Obama to Propose Massive Greenhouse Gas Tax
Saturday, February 21, 2009 | Kristinn

Barack Hussein Obama will propose a massive business tax on greenhouse gases in his FY 2010 federal budget to be presented this week.

The massive tax increase and power grab was buried at the end on article on Obama's forthcoming budget proposal in The New York Times:

On energy policy, Mr. Obama’s budget will show new revenues by 2012 from his proposal to require companies to buy permits from the government for greenhouse gas emissions above a certain cap. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the permits would raise up to $300 billion a year by 2020.

Since companies would pass their costs on to customers, Mr. Obama would have the government use most of the revenues for relief to families to offset higher utility bills and related expenses. The remaining revenues would cover his proposals for $15 billion a year in spending and tax incentives to develop alternative energy.

The proposal is in keeping with a policy announcement candidate Obama made in 2007, as reported then by The Times:

"No business will be allowed to emit any greenhouse gases for free," Mr. Obama said in Portsmouth, N.H. "Businesses don’t own the sky, the public does, and if we want them to stop polluting it, we have to put a price on all pollution."

Obama famously said in 2008 he would make American citizens' electricity rates skyrocket under his plan:

"What I've said is that we would put a cap-and-trade system in place that is more -- that is as aggressive if not more aggressive than anybody else's out there, so if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can, it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted.

"When I was asked earlier about the issue of coal, uh, you know, under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.

Regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad, because I'm capping greenhouse gases, coal-powered plants, you know, natural gas, whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money, they will pass that money on to consumers. If you can't persuade the American people that, yes, there's going to be some increase in electricity rates on the front end, but that over the long term because of combinations of more efficient energy usage and changing lightbulbs and more efficient appliances, but also technology improving how we can produce clean energy, that the economy will benefit. If we can't make that argument persuasively enough, you -- you can -- you can be Lyndon Johnson, you can be the master of Washington, you're not gonna get that done."

Obama, of course, has no intention of persuading the American people, he's going to ram his Marxist agenda up their tailpipes.

Just a can of spray paint. If they replace the glass with impact-resistant plastic, stock up on that Fusion spray paint from Rustoleum. It bonds with plastic and I don’t think it can be removed easily.

I want to know HOW they are going to refund energy costs to *the poor* and how they are going to define *the poor*? If no one is working and if all the stimulus jobs are going to DC and people of color or illegals, just who is left to support this?

This will kill my business and raise my cost of living. Along with the businesses, jobs and COL of a majority of Americans.

I keep reading smug comments on FR about how the people of (fill in the blank with location)deserve their tyrants because they did nothing to stop them. In the same breath, the same posters wish for *a Leader*. There is no leader without a large constituency of supporters. Any single leader or small group of leaders are targets of opportunity for the tyrants and their removal is an object lesson for the supporters.

This is their plan for absolute slavery of everyone.

How right you are on all accounts! It is time now to fix things while we still can.

Everyone, please contact your local, state and even federal leaders and let your voice be heard before it is too late.

You have and you can make a difference. The states and local governments are the weapon to use against what has become a federal monster...

"I have, myself, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once again able to defend our Island home, to ride out the storm of war, and to outlive the menace of tyranny, if necessary for years, if necessary alone. - Churchill"

Let us make this not CW2 but a new American Revolution!

Bottom line is that the GOP has to have leaders that will take up the cause of the people who pay taxes...
...give yourself a W-4 tax cut today and send Hussein an IOU on April 15.

We need to contact our critters now to gain their support.
During the 6 months of the extension they either get things under control or we march on DC on October 15th with our IOUs in hand.
Peaceful or Not ..... Their Decision

I've decided to roll the ball one revolution forward by joining and actively participating in the Republican Party. Long-time voter and supporter, but never to the extent I will be going forward. I'm serving as my Precinct's Chairman and will be voting in upcoming conventions.

My feeling is we have to act locally and normal people need to see normal people in the streets speaking to local issues first. These issues can turn on numerous topics, but clearly now it has to be fiscal responsibility. Tie a local issue to the national issue. Let people see it isn't the perpetually aggrieved, but engineers, bankers, construction workers in the streets. People aren't alone in their frustration, they need an outlet and need to see normal people speaking to it.

I know Pennsylvania went to Obama but I believe West (by God) Virginia went to McCain. That’s the ones I know off the top of my head.

That first picture you posted with Ubama flipping off McCain, I just saw that in the TV show “Lie to Me” on Fox the other night. I was quite surprised it would get shown and pointed out in a major tv network show. In the same episode they had Clinton lying about sexual relations with that woman too.

The largest “greenhouse gas” is water vapor, which comprise over 95% of “greenhouse gas”.

How’s the a$$hat going to tax THAT!

The fact is, there is NO MANMADE global warming!

This is just a ploy to impose controls of industial America and destroy our way of life!

They take in much more CO2 than they respirate out as the CO2 is what plants use to make their mass; all the oxygen given off comes from the water taken up by the roots and the hydrogen separated to combine with the CO2 to form the celluose and the various forms of carbohydrate material.

Might as well say that, since fresh water is a limited resource and water vapor is the strongest GHG of all, that growing plants is a positive feedback fueling ever-accelerating AGW; ergo, we could cool the planet almost overnight by razing all plant growth and painting the bare surface white.

NASA has already said that is too late to simply stop CO2 emissions and reverse it, but we must stop them anyway so it won’t kill us all earlier.

So we freeze, starve or roast until some will survive, or we pig out and wait for the grim reaper.

And I can't believe millions of Americans who believe as you do haven't picked up their pitchforks and torches and flooded DC.

Americans - well, conservative ones, at least - are a law-abiding people. We have suddenly had our government taken over from within. Honestly, I can tell you that I wake up every morning wondering what is going to happen today.

The tipping point will probably be something completely unexpected and pedestrian, as it always is. At some point, people will simply say that they're not going to take it anymore. But we're handicapped by a complicit media and, paradoxically, the fact that we have 200+ years of law-abiding history. We don't want to be a banana republic with no stability.

But I can tell you, Rush Limbaugh is the Tom Paine of his times. He's the only person in media who seems to understand what's happening right now, and the only public voice who is brave enough to speak out. They'll destroy him, and that may be the final straw.

IMHO, the major problem is that this is moving so fast. I knew that Bambi was going to consolidate his forces rapidly, but I had no idea that it would be this fast.

As if the tax wouldn’t be bad enough, the socialist will no doubt try to place some other clause in there like he become supreme dictator that will slip under the radar.
He is just getting payback on every American who struggled to work and do the right thing making the loafers look bad. Now he wants all of us in poverty living hand to mouth.

We have a racist in the Whitehouse

We have already reached the tipping point....that is, in part, why it’s all unraveling so fast.

[And the real hell of it is that it will have zero effect on climate change. Zero, zilch, nada.]

So they’ll lower the tax threshold and increase the tax amount.

That could be. I had a horrible event in my past, many years ago, that required me to know when to simply run away. Things kept getting worse and worse, but I kept telling myself that I was an alarmist. One day, something happened - it was a tiny something, and I never knew exactly what provoked it - and I knew it was time to run. That's the only reason I'm able to post this now.

So I keep wondering. I remember that with the personal event I mentioned, things had started a long time ago but suddenly seemed to start unraveling rapidly, and I kept rationalizing them until that one small event.

I don't know what it's going to be here, but I hope we all recognize it and respond together.
