After a recent bloody weekend in Chicago, the city’s top police officer reiterated something he’s said many times in recent months: People accused of gun-related offenses are too quickly and easily getting back on the street.
This time, Superintendent Eddie Johnson unveiled a new online tool aimed at illustrating his point by giving the public a quick way to see who’s been arrested on gun-related charges and whether they have posted bail.
“If we’re OK with how things are going, then don’t look at it,” Johnson said as he announced the Gun Offender Dashboard. “But if you want to know why we are suffering from some of the things we are, then take a look at it and come to your own conclusions.”
The tool is part of a public relations offensive to draw attention to what Johnson and Mayor Lori Lightfoot say is a cause of gun violence in Chicago, where more people are fatally shot than in any other city in the U.S.
But critics decry it as a scare tactic that lumps people arrested while carrying or even standing near a gun with those who have pulled them out and used them. They say it unfairly maligns people who under the law are presumed innocent and is aimed at pressuring judges into keeping people locked up while they await trial.

Well, it is public record. Although it is unlikely many people would know how to find this information otherwise.
That said, it is a step on the slippery slope. Not far from liberals using this as justification for doxxing conservatives, as Castro did in Texas.
If guns were truly a menace, the people using them in crimes would be serving long prison sentences.
Instead a majority of them are released within 24 hours.
More proof that gun control is a lie designed to disarm peaceful, law-abiding citizens who stand in the way of the globalists.
Until they start using the laws we already have, they can’t have any new ones.
Lock up people arrested for gun crimes and they can’t shoot anybody.

Chicango has some of the most strict gun laws in our nation and as you can clearly see, gun control does not work.
The big city dems want to make sure the violence and death continues by making excuses for murderers just so they can keep on blaming white America for what they, and only they, have created.
THIS IS A PRIME EXAMPLE OF THEIR IGNORANCE AND STUPIDITY!!!
If these morons in the democrat cities do not want to change the culture of recreational homicide that they themselves have created then just keep killing each other.
And yes they have created that culture. The dems have been in control of these cities for 5 or 6 decades and have accepted this murder for recreation/sport as a part of their culture.
Either change your culture or keep burying your children.
You made it this way and only you can change it. None of the rest of us should give a damn about it if you refuse to take care of it and make the necessary changes to end the bloodshed.
More than half of the gun homicides and gun assaults in America come from these cities every year.
America does not have a gun problem.
The democrats and specifically the young black male democrats have a gun problem. Don't even think about taking my guns away when you refuse to stop this culture of homicide for sport to continue unabated.

Needs to be an “all-in-one” app since the list from each app would have members of the other app. Recommend each category as a displayed column, each offender a row in the table checkmarks with hotlinks to detail at each row/column coordinate.
In early sixties we had a gun range in the basement of our high school-ROTC training.

Our laws are not as strict as they once were. There are no bans, you can carry with a valid CCID and FOID, and there is no ban on magazines. When it comes to transport, your gun has to be in a lockable (not locked) case, unloaded, with no ammo in the case with the firearm.
New York, California, D.C., and Maryland in general are more strict.
However, one big issue is the fact that huge numbers of gun crimes are not solved, due to the method of the crimes. Many are drive-by shootings, some robberies, some random beefs which escalate. The drive-bys are the big common problem, along with on-foot blitzes, where offenders are picked up in a vehicle shortly afterwards, and witnesses refusing cooperation due to either fear or distrust.
The other is that sentences are lacking. We’re going to cease charging for possession and use of cannabis soon, so that should free up some room in lockup, which is nearly a rotating door for criminals who use guns. It’s just awful. Some murderers do less time than car thieves, and do it all over again to either get away with it or do the short amount of time. Those who do receive hard time could also be so proud that they laugh about it too, and that’s really not good.
