GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) -- Governor Tony Evers laid out a number of proposals in his Biennial Budget Address that are not directly related to money. One of those proposals would make illegal immigrants eligible for driver's licenses and state IDs. The governor believes granting illegal immigrants the ability to get an ID will lead to safer roads and a stronger economy in the state. An estimated 15,000 undocumented immigrants live in Brown County alone. "I think having driver's licenses for people who are here illegally will make Green Bay and all of Wisconsin safer for all of us," said...

BIOMASS: ANOTHER “GREEN” FRAUD I would have said that nothing could exceed the folly of wind and solar energy, but biomass may come close. This Vox article is headlined: “Europe’s renewable energy policy is built on burning American trees.” You no doubt have heard of “biomass,” but likely don’t know what it actually means. As the headline suggests, it mostly means American trees. In the lowland forests of the American southeast, loblolly pines and cypress trees are grabbing carbon dioxide from the air right now. Using power from the sun, they release the oxygen and bind the carbon, building trunks,...

House Democrats are reintroducing their proposal of a financial transaction tax on stock, bond and derivative deals, and this time they've signed on a key new supporter: left-wing firebrand Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Rep. Peter DeFazio, D-Ore., is leading the effort to bring back a bill, titled the "Wall Street Tax Act of 2019," which slaps a tax on securities transactions and could have a particular negative effect on high-frequency traders. Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is the lead co-sponsor. DeFazio is expected to file the bill on Tuesday. "What we were looking at is if there's a sweet spot when you do a...

Already accused of using a flamethrower to torch her luxury SUV in a parking lot, authorities say a Barrington woman now faces charges alleging she orchestrated tens of thousands of threatening telephone calls, text messages and emails to a man since 2016... Authorities said the man is the same Barrington resident who Gagne contended bought her the $1,600 flamethrower on his credit card in 2017 because she was unable to charge it on her account.

And thus Juan Guaido returned to Venezuela. Through the normal entry point at Maiquetia airport. He went in a triumphant caravan all the way to Caracas to attend a rally. That caravan and rally were immense... ….it was a major defeat for chavismo that had to bow to international pressure, and to a popular will favoring Guaido for which denial is now useless. True, several ambassadors were waiting for Guaido in Maiquetia to shepherd him to Caracas. But had the regime wanted to arrest Guaido it would have done so at customs.... ….the regime caved in, at least for now....

Venezuela has been in a deep crisis under the authoritarian rule of President Nicolás Maduro of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV). Maduro was narrowly elected in 2013 after the death of populist President Hugo Chávez, who had served since 1999. Maduro’s regime has exhibited high levels of corruption and economic mismanagement, which have exacerbated the impact of a decline in global oil prices on the country’s economy. According to the International Monetary Fund, Venezuela’s economy contracted by 18% and inflation exceeded 1.37 million percent in 2018. Nevertheless, Maduro has used the courts, security forces, and electoral council to...

For almost a decade, astronomers have tried to explain why so many pairs of planets outside our solar system have an odd configuration—their orbits seem to have been pushed apart by a powerful unknown mechanism. Yale researchers say they've found a possible answer, and it implies that the planets' poles are majorly tilted. NASA's Kepler mission revealed that about 30% of stars similar to our Sun harbor "Super-Earths." Their sizes are somewhere between that of Earth and Neptune; they have nearly circular and coplanar orbits; and it takes them fewer than 100 days to go around their star. Yet curiously,...

Before you impeach somebody, you have to persuade the American public that it ought to happen. You have to persuade enough of the — of the opposition party voters, Trump voters, that you're not just trying to ... that you're not just trying to steal the last — to reverse the results of the last election." says Nadler

Moscow, March 4, Interfax - Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia plans to visit North Korea, the patriarchal press secretary, priest Alexander Volkov, has said. "The patriarch plans to visit North Korea, but it is at present too early to speak about specific dates," the priest told Interfax, commenting on the words of Metropolitan Sergy, the patriarch's exarch in Southeast Asia, who told reporters in Bangkok on Sunday that Patriarch Kirill might visit North Korea in the near future at the invitation of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The patriarch visited Pyongyang in 2006, when he was a...

The California rail authority delivered a sharp rebuttal Monday to the Trump administration, saying its threat to cancel and rescind $3.5 billion in grants for the state bullet train project is “rash and unlawful.” In two letters to the Federal Railroad Administration, state officials say they have not breached the terms and conditions of the grants and are making progress in building what would be a transformative passenger rail system. The federal agency issued notice two weeks ago that it intended to terminate a $929-million grant issued in 2010 for the high-speed rail system and was exploring options to seek...

A theologian said it is difficult to store wheat bread in the Amazon climate, however there are doubts over the validity of such a moveA leading South American theologian has said October’s Amazon Synod will discuss replacing bread used in the consecration of the Eucharist with yuca, a shrub native to the region. Jesuit Fr Francisco Taborda said traditional bread usually used in the Mass often turns to mush in the extreme humidity of the Amazon, meaning “it’s not bread, and if it’s not bread, it’s not the Eucharist.” The priest, a professor of theology at the Jesuit university in...

THE establishment pays lip service to Christianity, parading on special occasions in cathedrals and producing ‘safe’ Christian programmes such as Songs of Praise. But when it runs into unabashed Christianity prepared to deny progressive pieties, the mask slips. There is growing alienation between Christians holding a biblical worldview and the establishment in our increasingly secular society. Video of the arrest of Oluwole Ilesanmi, a street preacher in Wood Green, north London, has gone viral. Arrests of street preachers for causing offence have become routine. This instance reveals the underlying prejudices of the establishment. Mr Ilesanmi was arrested by police under...

CPAC 2019, the Conservative Political Action Conference hosted near Washington DC this year, welcomed Americans and friends of America from all backgrounds, colors, and countries. In what would come as a surprise to the mainstream media and their relentless campaign of painting conservatives as haters, a significant fraction of CPAC’s attendees were religious Jewish men in kippahs. In fact, CPAC hosted a kosher dinner and a kosher lunch for its Jewish guests. In high contrast to the liberal dogma that Jews are victims of the MAGA movement, CPAC revealed the truth - that conservatives are people from all religions and countries...

Fox News contributor laments 'witches' brew of outright lies and distortion'Juan Williams is worried that a Shakespearean tragedy awaits the nation in 2020 if President Trump loses his re-election bid. The fictional witches in “Macbeth” chanted “double, double toil and trouble; fire burn and caldron bubble” as they worked their magic, but the Fox News analyst says Mr. Trump has a “witches’ brew” that is legitimately dangerous. “It is no longer outside the realm of possibility that Trump could refuse to leave if he loses the 2020 election,” Mr. Williams warned in an op-ed for The Hill on Monday. “And...
