PARLOCK UPDATE By Michelle Malkin · September 21, 2004 04:01 PM For those still interested: Just received a call from the IUPAT, which has now identified the union member who grabbed the Bush/Cheney sign from Phil Parlock's daughter and threw the pieces at the family as they left the event. "We are taking steps to deal with the individual," the union told me. Meanwhile, President Bush sent the little girl a new sign that read: "Dear Sophia, Thank you for supporting my campaign. I understand someone tore up your sign. So I am sending you a new sign and a...

Barboursville resident Phil Parlock and his children became national celebrities in the world of Internet blogging and conservative talk radio on Friday. A Bush-Cheney campaign sign yanked from the hands of 3-year-old Sophia Parlock and ripped into pieces was the focus of all the attention. The incident occurred Thursday evening at Tri-State Airport during Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards’ campaign stop. Republican supporters all over the Internet on Friday were saying Parlock was merely a Republican exercising his First Amendment rights, set upon by Democratic thugs.

It was a great idea for President Bush to send Sophia a new poster. But how about this: 1. Bush schedules a rally in Huntington, W.Va. 2. Bush introduces the Parlock family and brings them onstage. 3. Bush hands Sophia a new Bush-Cheney sign. 4. Bush then says, "Now, Sophia, some people say the man who tore up your other sign was a member of a labor union. I don't want you to think all union members are like that. As a matter of fact, some of my strongest supporters are union members, and I'd like to bring out one...

I JUST got this e-mail alert from www.goodnewsamerica.us 'If the picture of little 3-year-old Sophia Parlock crying after some Kerry-Edwards Union Thugs ripped up her Bush-Cheney poster and gave her back the pieces got to you, well, you weren't the only one. Well, there's a happy ending. After seeing the picture of the tearful Sophia on her dad's shoulders, aides said the president was sending her a little note Friday along with a signed campaign poster and an autographed photo of the Prez and his dog. "Dear Sophia" Bush penned, "Thank you for supporting my campaign. I understand someone tore...

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Phil Parlock says he's a peaceful guy who doesn't mind carrying a Republican sign to a Democratic rally. Others say he has a history since 1996 of attending Democratic rallies in West Virginia for the sole purpose of provoking the anger of the party faithful. On Thursday, the Huntington real estate agent said, he hid nine Bush-Cheney signs under his pant leg and took 3-year-old daughter Sophia and 11-year-old son Alex to a rally for Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards. An older son manned the van outside the rally with a larger Bush sign. When it...

September 17, 2004 — Phil Parlock and three of his children visited the Tri-State Airport in Huntington, W.Va., yesterday to catch a glimpse of Democratic vice-presidential candidate John Edwards. Parlock, a staunch Republican, and his family were there to show support for the Bush-Cheney ticket when they were assaulted by Kerry supporters, according to a report in the local paper, The Herald-Dispatch. What the Herald-Dispatch failed to report, however, is that Parlock also claimed to be the victim of similar assaults at the hands of Democratic renegades in 1996 and 2000 — a fact that casts doubts on Parlock's new...

Bush Sign Ripping Staged Posted by Josh Rhoderick 10:35 AM, Politics & Government The story, according to Phil Parlock, goes like this: A West Virginia man said yesterday that Democrats stole his family's Bush-Cheney campaign signs at an event featuring Democratic vice presidential candidate Sen. John Edwards. "They just pounced on us," said Phil Parlock, who took his 11-year-old son, Alex, and 3-year-old daughter, Sophia, to the Democratic rally at Tri-State Airport in Huntington, W.Va. "She was crying; they were pushing and shoving her," said Mr. Parlock, a Huntington real estate agent. "She was scared." But there's more to it...

The Democratic Underground crowd is claiming that this guy Parlock has pulled a hoax. They claim the guy in the backwards cap is actually Parlock's older son. Any WEST VIRGINIA REPUBLICANS perhaps have any background on this subject? Anybody out there that would recognize Parlock's son?
