There is a system to flood repair.

You don't want anything too tight to start with. Mold is a problem with getting wet and staying wet. Getting wet and drying is not that much of an issue.

No carpet. Either hard wood or tile.

First you go in with a hose and wash the mud out. If the house has sat under water for a few days the dry wall will probably have to come out. You set up dehumidifiers, or fans and let the bones of the house dry out.

Bleach will kill mold and you scrub stuff down with it.

Put the dry wall back up. Sand the floors if they have gotten a little warped, Re stain and seal them and move back in.

Rapidly rising water with no advance warnings is a much more devastating problem.

We had a 10 inch rain in one evening back in the 90's. Lots of people got caught.

OHNO!!!!

I was never so cold in my life as I was the 22 months I spent in LA. I could NOT get warm! It rained a lot that year, even closing down the highways between the Valley and LA....

The catch basin couldn't hold it all.

Come to AZ...it's nice here...a little rain, but not much.

Lots of sunshine and heat...oh. But you have Palm Springs, so never mind.

I never got to Ventura, but I would like to see it some day. I did go to Palmdale a lot, to LACR, but that's sorta like AZ...Most places in CA I can do without.

Eureka is beautiful, but way too rainy for me. So I guess I will only visit when the weather agrees with me.
