In the 1950's, companies were given generous tax breaks for investing their incomes within the country, but not outside the country. I'm just wondering if we shouldn't return to that model. I'm not arguing about the 90% tax rate, because that's a load of hooey and I'd rather have companies stay in the country. However, I think it is a fair question as to whether a company should receive tax breaks for sending their money overseas to develop other countries?

The Fake News Media is reporting that President Trump suggested dropping nuclear bombs into hurricanes to stop them from hitting the United States. IIRC, President Clinton also discussed dropping cylinders into hurricanes to help destroy them. Fidel Castro was opposed to it, thinking that they were a spying mechanism for when hurricanes were over Cuba. I worked for the Govt. of Puerto Rico during Hurricanes Floyd, Mitch & Georges in the late 1990s. This idea from the White House floated in our office. I'm pretty sure that the US govt. has probably 'purged' all this cylinder documentation from the Clinton...

French police have seized ten Chinese-owned wine châteaux in Bordeaux on suspicion of tax fraud and money laundering, a police source said on Friday. The châteaux, worth nearly £25 million, are owned by the Haichang Group, controlled by one of China’s richest men, Qu Naijie, 57, an oil billionaire. The group owns 24 estates in Bordeaux, including Château Chenu Lafitte, which it bought for nearly £9 million in 2011. The largest of the many Chinese investors who have bought Bordeaux wineries over the past decade, Haichang has invested nearly £50 million in the French wine industry. For the past four...

It’s time for Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand’s sputtering presidential campaign to call it quits, a friend of hers and two former aides told The Post. “It would be best if she decided that this was not her time,” said one longtime Gillibrand fundraiser, who claimed the Democratic contender’s well-heeled supporters want her to remain in the US Senate. “Most people that I talk to are very happy with her as their senator and don’t want her to give up her Senate seat and don’t see any realistic traction for her.”

The Likud began a campaign on Sunday portraying Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as “in another league” from his competition. As part of the campaign, the party hung massive posters from its 15-story headquarters in Tel Aviv featuring Netanyahu with US President Donald Trump, Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on three sides of the building. A Likud spokeswoman said that there would be no poster on the fourth side “for now.”

This is the great mystery of human vision: Vivid pictures of the world appear before our mind’s eye, yet the brain’s visual system receives very little information from the world itself. Much of what we “see” we conjure in our heads. “A lot of the things you think you see you’re actually making up,” said Lai-Sang Young, a mathematician at New York University. “You don’t actually see them.” New research suggests mathematics is the key. The visual cortex has a mind of its own. “You may think of the brain as taking a photograph of what you see in your...

President Trump has floated dropping nuclear bombs into hurricanes to stop them from hitting the United States in meetings with Homeland Security and national security officials, Axios reported Sunday. According to sources who have heard the president's private remarks and been briefed on a National Security Council memorandum, the suggestions were made during briefings on hurricanes. "I got it. I got it. Why don't we nuke them?" Trump said at one such White House briefing, a source who was there told Axios. "They start forming off the coast of Africa, as they're moving across the Atlantic, we drop a bomb...

After a recent bloody weekend in Chicago, the city’s top police officer reiterated something he’s said many times in recent months: People accused of gun-related offenses are too quickly and easily getting back on the street. This time, Superintendent Eddie Johnson unveiled a new online tool aimed at illustrating his point by giving the public a quick way to see who’s been arrested on gun-related charges and whether they have posted bail. “If we’re OK with how things are going, then don’t look at it,” Johnson said as he announced the Gun Offender Dashboard. “But if you want to know...

Yasmine Mohammed has a story that sounds like an adventure novel. The ex-Muslim, as she calls herself, escaped a forced marriage to an al-Qaeda operative, who was bailed out of prison by Osama bin Laden himself. The author of Confessions of an Ex-Muslim is now open about her past so she can help others, she told The Jerusalem Post. Mohammed says that she is on a mission to help closeted apostates living in Muslim-majority countries, and to teach the “naive West” about what she calls the true nature of Islam. The educator and author has become a prominent voice within...

Q is the result of the sacrifices and commitment of countless patriots to win back our captured country from the Deep State and achieve the transformation President Trump promised in this campaign video. President Trump has said the awakening of the public is key to this transformation. Q describes this awakening as follows: "The Great Awakening ('Freedom of Thought’), was designed and created not only as a backchannel to the public (away from the longstanding ‘mind’ control of the corrupt & heavily biased media) to endure future events through transparency and regeneration of individual thought (breaking the chains of...

"These family members ultimately restrained the victim using a rope. Held him against his will, assaulted him multiple times and even threatened to kill him," according to a news release sent to Fox News from the San Bruno Police Department. The news release said the victim eventually was "released" and ran away from the home. The 15-year-old's sister claimed her parents thought the boy was an intruder and acted in self-defense, KGO-TV reported. "They were so scared because they found someone in the closet. They jumped because everyone was sleeping and this guy started kicking my step-father and trying to...

Despite Australia’s historically strong alliance with the US, Pres Trump specifically named Australia as a nation whose part in what he calls the “Russia hoax” must be thoroughly investigated. “I’ve declassified everything,” Mr Trump told AAP reporters. “ I hope he looks at Australia and I hope he looks at Ukraine. I hope he looks at everything, because there was a hoax that was perpetrated on our country.” Mr Trump described the Russia probe as “an attempted coup or an attempted takedown of the president of the United States”. In addition to President Trump’s allegations, his former campaign aide George...

[Catholic Caucus] Pope Peron Argentine Catholics say Bergoglio rose to power as a ruthless chameleon. I am still in Buenos Aires collecting stories about Jorge Bergoglio. Some of them are real doozies; others are too sketchy and explosive to repeat. One persistent and widespread story about Bergoglio is that he used bailing out bad priests as a form of leverage over them. “Bergoglio would call up those investigating, say, a pederast priest and tell them to back off,” a Buenos Aires Church insider told me. “He then would inform the offending priest of his intervention and then use that to extract...

A new online tool launched by the Chicago Police Department allows the public to look up people who have been arrested on gun charges and whether they have made bail, prompting criticism by civil libertarians, according to The Associated Press. “If we’re OK with how things are going, then don’t look at it,” Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said of the Gun Offender Dashboard. “But if you want to know why we are suffering from some of the things we are, then take a look at it and come to your own conclusions.” In the meantime, shootings in the Windy City...

She went from being promoted as an international star in China’s state media after winning Miss World Canada to seeing her father’s livelihood destroyed because she wouldn’t stay quiet about the human rights abuses in her home country. Now, Anastasia Lin is a scholar-in-residence for one month with the Australian think tank the Centre for Independent Studies. The 29-year-old, described in a Globe and Mail editorial as the beauty queen that China saw and ran away from, revealed in an intimate interview that she has been told by many Chinese diasporas around the world that they worry about persecution...
