When normal people happen to "find" their own money, it might mean a twenty left in a winter coat, or discovering change beneath the sofa cushions. But if you're Charlie Rangel, it means doubling your net worth.

I posted this Saddam regime document translation on September 9 2006 but in light of the Associated Press despicable act to publish a picture of a dying Marine Hero, I think it is worth reposting again to show what the despicable AP is really about. Document ISGQ-2005-00026108.pdf dated July 25 2000 is a report from an Iraqi Intelligence officer to different Iraqi Intelligence Directorates talking about information provided to them from a trusted source that works in the Associated Press (AP). The information is about the formation a newly formed UN weapons inspectors team called UNMOVIC. Translation of page 4...

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jobless since January, Donald Money has already moved in with his elderly parents, stopped going to the movies and started using less of his prescription medication so it will last longer. This month, something else will fall by the wayside: Money’s unemployment check. The 43-year-old former printing press operator is among the more than 1.3 million Americans whose unemployment insurance benefits will run out by the end of the year, placing extra strain on an economy that is just starting to recover from the worst downturn in a generation. These are the most unfortunate of America’s 14.5...

DETROIT -- Ernie Harwell, the 91-year-old Baseball Hall of Fame honoree and longtime broadcaster for the Detroit Tigers, said Friday that he has inoperable cancer. Harwell said he began feeling ill this summer. He had surgery last month for an obstructed bile duct. Doctors found a cancerous tumor and several days ago advised him against further surgery. "They told us what the situation was," he said. "We trusted their judgment." "As always, Ernie takes the positive side of it," Detroit manager Jim Leyland said before the start of the Tigers game at Tampa Bay on Friday evening. "We're all thinking...

A Nevada-based political action committee is raising money to help to defeat Democratic Senator Harry Reid in his re-election bid next year. The effort to defeat the Senate majority leader is being spearheaded by the Dump Reid Political Action Committee -- which laments the fact that President Obama is not up for re-election for three more years. But nothing, says the group, would send a stronger message to the president than taking out Reid -- his "quarterback" in the U.S. Senate. The PAC's spokesman, Saul Anuzis, says Reid has been President Obama's point man in Congress, often telling the citizens...

Last week the Office of Management and Budget released its updated fiscal outlook for the next ten years. Called the Mid-Session Review (MSR), the report was eagerly awaited in light of the growing alarm at the seemingly unrestrained spending of the current administration. This alarm is growing so widespread and intense that it threatens to sink much of the president's program. Whether it comes to healthcare, cap-and-trade or various economic stimuli, their projected multi-trillion dollar costs are the number one concern on the minds of most voters. Knowing that more bad fiscal news would effectually doom his agenda, the president...

Attorny General Eric Holder noted it was hard to talk about race, but it was cowardly not to try. In that spirit, he should answer questions about the dismissal of a voter-intimidation case involving a black hate group in Philadelphia. On last presidential election day two black men in paramilitary uniforms, one wielding a nightstick, were reported harrassing voters at a polling place. The Justice Department was prepared to act. Samir Shabazz, head of the Philadelphia chapter of the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, and Jerry Jackson, a party member, were deployed 15 feet from the polling place "in...

(I made this short video of today's TEA Party Express event held in Addison/Dallas, TX.) Just pics, no music, couldn't find exactly what I was looking for--yes, I know the dates are wrong on some of the pics, for some reason my camera is a day behind despite being correct in the camera menu! Go figure. The photostory for this event was made with MS Photostory 3 for Windows.

Now Charlie’s in trouble! Yesterday the Washington Post dedicated an editorial consisting of four whopping paragraphs demanding Rangel resign. For what it’s worth, the piece is here, outlining the laundry list of alleged infractions: Thursday, September 3, 2009 Sorry, Charlie Rep. Rangel must step aside as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.... We called on Mr. Rangel to resign his coveted post last November while the House ethics committee probed his contact with a potential donor to a pet project who also had business before the committee. Mind you, that committee already was looking into his using official...

By mid-Friday, it was clear that the days of green jobs czar Van Jones are numbered in the Obama administration. Forget radio shock jock Glenn Beck, who's trying to get Jones fired. Even White House spokesman Robert Gibbs offered only lukewarm enthusiasm for keeping Jones. On Friday Gibbs said, "He continues to work in the administration..." Oh, and Gibbs added that Obama does not agree with Jones' signing of a petition to investigate possible federal involvement in 9/11. No kidding...

Since there has not been one non-Islamic country with the guts to stand up to the Mullahs of Iran, they continue to lash out in arrogance as they pursue their nuclear ambitions. Hopefully Israel will do what needs to be done ASAP. Iran says US nuke documents 'forged' By WILLIAM J. KOLE VIENNA – Iran accused the U.S. on Friday of using "forged documents" and relying on subterfuge to make its case that Tehran is trying to build a nuclear weapon, according to a confidential letter obtained by The Associated Press.

Almost everyone is aware that federal government spending in the United States is scheduled to skyrocket, primarily because of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Recent "stimulus" packages have accelerated the process. Only the naively optimistic actually believe that politicians will fully resolve this looming fiscal crisis with some judicious combination of tax hikes and program cuts. Many predict that, instead, the government will inflate its way out of this future bind, using Federal Reserve monetary expansion to fill the shortfall between outlays and receipts. But I believe, in contrast, that it is far more likely that the United States will...

Here is video of an outstanding interview Glenn Beck did today with David Horowitz. He is a former avowed communist, who is now a conservative, but has keen insights into the minds of radical Leftists. Horowitz said the Radical Left has been trying to get power for half a century, and now they have their shot. He said the leaders of the Radical Left come out of the Communist Movement in the 1950's that failed. Horowitz said when he sees a guy like Van Jones, who has called himself a communist in the past, now in the White House, he...

There are many things public officials probably shouldn't do during a severe recession, but no one seems to have told the leaders in Florida about them. One thing, for instance, would be giving a dozen top aides hefty raises while urging a rise in property taxes, as the mayor of Miami-Dade County recently did. Or jacking up already exorbitant hurricane-insurance premiums, as Florida's government-run property insurer just did. Or sending an army of highly paid lobbyists to push for a steep hike in electricity rates, as South Florida's public utility is doing. And you wonder why the Sunshine State is...

In the Politico today, Secretary Gates admonishes the AP for publishing a photo of Lance Corporal Joshua Bernard dying in Afghanistan: Defense Secretary Robert Gates is objecting “in the strongest terms” to an Associated Press decision to transmit a photograph showing a mortally wounded 21-year-old Marine in his final moments of life, calling the decision “appalling” and a breach of “common decency.” The AP reported that the Marine’s father had asked – in an interview and in a follow-up phone call — that the image, taken by an embedded photographer, not be published. AP reported in a story that it...
