Authorities said the man is the same Barrington resident who Gagne contended bought her the $1,600 flamethrower on his credit card in 2017 because she was unable to charge it on her account.

I once knew a woman who threatened to use a flamethrower on a guy with and said “I know where to get one and I know how to use it.”
I know this because the guy ended up suing her, and in the courtroom the guy talked about how afraid he was that she would really do it.
One might think this is exactly what someone would say if they were suing and the threat was part of the suit, but...IMO, that guy had good reason to be afraid.
The woman was very competent and extraordinarily intelligent, but also had the capability to be bats**t crazy.
If you have ever seen the movie “The Devil Wears Prada”, that was the woman, but without the seeming need to be er...”genteel”.
I got along well with her, being ex-military (as was she, so I think she related to me better) but that woman pulled enemies in her wake the way seagulls bob behind a fishing boat.
