This is a general heads up concerning the ATF. The ATF has been showing up at peoples homes asking them to turn in things like solvent cleaners, and forced reset triggers. The feds usually don't have a warrant but are asking people to "voluntarily" hand over the items. How do the feds know which homes to go to? Some people have suggested that the common denominator is that many of these people purchased items from GunBroker.com. GunBroker is like ebay for guns and gun related items. It's 100% legal and follows all state and federal laws. So how are the...

On Thursday, the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), issued an open letter ruling that a type of gun trigger, known as a forced-reset trigger, will be considered a machinegun despite functioning differently than a true automatic machine gun.The letter, dated March 22 and widely published Thursday, March 24, states the agency “recently examined devices commonly known as ‘forced reset triggers’ (FRTs) and has determined that some of them are ‘firearms’ and ‘machineguns’ as defined in the National Firearms Act (NFA), and ‘machineguns’ as defined in the Gun Control Act (GCA).”A conventional trigger is one that, once...

Stocks fell sharply on Monday even after the Federal Reserve embarked on a massive monetary stimulus campaign to curb slower economic growth amid the coronavirus outbreak. The S&P 500 dropped 8.14% shortly after the open, triggering a “circuit breaker” trading halt that will last for 15 minutes. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 9.7%, or 2,250 points. The Nasdaq Composite slid 6.1%. Before the open, futures contracts tied to the major averages hit their “limit down” levels, meaning they could not trade below that threshold. Those limits are imposed by the CME Group to maintain orderly market behavior. While the...
  • The plight of the unwoke

Urban slang defines a person being "woke" or "wokeness" as someone being cognizant of "social justice." Social justice, in this worldview, encompasses racism, feminism, gender fluidity, inequality, and "undocumented visitors" (illegal aliens). The very word connotes a superior state of being in which any opposing opinion is perceived as a personal affront, or even attack, and triggers the necessity for safe spaces. Opposing viewpoints are bludgeoned on college campuses and in the mainstream media as racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, gun-toting, and Bible-thumping idiocies. Oh, the elitism — and blindness! The woke are really the unwoke — those with no sense...

The rightish television presenter Tucker Carlson today offered his Twitter followers one of the best "tweetstorms" I've ever seen: #100RacistThings. You can see the thread here, but it's so good I'm going to preserve it for posterity in this post - because this is the sort of thing that gets people banned from Twitter these days. 1. Tamarisk trees in Palm Springs, California. 2. The ice cream truck song. 3. Credit scores. 4. Car insurance. 5. Crime statistics. 6. Halloween costumes. 7. Calling Elizabeth Warren "Pocahontas." 8. Most of the better Disney movies. 9. Dr. Seuss. 10. White flight. 11....
  • Who would buy an AR-15 Trigger System?

Here's an aftermarket trigger that doesn’t suck and actually shows some innovation. With all the customizing of AR’s , using a shorter barrel would need to also shorten the gas system to allow it to operate correctly. Operating at this level the bolt carrier system picks up speed. Which winds up beating up the firing component. The fire control components takes a huge beating, specifically the disconnector. After four thousand rounds the pin shears and disconnecter failure occurs. This is the reason manufacturers comes out with trigger system to solve this problem and here's one to consider. KE Arms trigger...

Watching several minutes of CNN’s punditry coverage of President Trump’s Harrisburg rally is exceptionally interesting from the perspective of watching what happens when full-throated liberal media ideology is confronted by a political opponent inoculated from battered politician syndrome. The media cries foul. Many intellectually honest people throughout the political era have noted that liberalism -in its modern presentation- is similar to a psychological condition. That’s true. However, the actual condition displayed is more aptly described as Borderline Personality . The advancement of modern liberalism is contingent upon their abused recipient cowering to the demands of the progressive abuser. Modern democrats,...

Police and school investigating incident as a hate crimeLOS ANGELES (ChurchMilitant.com) - A Los Angeles Jesuit university has fired an employee for telling students there are only two genders — male and female. In April, Catholic Loyola Marymount University (LMU) allowed LGBT Student Services (LGBTSS) to hold LGBTQ+ Awareness Week, also known as Rainbow Week. Posters were put up throughout campus, but on April 14 three members of the club noted some were taken down and placed behind a garbage can. They retrieved the posters and put them back up, claiming an unnamed employee of the Alumni Relations office approached...

Blasphemy was committed on a Catholic university campus: An employee at the "Catholic" school stated her belief, rooted in Catholicism, that there are only two genders. An unnamed employee at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles has been suspended and is currently being investigated for a “hate crime” by the university’s Bias Incident Response Team and the LAPD for “denying transgenderism” when she stated that there are only two genders, reports The College Fix. On April 14, the employee engaged in a “dialogue” with three students who were hanging up posters for “Rainbow Week” on campus. Cosette Carleo, who identifies...

Last night, radio talk show host and former US Justice Department official Mark Levin shocked many listeners when he reported that President Bill Clinton gave nuclear technology to the Iranians in a harebrained scheme. He said that the transfer of classified data to Iran was personally approved by then-President Clinton and that the CIA deliberately gave Iranian physicists blueprints for part of a nuclear bomb that likely helped Tehran advance its nuclear weapons development program. The CIA, using a double-agent Russian scientist, handed a blueprint for a nuclear bomb to Iran, according to a new book "State of War" by...

A bus union leader is saying that she is “triggered” whenever she thinks about private buses that are becoming popular in San Francisco. Leap, one such company, is gaining popularity in the city for their luxury buses and comfortable seating. Not all people are happy with such start-up businesses. The San Francisco Transit Riders Union, for example, is upset at companies like Leap. SFTRU for short, the union describes itself as “A rider-based, grassroots organization working to improve transit in San Francisco.” Ilyse Magy, a representative for the union, said that not only are private buses classist, but they are...

The Justice Department's inspector general has opened an investigation into possible retaliation against a whistle-blowing agent at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, according to two people briefed on the inquiry. Watchdogs are examining whether anyone at the Justice Department improperly released internal correspondence to try to smear ATF agent John Dodson, who told the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee last month that he repeatedly warned supervisors about what he called a reckless law enforcement operation known as "Fast and Furious." Republican lawmakers in both the House and Senate have spent months pursuing allegations that the ATF...

ALBURQUERQUE, Spain - Spanish cuisine tickles the palate in a thousand ways: ugly but delicious creatures called goose barnacles; boiled octopus with a dash of olive oil and paprika; thick, mushy sausage made from pig's blood. Spaniards are nothing if not dedicated eaters. Now, hard-core foodies are drooling over the prospect of something truly superlative from Spain, at least in price: a salt-cured ham costing about $2,100 per leg, or a cruel $160 per pound. It's a price believed to make it the most expensive ham in the world. Don't grab your wallet just yet. And forget about asking for...

It’s Worse Than You Think By The Editors The immigration bill, according to its critics, hands out amnesty to illegal immigrants as soon as some ineffectual steps toward enforcement are taken. Don’t believe it. The bill provides amnesty as soon as it is enacted. The Bush administration wants to divert attention from this fact by talking about “Z visas,” and some of the critics have fallen into this trap. But the government will start issuing those visas only after it meets its enforcement benchmarks — if that ever happens. Illegal immigrants are eligible for “probationary” legal status, on the other...

Bird flu triggers high and sustained virus buildup, cause of severe disease 15:13:05 EDT Sep 10, 2006 Canadian Press: HELEN BRANSWELL (CP) - The severe disease that H5N1 avian flu provokes in people appears to be caused by the virus's ability to replicate at unusually high levels for a prolonged period - an overwhelming assault that triggers a massive and devastating immune system response, a new scientific paper suggests. Interrupting that process before it reaches the tipping point is critical, say the authors of the article, who based their observations on detailed study of 18 H5N1 patients in Vietnam. But...

MOUNT MERAPI, Indonesia - Mount Merapi erupted violently Monday, sending searing gas clouds and burning rocks down its scorched flanks and threatening villagers who refused to leave because of ancient mystical beliefs. The activity triggered renewed panic and fresh evacuations of some closest to the crater, but others ignored urgent warnings to leave. The volcano in the heart of densely populated Java Island had been rumbling for weeks, spewing ash high into the air and pushing lava to the surface, where it has formed a large unstable dome. On Saturday, authorities declared the highest danger alert, triggering mandatory evacuations for...

According to Chun Sung-hoon, a researcher at the state-run Korea Institute for National Unification, the North has secured between 24.5 kilograms to 39.5 kilograms of weapons-grade plutonium as of July 2003.

SACRAMENTO (AP) - When California adopted a law to protect sacred Indian lands and the nation's toughest restrictions on open-pit metal mining in 2003, the twin actions spelled the end for a gold mine in the Southern California desert. Now the mine owner is seeking $50 million in compensation under the North American Free Trade Agreement. It's one of 42 such claims by corporations and investors so far, according to Ralph Nader's watchdog group Public Citizen. Public Citizen, the Sierra Club, the environmental law firm EarthJustice and two California state lawmakers said Tuesday the NAFTA provision lets foreign corporations undermine...

DENVER (AP) - The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on Friday endorsed hiking, hunting and other public use of the former Rocky Flats nuclear weapons plant after it is cleaned up and converted to a wildlife refuge. The agency released its draft management plan and environmental impact statement for the 6,240-acre site outside Denver where the government once made plutonium triggers for nuclear warheads. The plan outlines uses for the site after the $7 billion cleanup, scheduled to be complete in 2006. The agency's preferred option includes hiking, cycling, horseback riding and some hunting. It includes about 16 miles of...

Hours after the withdrawal of charges against Gauteng businessman Johan Meyer for contravening laws governing weapons of mass destruction and nuclear energy, Durban police swooped on a luxury penthouse on the beachfront and arrested a German-born engineer on similar charges. Police then chartered a special flight to whisk him to Johannesburg on Wednesday night. The 65-year-old engineer is also facing similar charges in Germany and was arrested a forthnight ago. While Durban detectives were making the arrest on the beachfront, detectives arrested another suspect in Sandton. Spokesperson for the police national commissioner Director Sally de Beer on Thursday confirmed the...
