Hill Air Force Base is a U.S. Air Force base located in northern Utah, just south of the city of Ogden, and near the towns of Clearfield, Riverdale, Roy, Sunset, and Layton. It is about 30 miles north of Salt Lake City. The base was named in honor of Major Ployer Peter Hill of the U.S. Army Air Corps, who died test-flying a prototype of the B-17 Flying Fortress bomber.

The 75th Air Base Wing is the host unit at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, and is the Air Force's second largest base by population and geographical size. The 75th ABW oversees 1,000,000 acres and more than 1,700 facilities valued at $4 billion while providing installation support for the Ogden Air Logistics Complex, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, Air Force active duty 388th and Reserve 419th Fighter Wings and more than 50 mission partners that employ more than 21,000 personnel.

Hill AFB is the home of the Air Force Materiel Command's (AFMC) Ogden Air Logistics Complex which is the worldwide manager for a wide range of aircraft, engines, missiles, software, avionics, and accessories components. The commander of the Air Logistics Complex is Brigadier General H. Brent Baker Sr. The Ogden Air Logistics Complex is part of the Air Force Sustainment Center.

The Utah Test and Training Range is one of the only live-fire U.S. Air Force training ranges within the United States. It is located in far western Utah, close to the Nevada border, and it extends both north and south of Interstate Highway 80, with several miles of separation on each side of the Interstate Highway.

The portion of the bombing range that lies north of Interstate 80 is also west of the Great Salt Lake. The Utah Test and Training Range lies in Tooele County, and the land is owned by the state of Utah, but the use of the airspace and training exercises are scheduled by Hill AFB.

Hi, weren’t you there recently?
Lost a good friend there when he flew a Viper into the unforgiving Wasatch terrain.
The cost of freedom and a big loss for many of us.

We got over a foot of it last night, and it was very heavy and wet. Ugh!

Yo radu!

Well I for one am really, really, realllllly ready for Spring.

It's been unseasonably cold, we should be in the mid 40's by now and it hasn't gotten out of the 20's. More snow expected this week and then maybe a warm-up.

*Groan*

Wassup with you? You have that other house in order?

Did you move Aunt Clara or did I hear wrong?

Howdy, PRO!

You aren’t the only one who’s more than ready for Spring! This cold weather sux! We make it up to 32 this afternoon and are on the way down into the teens tonight. Tomorrow won’t be much better. At least we don’t have snow like you have. We’ve just had too much rain and have more coming later this week. *sigh*

Clara’s still at the same nursing home she’s been in for a few years. We’re just cleaning out her hoarder-hell-hole of a house these days. Not this week, though, since it isn’t heated and it’s way too cold in there.

Martha’s house has been pretty much cleaned out of the junk but the boxes of good items are still piled up in there.

Too old for all this cleaning out stuff, especially the amount of stuff we’re dealing with. Insanity.

Howdy, LUV.

Was it any warmer there today or still freezing?
It was freezing here, with a nasty wind, so I went nowhere. Bummer because it looked so pretty through the windows with THE SUN shining brightly.

It sure is. I don’t think it got higher than the upper 30s today and it’s 23 right now. Just glad the kitties ate fast tonight. They wanted to get back to their hidey-holes! Me,too!

Sounds like you had a miserable day, too. But at least you had the sun coming in to cheer up the house.
