A Nevada-based political action committee is raising money to help to defeat Democratic Senator Harry Reid in his re-election bid next year.
The effort to defeat the Senate majority leader is being spearheaded by the Dump Reid Political Action Committee -- which laments the fact that President Obama is not up for re-election for three more years. But nothing, says the group, would send a stronger message to the president than taking out Reid -- his "quarterback" in the U.S. Senate.
The PAC's spokesman, Saul Anuzis, says Reid has been President Obama's point man in Congress, often telling the citizens of Nevada one thing and then manipulating his votes and power for the liberal Democratic agenda instead of Nevada's agenda.
"[Senator Reid] favors socializing medicine. He has said that he personally opposes gun control, and then allows for votes in the Senate to basically limit the Second Amendment," says Anuzis. "As a Mormon he personally opposes abortion -- and yet at the same time, he has pushed and supported all the pro-choice legislation that has gone through the Senate."
Perhaps as a result, Anuzis says, Reid has been taking it on the chin in polls against potential Republican challengers back home.

Not really disagreeing with the statement, but people like Dear Leader don't care about folks like Reid... they just consider them necessary casualties of war.
If Harry wants to be reelected... he is going to have to refute Obama sooner or later... this will be priceless to watch.

A number of respectable Republicans are looking at the race. It looks like state GOP Chairwoman Sue Lowden will run, and state Senator Mark Amodei is looking at running.
