Barack Hussein Obama will propose a massive business tax on greenhouse gases in his FY 2010 federal budget to be presented this week.
The massive tax increase and power grab was buried at the end on article on Obama's forthcoming budget proposal in The New York Times:
On energy policy, Mr. Obama’s budget will show new revenues by 2012 from his proposal to require companies to buy permits from the government for greenhouse gas emissions above a certain cap. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the permits would raise up to $300 billion a year by 2020.
Since companies would pass their costs on to customers, Mr. Obama would have the government use most of the revenues for relief to families to offset higher utility bills and related expenses. The remaining revenues would cover his proposals for $15 billion a year in spending and tax incentives to develop alternative energy.
The proposal is in keeping with a policy announcement candidate Obama made in 2007, as reported then by The Times:
"No business will be allowed to emit any greenhouse gases for free," Mr. Obama said in Portsmouth, N.H. "Businesses don’t own the sky, the public does, and if we want them to stop polluting it, we have to put a price on all pollution."
Obama famously said in 2008 he would make American citizens' electricity rates skyrocket under his plan:
"What I've said is that we would put a cap-and-trade system in place that is more -- that is as aggressive if not more aggressive than anybody else's out there, so if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can, it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted.
"When I was asked earlier about the issue of coal, uh, you know, under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.
Regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad, because I'm capping greenhouse gases, coal-powered plants, you know, natural gas, whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money, they will pass that money on to consumers. If you can't persuade the American people that, yes, there's going to be some increase in electricity rates on the front end, but that over the long term because of combinations of more efficient energy usage and changing lightbulbs and more efficient appliances, but also technology improving how we can produce clean energy, that the economy will benefit. If we can't make that argument persuasively enough, you -- you can -- you can be Lyndon Johnson, you can be the master of Washington, you're not gonna get that done."
Obama, of course, has no intention of persuading the American people, he's going to ram his Marxist agenda up their tailpipes.
patience. These plans need to be often and loudly ridiculed by the opposition, whoever we have left on our side. As long as it leaks through bit by bit to the sleeping masses and they will awaken in time for 2010. We need to let Obama and the Dems hang themselves.

I don’t think so. It could never have gotten this far without the Great Leader. People did not examine a thing he said during the campaign - granted, he was pretty vague, but nobody wanted to hear the details. They just wanted this Messiah figure they were being marketed.
Even Hillary would have had more common sense than Obama, and I don’t think it was really her objective to destroy the US. And Hillary certainly wouldn’t have been the object of a cult of personality the way Bambi is.
The problem is that he really believes his own hype. The guy is crazy and evil. Send him back to Kenya and let his followers go with him. Then they can all live the mud hut lifestyle that they are trying to force Americans to adopt.

Exactly. I can’t sell my house without losing the $$ that I’ve put in it. Walking away from it all is insane, and go where? Mexico? and live in a cardboard box?
I guess I have taken for granted everything this country has stood for. Even though this all seems like a bad dream, I never dreamed that our country would be taken over and slowly destroyed like this. Why did I believe it would never happen here?
I’m hoping for the day when Zero has a huge, very public, temper tantrum, meltdown, psychotic episode. His incompetence and fraud will be SO OBVIOUS that even the most loyal of his clan will not be able to deny. Look at all he’s done within one month: executive orders, bills, and campaigning. It’s enough to make your head spin. And I believe that is his intent. It’s happening so fast and it’s growing so big that by the time the rest of the country wakes up it will be too late to stop it. This “change” of his is like a screaming snowball from hell.
This new tax, combined with Obama’s plan to let the Bush tax cuts expire, will further depress the entire economy, resulting in a net loss of tax revenues.
Further, the whole idea of man-made global warming being a threat to the earth is a hoax. CO2 is only present in trace amounts, currently about 380 parts per million. The most prevalent greenhouse gas is water vapor. Greenhouse gases are not “bad”, they are essential to keeping the earth warm. It would be much too cold for us without greenhouse gases.
Obama stated while campaigning that he intends to kill any new coal-fired plants, but coal-fired plants currently supply about 50% of our electricity in the U.S. In other words, he intends to make us more dependent on foreign oil and send our economy into a fatal tailspin at the same time. The terrorists don’t need to attack us again. They can just let Obama destroy the U.S.
And I can't believe millions of Americans who believe as you do haven't picked up their pitchforks and torches and flooded DC.

And if Obama is impeached we are in the same scenario.
Since the Obama regime has gleefully spat on the Constitution, a large scale overhaul may be necessary to rollback the hard drive of government to a cleanly running version. But I think that is what you are heading for in your last sentence.
Another possibility is to do as the Chinese did after the fall of the Manchu Empire in the early 1900's. Treat the Forbidden City as the entirety of a foreign country. Let the Emperor stay as ruler of this puny city-state, but all his activities would be limited and monitored. Could a portion of DC be made a walled city? Maybe exile a section of DC to Gitmo. Certainly they would enjoy outings to Cuba.
Getting the states to reclaim their rights guaranteed in the US constitution is probably the best way to control the monstrosity that 0 is trying to create.
The federal govt has no right to undertake most of what it currently does.
We are no longer the United States of America, just America.
It isn't illegal to file for an extension is it? What if millions of people filed for extensions and just kept making legal excuses to put off paying?
