Former U.S. Congressman and Lt. Col. Allen West expressed his opposition to a potential move by Pres. Obama to use military enlistment as a vehicle to grant amnesty to illegal aliens. In a post on his website on Thursday, Lt. Col. West said, "the purpose of serving our nation should not be about earning citizenship. It should be about being a guardian of the Republic." Lt. Col. West added that he'll speak out against any Member of Congress who supports a policy to grant a military amnesty.

So how did Politico break the George Stephanopoulos Clinton Foundation donations story? Actually they didn't break it at all. The story was shopped to Politico after the Washington Free Beacon made inquiries to ABC News about Stephanopoulos' contributions to the Clinton Foundation. Apparently ABC News thought Politico would offer more favorable coverage so they leaked the story to Politico. However, to his great credit, Politico writer Jack Shafer not only acknowledged the critical role of the Free Beacon but was also highly critical of ABC News for this tactic. First let us look at this morning's Free Beacon announcement of who really broke this...

Quick! The bad guy/super villain has left the room! Plug in a mysterious device that’ll hack up their computer while an on-screen progress bar ticks forward to convey to the audience that things are working! It’s a classic scene from basically every spy movie in history. In this case, however, that mystery device is real. Samy Kamkar — developer of projects like that massive worm that conquered MySpace back in 2006, or SkyJack, the drone that hijacks other drones — has released a video demonstrating the abilities of a particularly ridiculous “necklace” he sometimes wears around. Called USBdriveby, it’s a...

With each passing day I grow increasingly tired of debating anti-American contrarians who refuse to recognize even the most universally espoused truths. It is nearly impossible to engage the left in meaningful discourse, allow voters an earnest opportunity to judge candidates on the merits of their beliefs and record, without Democrats resorting to juvenile grandstanding and the regurgitated accusations of race, gender, and class warfare. When the American flag becomes offensive in the country for which it was commissioned, government transparency requires a coup d'etat, handouts are more celebrated than hard work, and the necessity of protecting our borders and...

CAMP DAVID -- Sixty-seven years to the day since Israel declared independence, and 37 years since it signed a peace accord with Egypt here at the American presidential retreat in Maryland, US President Barack Obama cast doubt on the prospects for peace between Israel and the Palestinian people on Thursday after meeting with Arab leaders. A final Israeli-Palestinian accord "seems distant now," Obama said from Camp David, reiterating the US position that an agreement recognizing two states for two peoples is "absolutely vital" for greater Middle East peace. "Since we're up here at Camp David, I think it's important to...

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is disappointed with today’s announcements related to new charges in the deaths of 21 dogs at an East Valley pet boarding business in 2014. The owners of the Green Acre Boarding business in Gilbert have been indicted by a Maricopa County grand jury in the 2014 incident. Jesse Todd Hughes and Maleisa Maurine Hughes face animal cruelty and fraud charges. The new charges came after Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery withdrew previous indictments against the owners as well as Austin and Logan Flake. Austin Flake is the son of U.S. Sen. The House rebuffed a proposal Thursday to close the Guantanamo Bay detention facility by the end of 2017. An amendment to the annual national defense authorization that would provide a framework for closing the prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, failed on a vote of 174-249. Rep. Adam Smith (D-Wash.), the top Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee and author of the amendment, called the facility an "international eyesore." He noted that the U.S. already has prisons that can hold dangerous convicted terrorists. "We have the facilities. We have the ability to hold them safely here," Smith said. The legislation...

A bipartisan coalition came close Thursday to protecting immigration-related language in the fiscal 2016 National Defense Authorization Act — but not close enough. A 221-202 vote on an amendment, offered by Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Ala., stripped a provision in the underlying bill encouraging the Pentagon to study options for enlisting undocumented immigrants into the military in exchange for a pathway to legal status. All 182 Democrats voted “no,” joined by 20 Republicans. Passage of the Brooks amendment will prompt a sigh of relief from GOP leaders, who feared its failure would put the entire NDAA bill in jeopardy — at...

1. Forms and character of Dogmatics Dogmatics – as a particular ‘branch’ and ‘lesson’ of Theology – appeared in the West for the first time and was introduced in the Orthodox Theological Schools during later times. A major characteristic of this branch, as compared to other lessons of Theology, is its systematic character. While other branches of Theology are preoccupied with the dogmatic belief of the Church, Dogmatics approaches this faith by theme, and systematically expounds it. The Church’s systematic preoccupation with the faith appears during the patristic period for the first time, especially with Origen (his work “On Principles”),...

OYSTER BAY -- On Monday, June 8, CBS became the first of the big three television networks to address key facts about Commerce Secretary Ron Brown's death, a story first reported by Christopher Ruddy in The Pittsburgh Tribune Review last December. The account was offered in the season's concluding episode of "Michael Hayes", a prime time series starring David Caruso (formerly of "NYPD Blue"). The episode so closely paralleled Ruddy's report that it could have been a virtual docu-drama had not CBS decided to drop Brown's name from the production. A CBS source said writers for "Michael Hayes" recently began...

The length to which ABC, its news division, and its parent company (Disney) have gone to protect and curry favor with the Clintons is almost impossible to grasp. To begin with, in 1996, ABC News hired George Stephanopoulos, a former Clinton campaign and White House official. Within a few years he would become the ABC new division’s chief anchor and political reporter. Then, just today, we learn that ABC News and Stephanopoulos are involved in a massive conflict of interest — a $50,000 donation Stephanopoulos made to the Clinton Foundation. That’s right, the symbol of ABC News has an ongoing...
