Former Congressman and Lt. Col. Allen West Speaks Out Against Military Amnesty

Former U.S. Congressman and Lt. Col. Allen West expressed his opposition to a potential move by Pres. Obama to use military enlistment as a vehicle to grant amnesty to illegal aliens. In a post on his website on Thursday, Lt. Col. West said, "the purpose of serving our nation should not be about earning citizenship. It should be about being a guardian of the Republic." Lt. Col. West added that he'll speak out against any Member of Congress who supports a policy to grant a military amnesty.

Denham and Coffman are out saying they speak for all veterans.

I can't find this week's quote where Denham or Coffman launched an attack on opponents of amnesty.

“I know there are a lot of members that have never worn the cloth of our nation like I have,” Denham said.

I would agree with the policy of earned citizenship for military service. The question is, can I believe in today’s military given the enemy islamist Commander in Chief?

If someone had a classic permanent resident status, I’m okay with a waiver being issued and allowing them in. The Obama method of letting anyone in though is a recipe for disaster.

Seems the real thrust is to get partisans who have no loyalty to America into positions to mind those who do.

Let only those who are willing to put their lives on the line in service to their family, their community, their country; have a voice in that in that families, communities and countries most important decisions.

Yes, I refer to that here every once in a while. IIRC, suffrage and office holding only for veterans, everyone else gets all the other benefits of citizenship/

Agreed; all benefits, that do not directly affect policy formulation or implementation.
Be a mega business man or woman and make billions of dollars; pay your taxes, receive the legal protections the state has to offer. But KEEP YOUR NOSE AND MONEY OUT OF GOVERNMENT.

After retiring with 24 years in the AF, I came back as a civilian. Due to my experience in the classified arena, I became our security manager. It was amazing how many latinos had their paperwork come back for clarification as to whether or not they lied about the citizenship og their parent (usually single mother). They had been told theta the parent had gone through the process of becoming a legal citizen and it turned out that wasn't true. Some were genuinely upset and others were examples of "good illegals" and couldn't give a hoot.
