Future Motion, the maker of Onewheel electric skateboards, is recalling all models of its e-skateboards after four known deaths were linked to the products, according to a federal safety watchdog. The company issued the voluntary recall of 300,000 boards in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission after initially resisting CPSC's push for a recall several months ago. "Future Motion has received dozens of reports of incidents involving the electric skateboards, including four reported deaths between 2019 and 2021 and injuries such as traumatic brain injury, concussion, paralysis, upper-body fractures, lower-body fractures and ligament damage," CPSC said in the...

One of my favorite candidates in the 2020 race for the Democratic nomination has just announced that he is running for high office once again in 2022. He is Beto O'Rourke, and he is one of the great innovators in recent American politics. Of course, he is one of the great losers in recent American politics, too, having lost in 2018 to Sen. Ted Cruz and, two years later, having lost in his run for the Democratic presidential nomination. He bowed out of the race before it began. How many millions of dollars he cost his backers I would not...

One man died after being shot in the head and a second man died after being shot in the chest. A third man was wounded after Rittenhouse blew part of his arm off with a rifle. 26-year-old Gaige Grosskreutz had his arm partially blown off after he aggressively rushed at 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, who had just tripped and fallen while being chased by the BLM mob. Grosskreutz had a gun in his hand when he ran up to Rittenhouse, so in self defense, the 17-year-old discharged his weapon, blew off part of Grosskreutz’s arm, saving his own life. This first...

On Tuesday night two people were killed in the continued violence in Kenosha, Wisconsin. It appears they were killed by the same shooter, a 17-year-old by the name of Kyle Rittenhouse. Another individual shot by Rittenhouse appears to have been carrying a handgun. A new video slowed down shows a man hitting the accused Rittenhouse with a skateboard after Rittenhouse fell down running from what perhaps was his first episode with a gun.

A South San Francisco police officer, who was critically injured after being smashed in the head with a skateboard on Thanksgiving, is “beginning to show positive signs of recovery,” officials said Monday. Officer Robby Chon remains in critical condition at San Francisco General Hospital after Thursday’s violent attack, in which he was struck in the head by a suspect he was chasing on foot.
-
The incident occurred on Thursday at approximately 2:20 p.m. Pacific time in South San Francisco, after the officer was waved down by someone who was reporting a person causing a disturbance at a local business, South San Francisco Police Chief Jeff Azzopardi said at a news conference today. "Several patrons reported a subject acting aggressively and irrationally. The officer made contact with the suspect, who immediately became confrontational. During the contact, the suspect attempted to flee from the officer," Azzopardi said. "After a short foot chase, the subject turned on the officer and intentionally struck him in the head with...

Authorities say two Southern California high school students attached a homemade model rocket to a skateboard before it exploded and killed one of the teens. The blast Monday evening in the courtyard of a Ventura County elementary school killed 18-year-old Bernard Moon, the AP reports. His 17-year-old friend was injured and is in stable condition. Sheriff's Detective Timothy Loman says the teens built the rocket and attached it to the skateboard as a propulsion device. Authorities say the experiment wasn't sanctioned by the elementary school. The teens attended Thousand Oaks High School, which said in a Twitter post: "Our hearts...

A 2-mile stretch of the road - in an unincorporated area of north Santa Clarita - was shut down after a slide began pushing up the asphalt on Nov. 19. Since the road closed, skateboarders have apparently been attracted to the steeply sloping roadway. Photos from the area show skaters airborne atop the broken asphalt, and one skater reported many people at the site over the weekend. The unusual sight was an attraction for photographers as well, social media posts appeared to indicate. On Tuesday, the county Department of Public Works tweeted a photo showing the damaged road fenced off,...

The man, who seemed to be on drugs, went inside and zoned in on a young skateboarder, the witnesses said. The man approached the skateboarder aggressively, prompting the young man to stand up and whack the first man once in the head. The witnesses described the incident as self-defense. "He just came abruptly into the store, looked at the kid, and said, 'Did I stutter?'" a witness told KTLA. "He took at step forward towards the kid as if he were going to attack him, and that's when the kid hit him with the skateboard." "He did what anybody, I...

Saw these on Vsauce2 just now and thought they were pretty cool. Apparently these skateboard wheels have LEDs in them that light up when the wheels spin. The LEDs have a 100,000 hour life expectancy and there are no batteries. The spinning of the wheels generates the current necessary. I have no idea how durable they are, though. The website says a set of 4 wheels is $40. A whole board is $100. I'm not gonna link directly. I will put a picture or two for people who don't YouTube.

WEST LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Seven people were cited on Sunday for allegedly entering closed portions of the 405 Freeway. Amy Johnson, reporting for CBS2 and KCAL9, said they consisted of four rollerbladers, a newlywed couple and one pedestrian. Earlier Sunday, KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO reported via Twitter that the newlyweds were cited on the Sunset Boulevard on-ramp of the southbound 405 Freeway. The couple was spotted about 3:40 a.m., said California Highway Patrol officer Charmaine Fajardo. Officials urged motorists and residents to steer clear of the closed freeway. Johnson also said a tourist couple from Europe was not cited as...
