CPAC 2019, the Conservative Political Action Conference hosted near Washington DC this year, welcomed Americans and friends of America from all backgrounds, colors, and countries. In what would come as a surprise to the mainstream media and their relentless campaign of painting conservatives as haters, a significant fraction of CPAC’s attendees were religious Jewish men in kippahs. In fact, CPAC hosted a kosher dinner and a kosher lunch for its Jewish guests.
In high contrast to the liberal dogma that Jews are victims of the MAGA movement, CPAC revealed the truth - that conservatives are people from all religions and countries of origin who join together to embrace American values and freedoms. CPAC’s Nazi symbol count was zero.
And while conservatives continued to concentrate on the shared values that bring us together, liberals continued their fall down their anti-Semitic rabbit hole. Democrat darling Ilhan Omar, a repeat offender anti-Semite, declared that it is disloyal for American Jews to support Israel. (The proposition is that non-Jews can support Israel, that is okay, but for Jews to support Israel is treasonous.) This nugget of brilliance came from a woman whose best friend in Congress, Rashida Tlaib, draped herself in a Palestinian flag when she won an American election and who replaced the country of Israel with Palestine on her map as the first course of business in US Congress. Omar has never called Tlaib disloyal to America.
Last week, Ilhan Omar, while sitting next to Rashida Tlaib, had blamed her anti-Semitism on the Jews, claiming that they don’t let her get away with saying anti-Semitic things…
This was just a few weeks after Omar was scolded by some (not all) members of her own party for repeating the anti-Semitic trope that Jewish money, and Jewish money alone, is the explanation for why Americans support Israel. Some liberals, including a number of journalists, audaciously defended Omar’s anti-Semitic comments. “Accurately describing how the Israel lobby works is not anti-Semitism,” tweeted Ashley Feinberg, a writer for the alt-left Huffington Post. Omar shared this and other tweets made in her defense in a bid to affirm her anti-Semitic tropes as true. The evermore-liberal Nancy Pelosi refused to remove Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee after Omar made and then defended the anti-Semitic canard, sparking outrage from conservatives and Vice President Mike Pence.
Compare and contrast the Democrats’ approach to Omar with that of the Republicans when Steven King made a remark indicative of an embrace of white supremacy. Republicans immediately took action and removed King from committee assignments. Democrats, on the other hand, kept Omar on the Foreign Affairs Committee, the exact place where Omar’s anti-Israel and anti-Semitic predispositions can do the most damage.
In response to Omar’s most recent anti-Semitic comments, Democrat chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Rep. Eliot Engel said that Omar’s remarks amounted to a “vile anti-Semitic slur” and called on her to apologize. But, yet again, he did not call for Omar to be removed from the Foreign Affairs Committee. Pelosi has not yet commented on Omar’s most recent canards.
Omar’s anti-Semitism is nothing new. In 2012, Omar tweeted, “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.” During her election, conservative media blasted the then-candidate Omar for her anti-Semitic tweets while CNN, which I have previously exposed as vehemently anti-Israel, unsurprisingly made no mention of Omar's tweet. After her election, Omar defended the tweet and stated that conservatives are going after her only because she is Muslim.
Let’s embrace them warmly AND stay completely out of wars that do not belong to us.
Most American Jews will never join with conservatives. Never.
Sad but true.
The Left loves anyone who is against Christians. Can’t have Socialism with a strong unifying moral based religion.
For a look at what traditional Orthodox Jews really think of today’s Democrats and Pres. Trump, check out some of the talks of
Rabbi Mendel Kessin and Rabbi Yosef Mizrachi.
They’re from very different backgrounds but are in great demand as speakers and teachers.
When liberal Jews are among the strongest critics of the State of Israel, it demonstrates that there is a weakness in the argument that being anti-Israel is an anti-Semitic stand.
I believe that anti-Semitism should be assigned only to those who are anti-Jewish in some broader sense than being anti-Israel.
If one takes issue with the foreign policy of Italy or Spain does that make them anti-Christian or anti-Catholic?
Now I don’t need any convincing that radical Democratic politicians are anti-Israel, but to label some of them anti-Semitic is rather meaningless if their political support comes mainly from liberal Jews and their allies.
As to any Muslim politician being anti-Semitic, here again it would take more of a general demonstration of being anti-Jewish. For now I would prefer to fight this fight on the basis of our support for Israel being a good thing, and not unconditionally, those who believe that we must support the Israeli government in every measure are hampering our ability to ask for a rational set of policies. Not every decision ever made by an Israeli government is a good one or worthy of our support. In general, they are our allies and their enemies are our enemies. This does not mean there should be unconditional acceptance of all they say and do.
I have found that in many cases, what people on the right call anti-Semitism on the left is really anti-conservatism, it just happens that Israel has a conservative (Jewish obviously) government. But for liberal Jews there is still lots of good will and affection. It’s probably neither a religious nor a racial question, but a political values question. We would be wise to remember this because it is actually us Christian conservatives that they truly hate, not Jews.
Have any Jews made the switch?
Secular, liberal Jews are dying off and not being replaced. Traditional religious Jews are growing in number, and they are very conservative politically and socially.
That’s also happening somewhat in Israel.
More accurately, some may drift to the Republicans, but never abandon "social justice" and statism.
You had some American Jews becoming neo-conservatives when they were driven out of the Left in the 1960's. Unfortunately, they remained advocates of statism and the US being involved in endless wars overseas.
We may be seeing a repeat of the 1960's phenomenon.
“As Liberals Embrace Anti-Semitism, Conservatives Welcome Jews..”
Should read “as jews embrace anti-semitism”. Go figure .
They have a toe hold. That rag should be ripped off her head and she should be told never to wear it again in the people’s house.
No let’s not embrace them. They adhered to our enemies and need to feel pain because of that.
No they are not really growing in number. Only compared to liberal Jews.
Conservatives embrace Hollywood and Mainstream Media?
Every single Jewish friend I have, except one that has worked inside the belt way for the past 30 years, have walked away from the Rat party.
Jexit. Small but appears to be growing.
Come on over. Come on in. We have bagels and cream cheese...
A Jewish friend of mind, whose a rat, is shocked his 25 y.o. daughter hates Israel.
They made their bed... What did they expect?
I live in a predominant Jewish community in Broward county Fl. I know a few that voted for Trump...but they won’t admit it to their friends. Israelis are a different type. Most I have met are very vical in their support of TRUMP.
