  • Buttigieg Joins Booker’s Call For Licensing Gun Owners

Indianapolis Mayor Pete Buttigieg is probably one of the longest-shots for president actually getting any media attention right now. The only longer shot I can think of is the mayor Miramar who seems to think he has a chance. Anyway, Buttigieg is running and is getting at least some media attention, enough so that one can’t rule him out as a candidate completely. The fact that he’s following Sen. Cory Booker’s lead on guns, however, just might.

[Catholic Caucus] The Knights of Malta and the Death of Chivalry On May 1, the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, which has just gone through one of its most tumultuous and troubling periods in its 900-plus-year history (see our coverage here), conducted its Chapter General. The purpose: to elect a new government. At the conclusion of the election, one thing has become clear: the takeover of the Knights of Malta is now complete. It was the first election since the coup d’état of January, 2017, during which Fra’ Matthew Festing, the English grand master of the Order and a man with...
  • Trump Claws Back Nearly $1B From California High-Speed Rail Project

The Trump administration declared California’s high-speed rail project dead yesterday, even while state officials extolled its beautiful plumage. Noting that the state had abandoned the full San Francisco to Los Angeles vision which prompted federal funding for the project, the White House pulled back nearly a billion dollars — and said it would come after the remaining $2.5 billion in federal investments as well: Put simply, this project has been a disaster from the beginning. Newsom and California officials claim that this move is payback for their opposition to Trump’s border policies, but these decisions stand well enough on their...

"Law and Order" fans, how's this for an episode? A retired judge calls for a special prosecutor to examine how Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx mishandled the notorious case of actor Jussie Smollett -- a case abandoned under peculiar circumstances that imply Foxx improperly gave the celebrity special and unfair treatment by dropping charges that he had faked and lied about a racist, homophobic attack by supporters of President Trump. The effort by Foxx's office to pre-empt appointment of a special prosecutor only intensifies questions: What's the full list of outsiders who sought to influence Foxx? Who motivated a...

Rose Garden 2:35 P.M. EDT THE PRESIDENT: Thank you very much, everybody. Thank you. Please. Thank you. Thank you very much. We’re here on this very beautiful spring day in the Rose Garden to unveil our plan to create a fair, modern, and lawful system of immigration for the United States. And it’s about time. (Applause.) If adopted, our plan will transform America’s immigration system into the pride of our nation and the envy of the modern world. Our proposal builds upon our nation’s rich history of immigration, while strengthening the bonds of citizenship that bind us together as a...

Lockheed Martin and RAFAEL have signed a cooperation agreement to jointly develop, manufacture, market and support RAFAEL’s Smart, Precise Impact and Cost-Effective (SPICE) missile guidance kits to Lockheed Martin’s platforms. RAFAEL already subcontracts about 80 percent of SPICE subassemblies to US manufacturers in eight states. The agreement will enable Israel to buy SPICE kits from the USA, using US military support funds. The agreement follows a market assessment evaluation done by the two partners in the past year. “Access to GPS is becoming increasingly limited in contested environments,” said Mr. Yuval Miller, executive vice president, and general manager of Rafael’s...

Out of all the criticisms of Donald Trump, the one I've never understood is that he's somehow anti-gay. The Trump/Pence ticket was supposed to have put up conversion-therapy camps all across America by now, right? Yet somehow it hasn't happened. With all the legitimate reasons for a person to oppose Trump, they still keep making stuff up. Pete Buttigieg has been capitalizing on this, depicting himself as some sort of victim. He wants you to think Trump is oppressing him. He just can't seem to get Trump to play along. Check out this clip from an interview Trump just gave...

When Chelsea Manning was released from jail last week after the grand jury she was stonewalling was dismissed, I suggested that she really enjoy some hot food and sleeping in a comfortable bed because she probably wouldn’t be out for long. Well, I hope she took that advice because she’s back behind bars again. And this grand jury is just coming out of the gate and could be in business for most of the year, which means Manning could be in jail for that long as well. But the judge added a twist to the confinement this time. (ABC News)...
  • [Worth Re-visiting]Roe v. Wade Is the Twentieth Century Equivalent of Dred Scott Case

January 22, 2015 marked the forty-second anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision in Roe v. Wade, in which the Court interpreted the Constitution as mandating that all states must allow abortion-on-demand (until fetal viability). In so ruling, the Court instantly gave America the most radical pro-abortion law in the world. The unwritten “constitutional” right to choose abortion as mandated by the Supreme Court is virtually absolute. States cannot directly or indirectly impede access to abortion. The right invented by the Roe Court is not, as it is often described, a right to have an abortion in the first trimester, but...

With all the dread of a man timorously tiptoeing across a minefield, Donny Deutsch eventually made his point: Elizabeth Warren's "tone and manner" is too off-putting to permit her to win the presidency. Poor Donny was very clearly afraid of running afoul of Mika Brzezinski in particular and feminists and identity-politics fans in general. He knew the feminists think women are somehow punished by the liberal media, and lamented that this is where we still are in 2019. But after stating that Warren doesn't have the "stuff" to beat President Trump, Deutsch eventually made his point, suggesting that Warren is...

For the last two years, the media have been complaining that Donald Trump was violating the Constitution's emoluments clause and enriching himself. There has been a series of nuisance lawsuits because heaven forbid people from foreign countries be staying at or playing at Trump properties. There is no indication that Trump is charging anyone extra or handing out favors for them staying there, but the lawsuits and garbage stories go on. Under those rules, no one who owns businesses that have any foreign customers need apply for the presidency. That way, only career politicians can win. Now the Washington Post...

Few people have the audacity to speak the truth about the underlying problem with the efforts to engineer “diversity” – which in practice means that blacks, Hispanics and Native Americans receive a share of jobs, college admissions, income, and other products of achievement at least proportional to their share of the population. Fortunately, Heather Mac Donald of the Manhattan Institute has a lot of guts. Last night, Ms. Mac Donald appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight and discussed the newly-announced “adversity score” adopted by the College Board publishers of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).  As explained by the New York...
  • Solomon A Type pf Christ...Solomon pt 10

The Bible is a record of real people, living out real history, and fulfilling the purposes of God, knowingly and unknowingly. All of the Prophets of the Bible in some way are tops of the Messiah to come. Moses, Joseph, David, Jeremiah, all lived out certain aspects of the suffering and triumph of Jesus Christ. Pharaoh tried to kill Moses as a child, just as Herod tried to kill the baby Jesus, Joseph was sold for silver by his brother Judah, just as Jesus was sold by Judas… I could go on and on. There are some also who are...

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem (Old Testament) 2 Samuel 23 David’s Mighty Warriors 8 These are the names of David’s mighty warriors: Josheb-Basshebeth,[a] a Tahkemonite,[b] was chief of the Three; he raised his spear against eight hundred men, whom he killed[c] in one encounter. 9 Next to him was Eleazar son of Dodai the Ahohite. As one of the three mighty warriors, he was with David when they taunted the Philistines gathered at Pas Dammim[d] for battle. German bishop: ‘Synodal path’ revisiting celibacy, sexual morality is ‘path of destruction’ GERMANY, May 16, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – Bishop Rudolf Voderholzer – the successor of Cardinal Gerhard Müller in Regensburg – has once more raised his voice in opposition to the decision of a majority of German bishops to start a “synodal” discussion about the Church's sexual morality and priestly celibacy. “A synodal process which aims at inventing a new Church is a path of destruction," said Bishop Voderholzer while speaking at the Austrian monastery Heiligenkreuz on May 11. "It splits Christians apart, it cuts the Church into pieces and finally also...

Here’s something to be grumpy about: Grumpy Cat, the furry feline who started as an Internet meme sensation before becoming a household name, has died. She was 7. Grumpy’s caretakers — Tabatha Bundesen, her brother Bryan Bundesen and her daughter Crystal Bundesen, all of Morristown, Arizona — announced the news on Friday morning in a touching message to the cat’s more than 12.4 million followers across social media. They explained that the cat had died “peacefully” in Tabatha’s arms on Tuesday morning, due to complications from a recent urinary tract infection that “unfortunately became too tough to overcome.”

Like the ghost in the attic, Hillary Clinton will not go away. She is haunting the country’s body politic, a shadow president making so much noise about being wronged in 2016, that she is sucking up the media coverage that would go to others. The others are the 23 or so Democrats running for president, most of whom nobody ever heard of. While they struggle to become known, Hillary Clinton elbows them aside.

Federal prosecutors have broken up a major marriage fraud ring in Houston that charged nearly 50 Vietnamese migrants up to $70,000 to provide them with fake spouses, phony wedding pictures and fraudulent documents, all for a shot at a U.S. green card. Investigators were tipped to the scam after an officer at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services spotted something fishy in 2017 and alerted fraud investigators, unraveling a scam that spanned from Texas to Vietnam and involved nearly 50 fake marriages. Now 96 people, many of them illegal immigrants, stand charged, and USCIS is looking at whether it can revoke...

(CNSNews.com) – “TREASON!” President Trump tweeted on Friday morning: My Campaign for President was conclusively spied on. Nothing like this has ever happened in American Politics. A really bad situation. TREASON means long jail sentences, and this was TREASON! In four other tweets, the president wrote: 58% of people say that the FBI broke the law in investigating Donald J. Trump. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! DRAIN THE SWAMP! “What happened is that Donald Trump won. Down goes Comey.” @foxandfriends Trump apparently was reacting to Bill Hemmer's interview with Attorney General William Barr, in which Barr said he has been "trying...
