near the Idaho state line, Wyoming Game and Fish wildlife biologist Gary Fralick told the Jackson Hole News & Guide. The actual number of goats killed each year along U.S. Highways 26 and 89...
