Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) holds a double-digit lead over Democrat Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke in a hypothetical head-to-head gubernatorial poll from the Texas Politics Project at the University of Texas at Austin.
The poll found that 47 percent of the registered Texas voters said they would vote for Abbott, 10 percent more than the Democrat primary candidate.

Beta is a Democrat cash incinerator.
Need to keep him in the race.
Then back in the Pres primaries in 2024.
Why only a 10% lead?
I don’t believe that at all.
Only 10 points???
Everyone knows that Beto means Pendejo in Espanol.
What? The 10% lead over Beto? I would have thought it’d be like 50 or better.
Whatever the point spread is, Houston, elapse, Austin and San Antonio are liberal strongholds. Lotta cheating in Houston too.
He peaked against Cruz. He will never do that well again. His next play should be getting a job as a Secretary in Biden Administration.
How much money can Beto burn through before the Dems stop wasting everyone’s time
Someone needs to post the gif of Beto the Dork wiping out on his skateboard. It is a Beto thread requirement!
Only 10 points?
He is in trouble...
Particularly when a couple hundred thousand of the MIVs show up and vote...
More telling is that Beto only has 37% vs. the 10 percent “lead” Abbott has - Beto from all of the fawning national coverage he has gotten multiple times he probably has higher name ID than Abbott himself. 45% is probably the best Beto can do...and he probably won’t get that. 57% - 43% would be my guess for election night.
The primaries are over?
Voting for Abbott Wednesday!
Won’t vote for Abbott in the primary, but of course I’ll vote for him in the General if he is the nominee.
Beto getting 40 % is 40 % too much.
Wow. Texas must be a bad shape if Abbott is only ten points ahead.
Should be a 98 point lead . . .
