[Barf Alert} Pope Francis urges United Nations to save the poor from climate change December 6, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) — Pope Francis has sent a message to the participants of the latest United Nations climate conference, which opened in Madrid last Monday, asking whether “there is the political will to allocate with honesty, responsibility and courage, more human, financial and technological resources to mitigate the negative effects of climate change, as well as to help the poorest and most vulnerable populations who suffer from them the most.” In a purely “horizontal” context, in which he spoke neither of God and...

Astronomers have captured the best and closest image to date of interstellar comet 2I/Borisov, a visitor that originated from outside of our solar system and is currently passing through. On Sunday, the comet will pass within 190 million miles of Earth on its closest approach before continuing on through our solar system. As it gets closer to Earth, the icy comet is shedding more gas and dust through its tail through evaporation. Astronomers at Yale University used the W.M. Keck Observatory's Low-Resolution Imaging Spectrometer, located in Hawaii, to provide the closest look at the interstellar comet since it was first...

Fairfax, VA – -(Ammoland.com)- Gun control advocates understand the power of language, if not the effective use of it. Over the years the anti-gun establishment has attempted to move away from the term “gun control” to more benign-sounding alternatives such as “commonsense gun safety” or “gun reform.” Their goal of civilian disarmament has remained constant, but the language has changed. Gun control advocates calculate that such shifts in language will further their political aims by obscuring their policy goals. On November 17, waning 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) tweeted the following, Traffic violence kills thousands and injures...

Chuck Todd, the host of “Meet the Press,” fired back Thursday after being repeatedly accused of McCarthyism by conservative commentator and Fox News personality Tucker Carlson. Mr. Todd delivered a monologue about McCarthyism during the NBC show’s latest episode, saying the term has been used recently absent “much intellectual honesty or care.” Without mentioning Mr. Carlson by name, Mr. Todd weighed in on the heels of the Fox News host repeatedly comparing him this week to former Sen. Joe McCarthy, the late Wisconsin Republican who infamously accused Americans during the Cold War of being communists. Mr. Todd played a montage...

A lot of people on Capitol Hill were surprised to find when Rep. Adam Schiff released the House Intelligence Committee’s report on the impeachment inquiry that Schiff had obtained the phone records of his colleague Rep. Devin Nunes and published them in the report, along with the call records of other people, such as one of Nunes’ staff members and a former staff member.Nunes told “Fox and Friends” that he finally had time to go through his call records, and he says they don’t match what Schiff and the Democrats put in their report. That’s not that hard to believe,...

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner took aim at Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden earlier this week during an event at the University of Pennsylvania. The progressive DA, speaking at an event hosted by Penn Democrats, talked about the 2020 election and suggested Biden was an example of the party's failed moderate strategy, according to The Daily Pennsylvanian. “This, in my mind, is the recipe for how Democrats have lost and lost and lost and lost,” Krasner reportedly said, urging the party to take a harder turn left to attract new voters. Krasner specifically questioned the intelligence of Biden, who has...

December 7 is the feast day of Aurelius Ambrosius, known to history as Saint Ambrose of Milan. He was born in Trier to a wealthy Roman family—his father, also named Ambrose, was Praetorian Prefect of Gaul according to Ambrose's ancient biographer, Paulinus of Milan. Paulinus relates a miracle associated with Ambrose's youth that seemed to presage a great future for the child: When he, as an infant placed in a cradle within the courtyard of the governor's residence, was sleeping with open mouth, suddenly a swarm of bees came and covered his face and lips in such a way that...

Portland, Oregon, like many cities on the left coast, is struggling with a growing homelessness crisis. But what can they do about it? One idea that’s now being floated is to change the building codes so that all new structures (including private property, not just government buildings) include spaces for people to “rest” and “feel welcome and safe.” This understandably has prospective property owners concerned, since the wording is all quite vague and suggests that they will be forced to allow the homeless to camp in and around their buildings. (KATU News) The obvious questions are already being raised....

He may not be on the Democratic ballot, but the 2020 presidential candidate wielding the most influence over the party's remarkably unsettled primary fight is President Donald Trump. As the race for the next occupant of the White House enters the final weeks of 2019, awash in a surprising degree of uncertainty, Democratic voters have Trump on their minds as much as the crowded field of contenders jockeying for the right to challenge him. From a distance, Trump is hanging over every aspect of the Democratic contest.

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the...

China controls North Korea; essentially as a proxy province. As a result Beijing controls the messaging from the DPRK. Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping is the captor and North Korean Chairman Kim Jong-un is the captive – it’s essentially a hostage dynamic. The historic objective has been to use DPRK aggression as a hedge against the west. Predictably there was going to come a moment when Chairman Xi realized the trade negotiations by his adversary, President Trump, were a hall of mirrors. The U.S. President has played China by using their own panda-mask strategy against them.

LIFE CHOICES What would you do? You make the choice. Don't look for a punch line...there isn't one. Read it anyway. My question is: Would you have made the same choice? At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves learning-disabled children, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended. After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he offered a question: "When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does is done with perfection. Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as other...

... When students realize that they will get into college no matter what they learn in grade school or high school, they will have no incentive to forgo activities that are more fun than attending school, listening to teachers, and doing homework. As Albert Shanker, the late president of the American Federation of Teachers, wrote in 1993, “Kids are just like adults: they will work to get what they want. If they know they have to work hard, listen in class, and come to school every day with their homework done to get into college, they’ll do that. If they...
